Si Ning didn’t bother to speak nor stand and his face suddenly became brighter as he smiled a little when Ah Dai came into the room and he perceived the aroma of a freshly baked cake but his smile fell when he sat up and saw the fat document Ah Dai was holding. He blinked as his stomach growled loudly as he watched Ah Dai place a small plate of cake on the table next to the bed.

"Forgive me, Young Master, this is the document Commander Ji Ran left this evening." Ah Dai said as he quickly handed the documents to Si Ning. "Ah Dai will go and get Young Master’s meal."

"Bring me everything eatable." Si Ning said as he opened the documents.

"Yes, Young Master."

Si Ning shifted to be closer to the lantern as he grabbed the piece of cake on the table and started eating it, if he wasn’t with a document he would have closed his eyes to savor the taste instead he opened the first page and read through it, it was the list of those that were present at the meeting. Si Ning started to read through it and he heard Ah Dai come in, the aroma of marinated chicken soup filled the room.

Si Ning was already halfway reading the documents for him to notice Ah Dai had been going out and coming in and each time different aroma kept occupying the space.

First, it was a hotpot aroma then boiled sweetcorn but now the air was filled with a different aroma, this made Si Ning close the documents, standing up to check what was going on and his jaw dropped when he saw the massive plates of food on the table.

"Stir-fried rice cake, rice cake soup, grilled beef tripe, bean sprout soup, dried pollack soup, Cobb salad, avocado salad, salmon salad with olive oil, chicken porridge, fried rice wrapped in an egg omelet, ice sugar gourd, stir-fried cartilage, ox-blood soup, steamed egg, fried tofu, bone broth, braised short ribs, sweet and sour spare ribs, double-cooked pork slices, soy-braised pork, fried crabs and lobsters... "

At this moment Si Ning’s jaw dropped as he stopped talking only for the door to open with Ah Dai carrying a plate of fish crackers. "Wait wait wait wait wait...!" He stopped Ah Dai before he could put the plate down.

"Master, is there anything not to your liking?" Ah Dai asked, worry and concern were written all over his face.

"Who will eat all this?" Si Ning had to ask because if Ah Dai says it was only him then he would collapse right in front of the food.

"I didn’t see Young Master this morning, Young Master didn’t eat before the meeting and Young Master only ate a little from the snacks Ah Dai made in the afternoon because Young Master refuses to follow Ah Dai to the Jasmine palace to eat a proper meal, Young Master must be tired and hungry that is why Young Master must eat very well." Ah Dai explained.

"Ah Dai you will leave the best dishes you think is among them and take the rest to eat with the rest of the house." Si Ning said hoping he didn’t hurt Ah Dai’s feelings. There was no way he could stand looking at the varieties without standing up to taste everything.

"But everything is delicious and Ah Dai made sure it is all to Young Master’s liking." Ah Dai said quickly.

"I know and I appreciate it and I will eat a lot but leave just a main dish and a few side dishes for me." Si Ning said, he was already salivating but he doesn’t want to be in a situation where the Imperial Doctor had to be called or Xiu Zhicheng had to come to take care of him.

The Palace was in a state of emergency and Si Ning knew he was needed healthy, he doesn’t want to get sick for days to come and miss the whole preparation or not be able to function when needed, he might even find himself in a situation where the Palace would gossip more about him.

Ah Dai that didn’t talk made Si Ning raise his head and he wasn’t even shocked to see that Ah Dai seemed to be on the verge of tears, he knew Ah Dai was so dramatic and before he could start crying, Si Ning took his seat, he took a long spoon and dip it in the spicy chicken soup and siped it.

"Mmmm...." Si Ning closed his eyes savoring the taste. "This is delicious." He said as he started eating without uttering any complaints or giving instructions.

This seemed to brighten up Ah Dai’s mood that he quickly poured a cup of non-alcoholic wine for Si Ning, he smiled as he placed it right on the table and even proceed to start picking out dishes for Si Ning to eat.

Si Ning kept repeating like a mantra as he devour just a little of each food until he was filled that was when Ah Dai was happy to clear the table leaving only a small slice of cake. When the last piece of the plate was cleared did Si Ning stand up to go to sleep after resting a little, he laid on his bed and closed his eyes, it wasn’t up to a minute when he flung his eyes open and flipped backward grabbing his hairpin on the table, he jumped out of bed because he felt a presence in the room and now he wished he had his sword instead.

"Your Majesty." The intruder was in the darkness and refused to come out to the light.

Si Ning wondered who they could be but he knew wondering would get him no where so he opened his mouth and asked. "Who are you?"
