Chapter 113: Unexpected
Chapter 113: Unexpected
The time was five o’clock in the afternoon, and the venue was a hotel temporarily offering accommodations. The room wasn’t large, or rather, there was no need for too much space; a soft bed was enough.
Carolina was clearly unfamiliar with this ambiguous atmosphere. Moreover, when she saw the Schwali gentleman removing his coat, she felt physically nauseated, yet a strange sense of excitement filled her heart.
Carolina hesitated for a moment, then lay down on the bed. After all, she had seen the ladies at Pink Hall do the same, so it shouldn’t be a problem for her to follow suit.
"Hey, hurry up..."
Fisher had his back to her, and while taking something out of his pocket, Carolina thought he was going to take some medicine. She sighed in resignation, as she wouldn’t be engaging in that sort of activity with him. She had already decided to use Charming Magic to bewitch him and then question him when he would be overwhelmed by the spell.
But the man wasn’t coming closer, how was she supposed to release the magic on him?
"Are you an employee at Pink Hall?"
"...Not really, just staying there temporarily. Don’t ask about that. Coming out alone with you is already an exception. If we don’t hurry, it will be bad if we get caught."
"I see."
At that moment, Carolina suddenly realized that the thing the gentleman had taken out of his pocket wasn’t an aphrodisiac made from Dragon Blood, but a pair of tweezers shining with a white light.
A sinister premonition surged in her heart as she suddenly saw the gentleman place the tweezers beside his face. Under Carolina’s astonished gaze, the Schwali gentleman violently ripped off his face, revealing his original pale male visage.
He placed the fabric from his face on the table and then turned around, expressionless, to face the lady behind him. Her face changed drastically, recognizing Fisher.
"Do you recognize me?"
"You!"
Wasn’t this the man who captured the Bart Witch in Snake Head Street that day?
In just a second, she realized she had fallen into Fisher’s trap.
Without any warning, she suddenly threw the bedding at Fisher and tried to jump off the bed and run towards the window.
But the man behind her, resembling a demon, wouldn’t let her escape. Fisher reached out and through the bedding, firmly grabbed her wrist, pulling her body back.
Carolina gritted her teeth and pulled out a blade, slashing at Fisher, but he easily dodged and even caught the hand holding the knife. The next second, Fisher forcefully twisted her wrist, dislocating her right hand.
"Ah!"
She cried out in pain, the agony of the dislocation seeming to magnify in an instant. Her blade dropped to the floor as Fisher gave her no chance to breathe and proceeded to dislocate her left hand, then bound her up tightly with the Spinner, throwing her onto the bed.
"Trying to run? Undead Witch..."
Carolina’s pale face unwillingly looked toward the gentleman beside her, but she couldn’t believe that this man had been pretending since he entered the Pink Hall this morning! The so-called Schwali gentleman was all a lie! This cunning man hadn’t done a single thing truthfully the whole day!
Could all men from Nali be as deceitful as him?
Entering his room for information about Schwali had been like walking into a trap, and leaving with him now was utterly foolish.
Just now, Carolina realized how foolish her actions had been. If only she had listened to that woman, Anna.
While reconsidered her situation, though bound again, she thought about it and yet her outward expression didn’t show; instead, her face turned red with anger as she started to curse,
"You damned man, who are you really? You captured Bart! You’re not with the Witch Research Association, I don’t have any feud with you, what do you want from me? Or do you also want to create a flawed witch like Bart?"
Fisher silently absorbed the information in her words, thought for a moment, and then said,
"I see, the Artificial Witch made by the Witch Research Association was crafted by you, no wonder they went to such lengths to travel from Kado to Nali looking for you."
Carolina glanced at Fisher in front of her, with dislocated joints causing severe pain that turned her face extremely pale, but after hearing Fisher’s words, she appeared even more puzzled and bewildered,
"So, you aren’t after me for witch creation? Then what do you want from me? I have absolutely no grudge against you. I was just trying to deal with the tail the Witch Research Association left on me, seeking just a bit of information about Schwali, that’s all! Twice now! The first time you broke my leg, and this time you want to break my arm, are you some sadistic freak?"
Fisher patted her face, cutting off her furious rant, not wanting to hear more of her ramblings. His expression slightly cold, he motioned for her to be silent,
"I’ve caught you now, so you’d better behave," Fisher glanced at her extremely pale face from the pain, and then continued, "I know you possess an Undying Body, but it seems, it’s not perfect."
Carolina pursed her lips. Each time her body was resurrected, she endured even more pain, pains that no medicine could alleviate. The Witch Research Association had once attempted to use anesthesia and psychiatric drugs to relieve her pain, but none had worked.
