Si Ning took his phone to check the time, it was almost noon and today was the day Liu Zhicheng would come and pick him up from his home town. Si Ning had been discharged from the hospital after he was checked and the doctor said he was okay physically and mentally even though Si Ning do have nightmares sometimes about Xiu Zhicheng’s death and he would wake up covered in sweat and quickly dial Liu Zhicheng’s cellphone number.

When Si Ning was discharged, his mother took him back home and Si Ning found out his mother nor Si Nan remember their past lives, since they had never been closed with any of their families means he would likely not meet Ge Liang if he ever exist in the modern day world.

When Si Ning got home only Chen An came to visit him and told him about Zhou Xu who was Su Heng in his past life and that sells pieces of furniture in one of the biggest furniture houses in the country and Ji Ran was an architect and it seemed none of them remembers their past lives even though Chen An suspected Zhou Xu might remember something due to his reaction and him even calling out his name in shock the first time they met but then denied it that he doesn’t know Chen An so Chen An left it at that as long as they were living well.

It was quite painful when Si Ning knew that his lovely sweet boy Xiu Yuan and the naughty Xiu Junjie doesn’t exist in their lifetime and being at home restricted his movement because his mother was always worried so he was only able to talk to Liu Zhicheng through the phone, through voice calls and video calls where they would talk for hours and whenever Si Ning mentions the past he noticed Liu Zhicheng do avoid discussing it but he promised Si Ning they would talk better when they meet because they had a lot to talk about during one of their phone calls.

It was finally time for Si Ning to go back to the city after spending a month at home, he was ready to resume work as an Actor, Shang Jin wasn’t sacked so he was still working for the Elite group of hospitals and he only came home once in a week when he had off to stay and chat with Si Ning because they had a lot to catch up on while Si Nan was the same old Si Nan who always tries to cook and telling Si Ning how she became so popular in school because of Si Ning who was an Actor.

It was the weekend so Si Ning decided to introduce Liu Zhicheng to his family, so Liu Zhicheng was coming to pick him up instead of Chen An, only Shang Jin knew that he interrupted the wedding because of Liu Zhicheng but his family doesn’t know about their relationship and he doesn’t want to hide anything from them so he sees it as a better time to open up to them, in his past life he doesn’t know if his mother doesn’t like Xiu Zhicheng but since he was the Emperor she won’t have a say in their relationship but this was the modern day world where things were different and his mother might not accept their relationship yet Si Ning was willing to try because he knew his life without Liu Zhicheng wouldn’t be the same.

"Brother NingNing your boss is here!" A loud knock sounded on Si Ning’s door as Si Nan shouted out her message.

Si Ning took a deep breath as he prepared himself for the news he was about to break to his family, he went out of his room and found out that Liu Zhicheng was already sitting at the dining with his family and the table was set. "You guys didn’t even wait for me." He said jokingly as he subtle checked Liu Zhicheng out, he was dressed in a dark suit, his aura was not overbearing and he had a gentle look, his hair styled perfectly and parted at the side. Si Ning couldn’t help but have a big smile plastered on his face when he saw Liu Zhicheng’s face, he wanted to kiss him.

"Come here son and eat." Ge Mengshu pats the seat next to her. "Your boss came here personally for you, I can’t keep him waiting without filling his stomach after he brought cookies and wine." She said as she started dishing out a plate of rice for Si Ning.

Si Ning took his seat and picked up the chopsticks to eat rice when Ge Mengshu placed the plate of rice in front of him. "Mother, Si Nan, me and my boss are dating." He blurted out without waiting for a second, he didn’t want to say it that way but because he was thinking about it so he said it loud and he couldn’t take it back.

Liu Zhicheng almost choked on the water he was drinking, he didn’t expect Si Ning to be so blunt or didn’t even wait or give him a signal and now the table had gone silent and he felt it was now sitting in an examination hall. "If you will accept me I will take care of Si Ning with a hundred percent of my capability." He said breaking the silence.

