Cunning General Si Ning
Chapter 240: Maniac

Chapter 240: Maniac

It was unprofessional for a Doctor’s hand to be shaking but the Imperial Doctor’s hand was slightly shaking because he could smell death in the air, he once used to go to war as part of the medics and saw plenty of death but the hall doesn’t seem right because he could tell many were going to die.

It was like Xiu Yuan and Xiu Junjie were what was keeping Si Ning from turning into a crazy person but the moment Jiang ChenMu left with the Princes, a choking death aura descended into the courtroom as Si Ning kept chuckling like someone who was running mad, his eyes holding so much evil.

The Governmental Officials saw Si Ning like they were seeing a version of Xiu Zhicheng but something at the back of their minds told them the Empress was a greater version, the worst version because the Emperor only sits on his throne and gives orders to punish a sinner but seeing Si Ning sitting there on the step, his appearance rough like he had gone through a lot to escape a narrow hole and they knew he won’t give orders he was going to implement the orders and carry out the slaughtering of the sinner himself.

The Ministers knew something great had happened in the palace the moment they were allowed through the palace gates after their identities were confirmed. All the guards they saw on top of the fence while coming, none of them was a palace guard and their appearance and look showed them they were trained skilled soldiers then they got to the courtroom and saw Si Ning appearance, his guard and even Concubine Liu, their cloth stained with dried blood, they knew something big happened yet they couldn’t ask.

The Ministers stood appropriately even the Minister of Foreign Affairs’ breathing was slow and shallow like he was scared to even breathe, he was standing so straight that a drop of sweat even slid down the side of his face.

"Give me my bow." That was the first statement Si Ning said when the Imperial Doctor was done bandaging his arm.

The Ministers’ eyes widened in horror as their hearts go thump thump thump loudly in their chest and they knew it, they were right that the Empress was going to end some lives in the courtroom.

On any normal day, the Imperial Doctor would have warned Si Ning not to use a bow till his arm recovered but something told him not to say a word so he bowed and hurried left the hall like he was in a mass body of water so he couldn’t wait to get to the surface to breath again.

Some of the Ministers swallowed a lump in their throat as they watched Xiao Pei handed Si Ning his bow and even gave him an arrow.

This is bad.

The Ministers that thought the situation was bad were more than half but they were even scared to turn to one another to use their eyes to make signs maybe they would understand what was happening but then the Minister of Justice stepped forward. Mo Chong Xuan was as old as Song Ouyang and had a large amount of power in handling the prison so stepping out was not surprising to most of the Ministers but stepping out at the moment when they were all struggling to breathe was a bad move.

"Your Majesty, why did you summon us late in the night?" The Minister of Justice asked but his voice wasn’t audible enough but those that heard him gave him a ’do you want to die?’ look.

Beads of sweat started to form on the Minister of Justice’s neck because he realised he should have kept his mouth shut but when Si Ning gave him a questioning look and raised a brow because he didn’t hear what the Minister of Justice said and when the Minister of Justice saw this made him to quickly step back in line with a relieved breath.

"Song Ouyang read the edict." Si Ning said when the Minister of Justice made no move to talk, he raised the bow and pulled the string setting his arrow on it.

The Ministers had no idea who Si Ning wanted to shoot as the Prime Minister read the edict out loud, telling the whole hall the Emperor of Xiu placed the Empress in charge while he was gone. It was already a common knowledge that Si Ning would run the Palaces and Nation but Si Ning just had to let them know it was written and stamped, he gave a nod to Xiao Pei and Xiao Pei moved forward, collected the edict from the Prime Minister before going to stand back at his position. Jiang ChenMu also entered the hall and almost shiver as something cold ran through his spine but he moved forward in large stride to stand beside Xiao Pei.

"I do not know if you all have seen it and choose to ignore it but my home in the city was attacked and I lost my mother." Si Ning said.

Just this statement made the Ministers know that an attack in the city would be an enemy attack but for the enemies to successfully penetrate the residence of the Empress means there had to be one or two spies among them and they knew Si Ning didn’t have to complete his statement to tell them there were spies among them.

"Minister of Market Union!" Si Ning called out loud.

One of the men Jiang ChenMu brought in raised his head and answered. "Your Majesty!" His voice was broken, and his complexion went pale like he was facing a death panel.

The position wasn’t a big one so the Ministers couldn’t help but pity him because for Si Ning to know his position means he was in trouble.

"General I find him trying to escape in a boat." Jiang ChenMu reported as he moved forward to untie the two men.

Si Ning could see that the one called Minister of Market Union was the man who was trying to save his head when Ling Qi was begging him to spare the Minister of Education. Si Ning smirked, he knows his type well, the time who would do anything to save their life. He set the arrow and positioned it to the direction of the Minister of Foreign Affairs.

There were silent gasps as Ling Qi started to shake his head violently as a silent form of a plea for the Empress not to shoot him but then Si Ning suddenly turned, lowered his bow, and released the arrow which pierced the Minister of Market Union’s lap.

"Ah ah ahhhh...." The Minister of Market Union cried out loud in pain as he placed two shaky hands on his lap. "Ah ahhhnnnn." The arrow only stopped due to the thick flexible rubber boots he wore which were reaching his knee if not the arrow would have nailed his lap to his calf because he was in a kneeling position.

Xiao Pei quickly gave Si Ning another arrow and Ling Qi almost fell on his kneels as he bent a little, his breathing hard. Si Ning raised his bow again after positioning the arrow on the string, this time he pointed it at the door.

Most Ministers were afraid wondering who was at the door that Si Ning was about to shoot and some even turned their stiff neck to see no one was at the door which made their fear to rise up.

"Your Majesty Your Majesty... Your Majesty." The Minister of Market Union cried. "I will confess, I will confess, I will confess..." He cried out loud as he started shaking like a leaf during a windstorm and he started to breath hard due to fear of where Si Ning might shoot next.

Si Ning turned suddenly to his left and released the arrow, this time the arrow pierced Song Ouyang by the arm. The Ministers eyes widened in shock as they watched a whole Prime Minister fall on his knees as he grunted in pain, his arm started to bleed staining his sleeve, they knew Si Ning couldn’t be acting on instinct but it was outrageous to harm the Prime Minister just like that they knew Si Ning could dare shoot anyone as Xiao Pei gave him another arrow.

It was Ling Qi that first fell on his knees and the other Minister followed, most were confused about what was going on but when they heard the Minister of Market Union say he would confess, they knew he was one of the spies but they all know the Prime Minister as a loyal person so they didn’t know why he was shot but Si Ning had already drawn his arrow which was pointed at the Minister of Justice.

The Minister of Justice, Mo Chong Xuan’s eyes widened because he could tell Si Ning’s arrow was pointed to his chest right where his heart was, his daughter Mo Qi was pregnant and he was looking forward to becoming a grandfather so he doesn’t want to die. "Your Majesty! I will tell you everything!" He yelled aloud and quickly scrambled to his feet to kneel before Si Ning.

"I will tell you everything!" Concubine Ran suddenly yelled making the whole court turn to her. "I will tell you everything!"
