Si Ning stopped when he heard what Xiu Zhicheng said, he turned sharply, his eyes widened, he doesn’t think he had ever been so shocked as he currently was, the meaning of house arrest he knew was being locked in his residence which means being locked in the Jasmine Palace. "You can’t do that!" He shouted.

"Yes, I can." Xiu Zhicheng said calmly before turning his attention to Lin Fan. "Make sure he is locked in his room in the Jasmine palace and only allowed to see one visitor in a day, he mustn’t step out from his room but the moment you find out he steps a foot outside his door, cut off the heads of those responsible for it."

Si Ning’s face turned red in anger knowing he was going to be limited to only his room, only his room! "Xiu Zhicheng! You cannot do that!" He complained.

Si Ning had plans to set in motion, being locked in his room wasn’t going to help him and worst being allowed to see only one visitor per day, with this limitation there was no way to progress his plan that was at the tender stage all up in his brain. He didn’t do anything wrong and why must he be punished? if it was a punishment for seeing Qiu Bai then it should be overruled because that happened a long time ago and it was when Xiu and Xilie’s relationship was smooth so seeing Qiu Bai wasn’t a crime, if it was a crime because he was already the King Consort and going to see another man in a tavern then Si Ning was ready to defend himself because Xiu Zhicheng named him King Consort without his consent so seeing Qiu Bai could never be a crime.

"I gave you a duty because I am the Emperor and I will let you sit in your room till you realize your wrong doings." Xiu Zhicheng told Si Ning as he went back to the table, the table was already a mess made by Si Ning, he bent and picked up the ring that was on the floor.

Si Ning stomped his feet on the floor like a spoilt child and took a step forward but he was blocked by Lin Fan extending one arm.

"I did nothing wrong." SI Ning complained now interesting in the crime Xiu Zhicheng was going to charge him with.

"Refusing to do the duties given to you by the Emperor, walking out on the Emperor, going against the Emperor, yelling at the Emperor, complaining rudely to the Emperor, acting spoilt, your crime today list is so long so you will sit in your room and reflect, your house arrest will end only when I leave the palace." Xiu Zhicheng said as he opened his drawer, he brought out a pouch and placed the ring in it. "Lin Fan."

Before Si Ning knows what was happening six hidden guards showed up dressed in black, their faces were half-covered only their eyes were revealed. Si Ning took a step back not knowing what was going to happen, he was not ready to be hauled outside, he still had a lot more to say but Xiu Zhicheng’s back was turned to him going about his business.

Si Ning was unable to take a step forward as he felt his heart being shattered into pieces, it was so painful in his chest he wanted to scream and the heart pain got worst because Xiu Zhicheng refused to look at him just to show they were done with their conversation and to avoid embarrassment Si Ning walked out of the Imperial study, he didn’t look back even though he was dying to see if Xiu Zhicheng would probably turn to look at him but now that he was outside he would never know, it was quite painful that Xiu Zhicheng didn’t give him back his ring so he lowered his head to look at his empty ring finger, a feeling of loss overwhelmed him.

Si Ning repeated to himself, he held his head high as he walked like he did nothing wrong, Steward Yu with the two guards bowed as Si Ning walked past them, it was only Lin Fan that was leading him to a waiting palanquin, he had no idea where the hidden guards had gone but there was another issue to tend to which was the dark palanquin he was currently facing, so dark it seemed like it was the darkest black Si Ning had ever seen, the palanquin was so small it almost seemed like a prison and worst the bearers were all dressed in black with half of their face covered, they saluted him before resuming their stance.

The palanquin looking so dark was suspicious and looked so uncomfortable Si Ning didn’t want to enter it but when he tried to go around it, Lin Fan blocked his way again by extending his arm.

"Your Majesty please use the palanquin." Lin Fan said politely as he gestured to the palanquin.

Si Ning knew that Lin Fan was giving him no choice, he had no idea of what was going to happen if he refused, he as the Empress has his Pride and he would never stoop so low to fight a subordinate, to avoid creating a scene he sighed and entered, his head first hit the roof before he sat down and just as he expected, there wasn’t a cushion in it, it was just a hardwood floor, the roof was too close he had to bend his head down to avoid straining his neck, the palanquin was cramped he had to cross his legs to be comfortable but he wasn’t comfortable at all.

To make the matter worst the bearers started walking so slow that if he and Lin Fan had gone by feet they would have arrived at the Jasmine Palace. For some reason Si Ning felt uneasy, his legs were starting to cramp up, his neck was starting to pain him he had to turn his head to the left then right, it didn’t help so he went back to just dropping his head, watching his hands yet seeing his right-hand ring finger bare, his heart went cold, he felt like his heart was ice that someone was chipping away at it and that someone was Xiu Zhicheng.

Si Ning took a few deep breaths to get rid of his thought as he both physically and mentally came back to the present, he felt like he was being watched and the palanquin was gathering a large amount of attention so he opened the tiny thin window to peep outside and check only to see two palace maidens pointing at the palanquin while whisperings at each other ears, they weren’t the only ones because a palace maiden hid behind a tree following the palanquin like she was curious about where it was going and a manservant that saw the window that was opened stared so much like he was trying to figure out who was in it, just like that Si kept seeing guards and palace servants around watching the palanquin curiously.

All that Si Ning saw outside made him understand that the palanquin does not represent anything good. Not having Xiao Pei by his side was affecting him so much he cling his fist till his knuckles turned white, he wished he had protested and refused to enter the palanquin, the worst Lin Fan could do was to fight him which Si Ning doubts were going to ever happen.

Si Ning closed the window shut, he felt a slight pain in his neck and the moment he noticed the palanquin gently placed on the ground, he jumped out immediately, he blinked and first laid his eyes on Yang Sheng and Ah Dai who were in the courtyard clearly waiting for him and the moment Ah Dai saw him drop out from the palanquin, he fell on his knees with his mouth hanging open even Yang Sheng looked shocked. The rest of the servants in the courtyard all stopped what they were doing, they seemed shocked that one holding a basket filled with flowers got frozen at his spot the basket fell and the flowers poured even a servant wetting the plants also stopped that the bowl of water he was carrying spill as he rescued the bowl from hitting the ground.

"Young Master..." Ah Dai called slowly when Si Ning was about to reach him.

Si Ning ignored Ah Dai and walked in straight to his bedroom, immediately he got in he expected Lin Fan to lock the door but he didn’t hear anything like the door being locked so he moved to the door and listened, placing his ear on the door and he heard Lin Fan telling Yang Sheng he was under a house arrest and only allowed one visitor per day, he mustn’t be allowed to step out of the room even one step or the Servants suffers would all the consequences.

Si Ning hissed as he went to sit by the table, today he had been humiliated he would never forgive Xiu Zhicheng.
