Cunning General Si Ning
Chapter 242: The Guilty

Chapter 242: The Guilty

"Oooo?"

"What....?"

"The Prime Minister..."

"Ehhh?"

The hall was filled with murmur so Si Ning raised a hand just like he had seen Xiu Zhicheng does whenever he wants the hall silent and the whole court went silent immediately they saw the sign. They all wanted to listen to Song Ouyang but still wanted to at least talk about it in low voices to ask each other their opinion but they do not dare even make an exclamation because the Imperial decorum was at work.

"I have no excuse for my action." Song Ouyang said as he managed to kowtow even though his wounded arm made it difficult.

I have no excuse?

Si Ning couldn’t believe that Song Ouyang branded him as an idiot for him to come out boldly and say he had no excuse for his actions. "A man of principles what do you think?" He didn’t entirely trust the Imperial Tutor but he couldn’t touch him as long as there was no evidence to show he was involved in the whole accident.

When Si Ning was questioning the Imperial Tutor and saw how calm he was, talking and proving his point like he was a hundred percent sure that after Si Ning hear his story he would remain unharmed and that pissed Si Ning off but his hands were folded so he was going to give time to know the Imperial Tutor, study him and judge if he was a harmful person to the Prince, the Palace, and the Nation but something tells Si Ning he had to ask for the Imperial Tutor opinion because after him as the Empress, the Imperial Tutor appeared like the second most important person in the court even the Prime Minister didn’t come close and Si Ning asked his opinion as a trap to quick study the Imperial Tutor and see if maybe he would be able to find one weak spot to show that the Imperial Tutor was also guilty.

"According to his expresses, he is lying." The Imperial Tutor concluded with a straight face like he didn’t hear what Si Ning called him.

His reply made Song Ouyang give him a sharp look.

"Hmmm..." Si Ning watched Song Ouyang giving the Imperial Tutor a death glare but didn’t say a word and nobody present was ready to defend the Prime Minister and go against the Imperial Tutor.

"Stop!!!" Someone shouted when the main court door opened.

The whole court turned to see the intruder who dares to make a noise in the Empress’s court and it was Song Feng, wearing an outercoat over his sleeping robe he rushed in but stopped when he saw his father and his face got squeezed up like he was in pain when he saw the arrow protruding from his father’s arm.

"Tsk." Si Ning raised his bow and pointed it at Song Feng. "I do not remember you being a part of my court." It was annoying that his court got interrupted which means Song Feng appearing diverted the court’s attention to himself and was going to delay Si Ning’s time to rest.

The whole court seemed to have stopped because none of them know what was going on in the Empress’s head but what they could tell was that whenever he wants to shoot, he would do it which means Song Feng might sustain an arrow injury in the blink of an eye.

Song Feng started to move forward even though an arrow was pointed at him. "Your Majesty, I know this day will come. My father was only trying to protect me so I should pay for his sins!" He yelled to be heard even though the hall of extremely silent.

"Song Feng stay back!" Song Ouyang yelled out a warning. "Stay back!" He yelled again because Song Feng didn’t listen and kept on advancing.

Si Ning released the arrow and even some Ministers closed their eyes expecting Song Feng to fall flat on the floor but the arrow only gaze his cheek and a steak of blood dripped down from the cut. "You’re right a sin of the father should be paid by the son." He purposely missed and also purposely shoot to show Song Feng he couldn’t just walk in and interrupt their meeting.

"Nooooo Your Majesty! It is all me, it is me you should punish not this stupid son of mine please Your Majesty I beg you." Song Ouyang begged, his eyes beseeching as he started to crawl forward to hold Si Ning’s leg and beg but Si Ning dodged, taking a step to the side.