Ge Mengshu’s expression gave nothing away, she only picked some vegetables and placed them on Liu Zhicheng’s plate. "I suspected since you use to come to the hospital every day at midnight without fail and stare at Xiao Ning with those eyes when you thought I was asleep, you also moved him to a private room, paid the hospital bills, brought that flower pot personally even though my son didn’t act many movies so I do not think Xiao Ning is a great asset to your company but as long as my son is happy with you and as long as you do not hurt my son then I am happy too." She smiled. "Eat before it gets cold."

Liu Zhicheng and Si Ning were dumbfounded, Si Ning expected his mother to be shocked, leave the room in anger or at least think but she accepted them just like that. Si Ning turned to see that Liu Zhicheng smiled at him and he couldn’t help but smile at him too.

"Thank you, Mother." Liu Zhicheng said as he picked up the chopsticks.

"I know too from your calls, the wall of this house is too thin and my room is next to yours." Si Nan said nonchalantly as she started eating her food.

"I will be having a grandchild so I am happy." Ge Mengshu started laughing out loud.

Si Ning’s head almost snapped to the side as his eyes widened as it trailed to Si Nan’s stomach which was covered with a big sweater, they were just two and Si Nan had been wearing big tops since he got home, he didn’t think much about the big tops but now he could see why Si Nan was always putting on those big tops, it was to hide her pregnancy!

"Si Ning? Si Ning Si Ning...."

"Si Nan you are pregnant!" Si Ning yelled as he slapped his chopsticks on the table turning deaf ears to Liu Zhicheng that was trying to call him.

"What!" Si Nan turned to Si Ning. "What are you saying?"

"The grandchild mother is having!" Si Ning yelled out. "Who the hell is he?" He pronounced each word slowly with his mouth wide as his blood started to boil in anger, Si Nan was only eighteen and who was the boy who dared to impregnate her! That boy must pay, he was going to shred him into pieces and pack him then shred him all over again.

"Si Ning..." Liu Zhicheng tried to call Si Ning again.

"What are you saying Xiao Ning, I was talking about your ex-girlfriend Liu Ting." Ge Mengshu said.

Liu Ting?

Pregnant?

"That’s why I said we need to discuss." Liu Zhicheng said, his eyes filled with guilt.

"What do you mean! Do you mean...." Si Ning stopped talking at once when his mother banged the table.

"Xiao Ning, you are all well right now so you will respect my table and eat then after you can go and discuss but now I want to feed the person that saved your life by paying the enormous hospital bills just to keep you alive, okay?" Ge Megshu said firmly with a stern voice that commanded respect to the table.

Si Ning wasn’t so spoilt to leave the table so he closed his mouth at once, it was the first time in a long time his mother would show how strongly she thinks. "So you worship him because he paid my hospital bills?" He let the words escape if not he might bust.

"Si Ning..."

"Zhicheng how could you..."

"Xiao Ning quit your overreacting."

"Mother, do you think I am overreacting?" Si Ning asked with wide eyes. He wasn’t supposed to hear the news from his mother when Liu Zhicheng was there.

Ge Mengshu sighed. "What’s with you calling me mother instead of ma, since you woke up you have been odd and your boss might have a reason he didn’t tell you about Liu Ting and Liu Ting also didn’t tell you too." She pointed out. "Xiao Ning since you got discharged from the hospital I try talking to you about Liu Ting but you are always in your world not listening to me, now eat your food because you know how I can be if my food go to waste."

Si Ning shut up at once as he started to eat just like Si Nan that acted like she wasn’t even present in the room as she continued eating.

It wasn’t easy to quickly adapt back to the modern day world, Si Ning kept thinking about his past life because he tried to remember what happened after Xiu Zhicheng died, he ordered the history book about Xiu and read it but still couldn’t remember and it was the first time he concentrated in the dining and was mentally present. Si Ning’s appetite was gone but as soon as he finished eating as soon as he would be able to talk to Xiu Zhicheng.
