The first day of Si Ning’s house arrest was filled with anger, he tried to draw due to boredom but ripped all the papers into shreds and when Yang Sheng came in with his meal, he was surprised to see how Si Ning had turned over the room but without a word he started cleaning the room, it was only Yang Sheng that could enter his room, Ah Dai who was not permitted to come in, he would stay outside to peep into the room each time Yang Sheng opens the door and when Ah Dai lay his eyes on Si Ning, he would always seem relieved then give a small smile to his Master even though Si Ning didn’t return a single smile.

Si Ning learned from Yang Sheng that the dark palanquin was only used to transport any Imperial family the Emperor puts under punishment, he further explained that the palanquin hadn’t been used once since Xiu Zhicheng became an Emperor, he also told Si Ning the dark palanquin was a symbol of a condemned person, that made Si Ning angrier he tore up more paper for Yang Sheng to clean up.

That was how Si Ning wasted the first day not trying to lift his bad mood but kept pooling his anger, letting it build up and the second day, he knew he had to be productive because his anger seemed to have died in his sleep so he sent for Chen An, he needed someone to tell the plan so they could meet with his mother but Yang Sheng came back to inform him that Chen An had gone to arrange the army, leading them outside the city, the army strategist Su Heng was with him, another option Si Ning had was to contact Ji Ran but the third Commander of his army had gone to the garrison, it was a day journey which means if Si Ning sent for him it would likely take a day for him to return so at the end of the day Si Ning was unable to meet them.

This leaves Si Ning with the option of contacting Xiu TianZhao but Yang Sheng came back to tell him Xiu TianZhao had gone out of the city to check the Imperial farm. It seemed Yang Sheng’s reply was accurate which made Si Ning wonder if it was common knowledge for the servants to know the progress of the war. The last person Si Ning thought to inform was Shao Lang but after sending for him, he waited and knowing in the back of his mind that Yang Sheng was going to return to tell him Shao Lang wasn’t around but deep in his heart Si Ning still hoped but Yang Sheng came back and told him Shao Lang had gone to train with the Shao’s army and that left Si Ning feeling bad for the rest of the day because it seemed he was the only one that was idle.

On the First Day Si Ning spent miserable, the second day he spent it looking for ways to contact his Commanders so he wrote letters but tore them up because his letter would cause nothing but distraction but he still wrote one letter and gave it to Yang Sheng to send it to Chen An. It was on the third day Si Ning decided to address the elephant in the room, he entertained all thoughts about Xiu Zhicheng, trying to see from his angle and he realized he was indeed rude to Xiu Zhicheng, he first had the guts to disobey him in the courtroom by speaking up his proposal thinking Xiu Zhicheng mind would waver then he had to go to create trouble in the Imperial study scattering everywhere and he did all this knowing he was special to Xiu Zhicheng and the Emperor would never take drastic action on him. Being sure of this made Si Ning’s mouth dance as they like yet he knew if he had begged Xiu Zhicheng after he called Lin Fan to lock him up then Xiu Zhicheng would probably forgive him but he wanted to act stubborn and that was what he was going to do until Xiu Zhicheng comes to beg him for forgiveness.

Si Ning laughed wickedly, he was wrong but he won’t admit his mistake instead he would let Xiu Zhicheng pamper him after he attain his forgiveness, he needs to apologize for letting the Empress ride the dark palanquin that Yang Sheng told him the whole palace was already talking about it.

"Your Majesty.." Yang Sheng entered the room. "Concubine Ran is here to see Your Majesty." He reported.

"What does she want?" Si Ning asked, all he cares about was for Chen An to show up, he had no time to waste talking to Concubine Ran.

"She made a pot of soup and insisted on giving Your Majesty for Your Majesty to be strong and phase through the correct situation." Yang Sheng replied.

"Tsk." Si Ning clicked his tongue. "Extend my regards to her, tell her I am quite busy preparing to lead the court meeting and run the Nation when his Majesty leaves." He said as he started to shape the apple he was peeling into a rabbit. Yang Sheng was still waiting but Si Ning decided to ignore him.

"Your Majesty, Concubine Ran came with the Second Prince." Yang Sheng said after some time.

Si Ning paused what he was doing, seeing Xiu Yan would make him happy and he was sure the boy would be happy to see his rabbit-shaped apples. "Give Concubine Ran my message also tell her that I am only allowed to see a visitor a day and today I have scheduled a visitor to see." He said, he would love to see Xiu Yuan but first, he needed to see Chen An, the day marking the third day means the Qiu Bai guard was going to show up and he needed to talk to Chen An before that.

"Yes Your Majesty." Yang Sheng said, he bowed and left.

Si Ning had already wasted his first and second days so he was determined to make a progress before the end of the day. "Anybody out there!" He called out feeling quite impatient to wait for Yang Sheng to deliver his message first before sending him on an errand.

The door opened to reveal Ah Dai standing outside the door, making sure he wasn’t stepping in.

"Young Master." Ah Dai said sounding glad to be called.

"Ah Dai, check if Chen An is back and bring him here immediately if not check Su Heng or Ji Ran, any of them must come." Si Ning said.

"Yes, Young Master." Ah Dai replied and left immediately.

Si Ning threw a fine rabbit shape into his mouth, it was like a pain to eat a fine apple he cut out from an apple with a mix of green and yellow. He chew slowly, savoring the taste, he was eating the last piece when he heard some ruckus outside and Si Ning suddenly stood up because what he heard was a female voice, he had no need for Concubine Ran barging into his room so he took the matter into his hand by running to lock the door but the door slide opened when he almost reached it so he stopped and found himself facing Concubine Liu MingXia.

"I am here to save you elder brother!" Concubine Liu declared as she sat on the floor outside the door, she snapped her finger and her handmaiden extended a big bag to her which she opened bringing out different sizes and shapes of boards, pieces of stones, sticks, wooden shaped figures.

Si Ning raised a brow as he watches what Concubine Liu was doing. "What are you doing?"

"I brought all the most popular games in Xiu to play with you, I won’t cross to your room, elder brother just needs to push the board if elder brother needs to play a further side and with this, we didn’t break any rule." Liu MingXia explained with a genuine smile plastered on her face.

Si Ning listened to her explanation and nodded. "Well." He also sat on the floor and then pointed to the Go-cart board.

Concubine Liu smiled brightly to show how happy she was for Si Ning’s sudden interest to engage what she didn’t know was Si Ning had been bored out of his mind, she quickly placed the go board between the doorway, half of the board at Si Ning’s side and half on her side.

Si Ning had no idea but when they started playing it seemed they both entered into a god mode and the game was intense Yang Sheng came to watch. Time was nothing to them as they played, none of them getting close to winning. "Uh?" He grunted when one of his pieces was taken out.

"Being the daughter of the Prince of Luoyang doesn’t mean I don’t know all these battle strategies." Liu MingXia smirked.

"Young Master we have arrived." Ah Dai announced, he moved closer to Yang Sheng to check what was going on then his eyes enlarged when he saw that Si Ning was sitting on the floor.

Finally, Chen An had arrived so Si Ning raised a hand as a sign to Ah Dai to let him concentrate as he felt a presence brush past him, entering his room.

"We will continue this next time MingXia, I have an important meeting now." Si Ning said impressed by Concubine Liu’s Go-playing techniques. He wouldn’t mind playing till one of them wins but he had pressing matters at hand.

"Okay elder brother. I will never move a piece on this board, this is a match that needs to be continued."

It was hard for Si Ning to leave the game but he had to, he turned expecting to see Chen An but who he saw was.
