Cunning General Si Ning -
Chapter 241: Guilty Free Man
Chapter 241: Guilty Free Man
It was quite funny to Si Ning to see those guilty were all rushing out ready to confess but what Si Ning doesn’t know was that his attractive peach blossom eyes were now radiating the highest level of seriousness and at that moment they acknowledged him as the General Si Ning they always knew who never smile and who they feared but since he came back from the last war, he was different, throwing a bit of smile here and there but at the present moment the General Si Ning they knew before he went to war was back but the General Si Ning had changed beyond what they remembered because the General Si Ning they know would never shoot an arrow at Song Ouyang because he had a level of respect for the Prime Minister but the arrow he shot at Song Ouyang passed the information that he could shoot anyone and Song Ouyang being on his knees without protesting made them realised Si Ning was not playing games.
"I will give you a choice, only one choice." Si Ning said out loud. "If you are guilty of plotting with Xilie and have committed treason this is your last chance to step out." He said as he lowered his bow ignoring those that decided to confess.
The statement made by Si Ning shook the governmental Officials because Si Ning gave only one choice and they had no idea what Si Ning would do if he finds anyone guilty. Some started to shake in fear like they were in the winter and cold water was poured on them.
"Who are they?" Ling Qi asked in anger, his voice a bit loud like he was ready to cut off the head of anybody guilty that steps out. "His Majesty already knows you!" He added breathing hard.
Si Ning was tired but first, he had to catch all those guilty before finally sitting to listen to their case, his eyes dart around ready to find anyone suspicious since none of the Ministers step out then he spotted a governmental Official who subtlely was trying to hide at the back of one of his colleague as he kept moving slowly to the side.
The Ministers started looking among themselves, some even kowtowed shaking terribly like they were expecting Si Ning to shoot them while others kept murmuring.
"Come out this instant! Why will you put our beloved Nation into a dire situation!" One Minister yelled from the center.
"Yes."
"Yes."
The others agreed yet nobody stepped out, then Si Ning turned to look at the Minister of Market Union whose eyes were locked on the Minister that was hiding in the crowd.
"Hmmm" Just like a flash Si Ning raised his bow within a second and released the arrow which flew and pierced the Minister that was acting sneakingly on the shoulder.
It was expected that Si Ning would shoot accurately so the Ministers all know he didn’t shoot the wrong person as they quickly moved to create space to reveal the Minister that the arrow hit, leaving him in the middle but instead of the Minister to surrender, he jumped up, holding his wounded shoulder as he started running toward the door, Si Ning immediately shot the next arrow Xiao Pei gave him and it hit the Minister trying to escape on the leg which immobilized him on the spot that he fell yet he started to crawl to show he was desperate to escape.
Jiang ChenMu moved out of line with angry strides he matched to drag the Minister that was escaping by the collar, the Minister didn’t even say a word as he struggled to get out of Jiang ChenMu’s hold but Jiang ChenMu’s grip was unshakable as he dragged the Minister on the floor then pushed him roughly to the Minister of Market Union, right then the Minister that tried to escape knew he was done for so he didn’t try to run anymore and only knelt beside the Minister of Masket union who was sweating terribly.
Si Ning collected another arrow and the governmental Officials started to scramble to their place still on their knees, their eyes darting around like they were trying to spot the next person Si Ning was likely to shoot among them as they started to give each other a suspicion look. Si Ning pulled then he turned but didn’t shoot, the Ministers were all shocked when they saw the direction Si Ning pointed his arrow, they couldn’t believe that the Imperial Tutor was also among them. The top Ministers plotting against Xiu was like seeing the end of Xiu, the Ministers started to murmur as some started to lament silently.
The Imperial Tutor had already stepped out long before Si Ning even turned to him with his bow but no one noticed and now some wore a shocked expression. "I met with the Minister of Welfare of Xilie but I didn’t commit any treason neither did I plot against my Nation and I will prove my innocence at this spot." He said gently in a low voice, free of panic nor worry.
Si Ning was annoyed that the Imperial Tutor could act gracefully when facing his arrow. "You dare say you didn’t show me the loopholes to capture the spies and give the Minister of Justice to make the attack of the palace go smoothly?"
"Those that attack were the people I brought in!" Concubine Ran yelled. "I did that because the Emperor of Xilie promised to marry me and make my son the Crown Prince of Xiu and I allowed them in from the northern gate that is far away to the main palace to kill you! Because of you! his Majesty doesn’t look at me, it is because of you!" She accused Si Ning.
"Eh?" Si Ning couldn’t believe he just listened to the most selfish stupid excuse ever to commit a crime.
"...I want them to kill everybody and kill the Crown Prince and his mother but I am ready for my punishment because I didn’t expect them to kill my Xiu Ting...." Concubine Ran cried.
Si Ning wasn’t about to tell her it was the head of the servants at the Jasmine palace that poisoned Xiu Ting but he was trying to think if Concubine Ran said the truth or was trying to cover up for the Imperial Tutor so Si Ning didn’t lower his arrow. Everybody was shocked about Concubine Ran’s confession, they were more shocked when Concubine Ling stepped forward and landed a hot slap on Concubine Ran’s face.
"Yes!" Ling Qi shouted only to use a hand to cover his mouth because he didn’t mean to say his thought out loud.
"How dare you ever think of laying a finger on my son!" Concubine Ling demanded as she gave Concubine Ran another slap and she was about to kick Concubine Ran when Liu MingXia quickly grabbed her from behind preventing her from doing so.
Si Ning nodded to Liu MingXia, Concubine Ling wasn’t supposed to be at the meeting so he watched as Liu MingXia dragged her out with the help of her guards when she was finally out and her ray of curses was shut out after the last Liu MingXia guard closed the door Si Ning turned to the Imperial Tutor to indicate that he should continue.
"I am a man of my principles, a man well versed with the act of studying." The Imperial Tutor paused like he was checking if he was being heard. "Xilie heard I was searching for the lost first Emperor of Xiu book about life, they sent the Minister of welfare to meet me and he offered me the legendary book of mystical accending which was written by the first Emperor of Xiu, it was a book lost to time and he also offered me a position to become the Prime Minister of Xiu if I bring the blueprint of the palace...."
"No that is not right! I am the one offered the position of the Prime Minister of Xiu" The Minister of Market Union interrupted him, his eyes bulging like a rapid dog like he couldn’t believe the position he was targetting was offered to someone else "I worked ha..."
Si Ning lowered his bow and stepped forward, he suddenly gave a kick with all his strength to the Minister of Market Union on the mouth and watched as he fell flat on the floor, unconscious. "Continue." He said his eyes were on one of the main causes of the tragedy that happened in the Si residence, his case was special so Si Ning was going to leave him unconscious for now.
The Imperial Tutor cleared his throat and nodded to show he was proud of Si Ning’s action. "I made an offer for them to give me the book to seal the alliance then I will exchange the blueprints with the guaranteed position but I collected the book and didn’t return because you General Si is someone that intrigues me, someone I must study, someone I am writing about and I love Xiu, I am contented with my life, I have soldiers, I have riches, I have influence, I have power and I am a proud man with a big title, proud to be giving guidance to the Princes so why should I join Xilie?" He declared.
Si Ning could see that the Imperial Tutor was proving himself more than innocent. "Then who gave them the blueprint?" He asked.
"Concubine Ran might have allowed them in but she couldn’t walk around with them and start to point out each Palace and give them details about it.
"I did." Song Ouyang said.
