Chapter 92: If the bottle breaks...(Annabelle)

The witches attacked his tribe," Gaius informed me. Zach was descending the stairs due to the commotion and had also caught a hint of it. "Which witches?" He asked with a dark expression.

"Could it be Madam Superior behind it? She disappeared after all," I questioned. Zach nodded. "Indeed, it can only be her." Then he gazed at Gaius. "This tribe is in your hands. I will go with him."

Gaius seemed desperate for blood, but being an order from his Alpha, he obeyed. "Okay, but please be careful."

"I will stand with you, Alpha Zach and Zion," Thadeus said from where he stood. Everyone was stunned as he added, "at least until we end the reign of witches. They planned to rule the world, we included."

His reason for wanting to join the fight was justified, but I was curious. "You said my dad was coming over."

"I will tell my dad to bring him to the Lunar Echoes tribe," he said seriously. My mother appeared on top of the stairs. "Then I would like to see him one last time."

Her behavior was strange, but there was no time to question her further. We entrusted Zeke to the safety of Gaius, so it was a good thing he had a gamma to help him.

We decided to go in wolf form, but the only problem was mom. Due to that, a warrior had to drive her to the tribe.

Arriving beforehand, darkness had covered the Luna Echoes Tribe, and just as we expected, it was Madam Superior.

Tribe members were going here and there, as if they had no idea what was going on.

"Where is Madai?" I asked Zion. He whispered, "he’s hiding in the safe house with Elisa and Apphia. They have no protection against spells," he said in a deflated tone. Thaddeus sighed and assured him.

"Don’t worry. We shall go ahead to look for the witch, but there should be a way of communication."

Zion pursed his lips, contemplating on what to do because giving Lycans access to mind link in his tribe was a dangerous thing to do.

"Are you sure I can trust you?" He asked in a sad tone. Curtis responded on Cyril’s behalf. "Everybody thinks we are dangerous, but we are the most trustworthy kind. We don’t go back on our words."

Feeling assured, Zion entered into a blood covenant to allow everyone privy to the mind link before we were able to spread across the tribe.

"Hey, what’s going on?" I asked one of the tribe members. We used to work together at the factory, but the look in her eyes made it seem as if I was asking a strange question.

"Can’t you see how good the tribe has been? Madam Superior is doing an amazing job."

Through his words, I caught a hint of what was happening and informed the others. ’She cast a spell to make them like her.’

I could feel Zach’s anger through the bond as he responded, ’Then we pretend we like her too. The plan is to get to her and whoever she’s working with.’

Smart move, so I agreed and informed another tribe member. "Madam Superior is doing great, and I would like to go thank her. Do you think she’ll be sleeping by now?"

"If she’s sleeping, then she deserves it, but she said the packhouse isn’t comfortable and has been making some changes. I hope she makes it better for her comfort."

From the looks of it, the witch was in the pack house, so I informed the rest, and they all moved there from different directions.

We had to disguise as happy tribe members, though knowing Madam Superior might not let us in.

Still, the maids did when we informed them we were very good friends of Madam Superior. They couldn’t even recognize their Alpha.

Somehow, I blamed myself. Had it not been for me, things would not have come to this. Zion left his tribe for my safety, and had he been here, something like this would have never happened.

"You dare to show your face here after you almost killed me?" Madam Superior’s voice echoed through the pack house. Zach glared at her.

"This tribe belongs to my twin brother, and trust me, you won’t escape this time."

Her head raised as she descended the stairs elegantly, this time in a black flowy gown.

As pretty as she looked, evil resonated in her eyes. "Too late for that, Alpha Zach. I’ve grown stronger than you think. You missed your chance, and it’s time for my revenge."

Before Zach could speak, four more strangers descended the stairs, and I knew they were witches too.

"Alpha, you are back," I heard Madai’s voice. Madam Superior screamed at the sight of him. It was not because she was afraid of Madai, but because of what he held in his hand.

"You. I thought you left," she said miserably. Madai smiled. "I went to get this, and sure, once you are locked in it, we shall throw you inside the sea."

It was just an empty bottle, and I wondered how he was going to lock Madam Superior in it, but that was the least of my worries because warriors invaded the pack house to attack us.

"Please don’t kill them. They are my warriors," Zion pleaded when we began to defend ourselves, but Madam Superior was laughing hysterically, and her minions were trying to take the bottle from Madai.

"I need help. If the bottle breaks before I recite the words, it won’t work, and we can’t defeat them. They will disappear anytime we overpower them."

Indeed, he was right. The moment my claws elongated, the witch would disappear, and with more and more warriors coming in, it was hard because we couldn’t kill them.

It took no time before they regained consciousness. ’Let’s lure them out of the pack house,’ Zach mindlinked. I was about to move when he added, "Thadeus, please stay and help the beta to protect the bottle."

Outside, I understood the reason for Zach’s suggestion. The moment Zion shifted, the warriors halted. Due to the spell, they weren’t shifting, rather looking afraid.

It was as if they just saw something strange. ’It’s working. What next Zach?’ Zion asked through mindlink with a relief sigh. Zach sounded annoyed. ’Isn’t this your tribe? You should help Madai to activate whatever he wanted to use to trap Madam Superior.’

’On it,’ Zion mindlinked. I followed him for some reason and was glad I did. The atmosphere was thick with spells and incantations, even Thadeus was finding it hard to withstand, and I was glad to unblock Sai.

’You have to shift,’ she said seriously. I cautioned her. ’It’s against the rules. We don’t shift indoors.’

’Then you can watch the witches take over,’ she said in annoyance. I contemplated as she added, ’I know you miss May, but I’m a Dire wolf with abilities you know nothing about.’

That gave me hope, so I didn’t argue and obliged, allowing Sai to take control. The moment she did, the witches were screaming from her mere appearance.

"A dire wolf? I thought the last one died," Madam Superior said from shock, anger blazing in her eyes. But that was when Madai took advantage of the whole thing, reciting the incantation.

Madam Superior and her agents screamed, turning to smoke, as they were billowed into the bottle in a smoke form before crumbling when they settled at the bottom.

As soon as Madai closed it, five witches including Madam Superior were trapped inside, hitting the walls of the bottle and begging to come out.

"Please, I’ll give you anything if you let us out," she pleaded, but Madai smiled. "The only place you are needed is inside the sea, and that is where you will be."

The darkness around the whole tribe dissipated, joy returned, but the tribe members were clueless of all that had happened.

"Bella," a familiar voice spoke before I was engulfed in two tight embraces. They were Apphia and Elisa.

"It’s good to have you back, Bella. Did you put that arrogant Alpha in his place?" Elisa asked, but before I could respond, Zach entered, and her head lowered.

"She’s entitled to her opinion," Zion defended his mate, as he kissed her on the lips, but Zach looked rather excited. "Well, she’ll spend the rest of her life putting the arrogant Alpha in his place," he replied. Everyone laughed as Elisa reminded me.

"Your coronation. The guests should be at your tribe now." I had forgotten and hadn’t realized so much time had passed already.

However, Thadeus had news. "Your father is here but hasn’t entered. He and your mom have been having an argument when the war was going on."

I was torn between my desperation of seeing my father and making it on time for my coronation, and for some reason, I chose the latter. "Let’s talk at the Crimson Moon Tribe."