Song Feng froze at his spot for a bit due to the arrow Si Ning shot like he couldn’t believe Si Ning shot an arrow at him but he quickly recovered from the shock and got closer to kneel. "I know about the blueprint but I didn’t know how to face Your Majesty, the blueprint added to the reason I had to stay away, please forgive me for being unable to tell you, Forgive me but whatever my father’s punishment is I will accept it without any resentment or bitterness because it is what I deserve."

"Even if it’s death." Si Ning said without thinking, bold of Song Feng to come forward saying he was going to accept any punishment.

"Nooo, you stupid boy!" Song Ouyang yelled. "This is my sin, a sin I must pay now beg it is none of your concern." He moved to start hitting Song Feng on the shoulder to reprimand him. "You have a child on the way, a wife, and a bright future why did you come here why did you come... Now beg! beg his Majesty to forgive you...." He cried out loud as he kept on hitting Song Feng now on the head with his uninjured hand.

The Imperial Tutor said Song Ouyang was lying but Si Ning had no idea how to know the person that gave Xilie the blueprint, it had to be someone that Song Ouyang wanted to protect, Si Ning would have thought of Song Feng but him being here already ruled him out which made it difficult for Si Ning to figure it out, he won’t have a choice than to judge Song Ouyang at the end of the day.

"It was me." Mo Chong Xuan suddenly yelled. "I stole the blueprint." He shouted, breathing hard, his face full of sweat.

The hall started to be filled with murmur immediately and it was starting to give Si Ning a headache, with the way things were going he wasn’t going to find the real perpetrator and that was making him mad but when he turned to Xiao Pei for another arrow, Xiao Pei shook his head to indicate they were out of arrow so Si Ning stretched out his hand holding the bow and Xiao Pei stepped forward to accept it after he bent and picked up Si Ning’s sword and then bowed while extending the sword in a presenting manner and Si Ning collected it. The moment Si Ning swing the sword like it was a plaything in his hand then threw it up and caught it skillfully like it was a part of him made the court go silent like a graveyard.

Song Ouyang turned to the Minister of Justice with a pained expression. "You do not have to protect me...."

"Ouyang it is all over I did it." Mo Chong Xuan cut him off.

"Mo Chong Xuan shut up this instance I..." Song Ouyang was unable to complete his sentence because Si Ning placed his sword on his neck.

"Si Ning...."

Eh....?

Si Ning turned suddenly and gave Song Feng a kick in the mouth. "How dare you refer to me by name and you are not allowed to speak." It was annoying how they all kept talking without his permission. Song Feng quickly bowed, blood trailing down his nose. "Continue in the shortest form possible no long story." He said his gaze on the Minister of Justice to show he was talking to him.

Mo Chong Xuan rubbed his face with shaky hands. "The Minis...ter of Welfare of Xilie which is my cousin threatened to kill my daugh...ter Mo Qi according to the Emperor of Qiu unless I find a way to get the blueprint of the palace, I know that he will do it in a snap of his finger because he is a ruthless being so I ran to Song Ouyang for help and I told him they threatened me unless I bring the blueprint or bury my daughter, Song Ouyang decided to help me so we took the blueprint to a man versed in the act of drawing plans, he said he would make a fake but I don’t have time at hand so I went back and took the man’s life then forcefully took the original blueprint and gave it to my cousin after he promised not to touch my daughter."

"Oooohhhh."

"Ehhhhhh....."

"Ahhhh."

"Man of Principles." Si Ning called as he turned to the Imperial Tutor. It was a very fast and direct explanation and even though he was the Minister of Justice always full of confidence but with how much he was shaking already shown he was telling the truth but there was no way to confirm it.

"He said the truth." The Imperial Tutor

replied.

It was quite convenient to have a human lie detector so Si Ning now knew those that were guilty, he looked at the Minister of Market Union that woke up and was now shaking in fear.

"And you three caused the attack on the Si residence." Si Ning said, it wasn’t a question. He moved back and climbed the steps just to be on a higher platform than his subordinates but he was getting weak in the legs so he had to use his last strengtht to walk up and sat on the throne.
