Chapter 91: She’s gone, Alpha, she’s gone (Annabelle)

Chapter 91: She’s gone, Alpha, she’s gone (Annabelle)

The menace of Ivy and Iris, the twin sisters of the twin Alphas, Zach and Zion. However, any evil befell us in the forms of not only their parents but also Madam Superior, the queen of all evil.

This was our third meeting, the first being when I knelt in front of her coven for the elixir for Zach, the second being when she met us on the way here, and the third being now.

"Didn’t anyone tell you that witches aren’t allowed in my tribe?" Zach questioned, without exhibiting the slightest fear.

Madam Superior’s voice was filled with anger as it echoed through the tribe. "I’ve always operated freely here without your knowing. I guess the blind can see now."

Zach was upset, but for some reason, I didn’t want to interfere. "Yes, the blind can see, and I can guess you are a contributing factor to what I did to my mate. Not even you, Madam Superior, can escape. You are not leaving here alive."

His voice turned cold, emitting fear, but Madam Superior laughed through it. "Witches and vampires are the same. Your son and mother-in-law are vampires, so how can I not be welcome?"

I saw where she was driving at, and it wasn’t fair on Zach, so I intervened. "It’s your fault, so you dare not accuse him."

"How is it my fault?" Her attention shifted to me. Dressed in an all-white outfit, she would pass for an angel, but it turns out appearances are indeed deceptive.

"If you hadn’t interfered by using those charms, then Zach would have known from the very beginning that we were mates and I carried his pup. My other instincts would have died before birthing Zeke, and he would not have suffered being a chimera."

The thought of it reminded me of May. Ever since rejecting Thadeus, I blocked Sai because of guilt. May was so good to me and chose Zach, which made me reject her, and for that, I wanted some time away from my wolf.

Still, I won’t be able to hold it for long once all this is over. Being a chimera was never my dream. I have to unblock my wolf because I miss her so much.

"This is the reason you both should never have come together," Madam Superior said in anger. Zach retorted, "This is the moon goddess’s design, so how dare you try to separate us?"

"Well, you two would have to separate or give me your son," she requested. I was so angry that I found it funny and laughed.

"Why are you laughing?" she asked me. I stared at her. "All my life, you’ve been hunting me down but failed miserably. Do you think you can hurt my son in front of me and his father? Madam Superior, the only reason you are after us is because we are stronger than you."

His gaze darkened but instantly glowed. I saw Zeke walking towards her and pulled him back. "You shall not have my son."

Zach realized what was happening and quickly covered us with his tall, muscular frame. "Gaius, protect them," he instructed before hastening away and charging towards Madam Superior.

For the first time, I saw fear in her dark eyes. "How is this possible? No one has ever been able to counter my spell," she whispered, but I heard and reminded her.

"You must have forgotten about the elixir in his system. With me here, it activates its hidden powers as the giver and receiver’s bond.

"I didn’t know about this," she said under her breath when Gaius covered us with his form. However, I pushed him away. "Protect Zeke. I can take her on."

Seeing my determination, Madam Superior was about to disappear when I reached Zach, but he quickly shifted and pinned her down.

This was my first time seeing his wolf, and it was fierce, more of a lethal black kind.

His fingers had already ripped Madam Superior’s throat, leaving her without an ounce of breath. "Alpha killed Madam Superior," Gaius yelled in shock, and the tribe members roared in excitement. "Alpha killed Madam Superior."

Zach was only realizing what he had done because he looked stunned upon seeing the lifeless body on the floor. "I killed her? I thought she’d be harder to kill."

Indeed, that’s what we all thought, but I think his victory stemmed from the fact that Madam Superior didn’t expect Zach and my presence to counter her spell.

This was the reason he did it so easily, but our joy was short-lived when one of the warriors pointed out. "She’s gone, Alpha, she’s gone."

"It doesn’t matter. We can deal with her later, but I’m sure she’ll never show her face here ever again," I informed them, earning Zach’s smile.

"Thank you, mate," he said teasingly. I chuckled as his attention turned back to his parents, and his smile from before vanished.

"Toss them into the brazen bull," he announced. No amount of pleading saved his parents from the brazen bull, and Zion agreed through it all.

Mom looked happy, but I always felt there was something off and asked her, "Mom, is there anything you want to tell me?"

She smiled, but it didn’t reach her eyes. "It’s been long, but you can still determine my emotions."

I chuckled. "DNA doesn’t lie." Her smile turned bitter. "DNA can also deceive." Her genuine smile returned. "Belle, you and Zeke are in good hands. After the coronation, I’ll no longer be needed."

"But where will you go?" I choked on my last words, wondering why she wouldn’t just stay.

"When the time is right, I will share my dream with you," she said. I nodded.

Four deaths were recorded from close families today, and yet, the tribe was in a celebratory mood.

We decided to have dinner together to celebrate all that transpired, especially after Thaddeus was discharged from the hospital. This is the reason why Lycans are so dangerous.

He healed so fast, and together with Curtis, they seemed to be communicating with someone. When I got tired of wondering what it was, my attention diverted to Zach, who was making some special food arrangements for Zeke.

"You carried Mom, making me wonder what happened to your allergies."

He poured a glass of carrot juice in a glass and turned to face me. "I acted on impulse and have no idea why I didn’t, but I guess it’s a DNA thing. There must be something special in your DNA that kills it," he shrugged. It was the only reasonable explanation, so I swallowed it.

Dinner was one of the best I’ve ever had because all of my loved ones were here with me.

"Belle, the designer will be here for your dress fitting tomorrow, and you, my little warrior, will be fitted too," he said with profound delight that radiated through the ambiance.

"I’m glad everything is perfect. I will leave as soon as the coronation is over," Zion informed us. I was a little saddened.

"I’m gonna miss you, big brother." I walked over to his side and embraced him. He pulled me onto his lap and kissed the top of my head. To me, it felt natural, but Zach seemed to be losing his cool.

"Can you go back to your seat?" he sounded irritated, or was it jealousy? Well, Zion didn’t make it easy, his grip tightening around my waist.

"And if she doesn’t?"

"I won’t dare Zach if I were you," Gaius cautioned. Zion quickly released me. "Come on, Zach, Bella is like a kid sister to me now, and with our blood sisters’ betrayals, she’s all we have."

His words killed something inside Zach, and his anger dissipated. "You are right. I’m sorry. Had it not been you, she would have..." his last words were drowned by a silent internal battle.

I was feeling it because of the mate bond. His tears, pain, and something worse. I went to his side and quickly embraced him. "It’s over. Don’t beat yourself," I pleaded with him. He buried his face in the crook of my neck, and I felt his vulnerability.

"I’ll go eat in my room," I heard Zeke say. I was about to tell him not to, but by the time I turned around, everyone had left the table with their plates.

Embarrassment washed over me, and I could feel my cheeks heat up, but Zach only trapped me on his thighs, sealing his lips with mine.

The kiss grew passionate, and before I knew it, we were in the bedroom with our clothes scattered about.

The next day, it was just as he said. I had my fitting done, and everything was perfect. However, Zach had not forgiven those healers, and they came to report their proposed punishment, but my attention was shifted by the information I had from Thadeus.

"Your father wants to see you, but I’m not sure your mother would agree."

For whatever reason, I wanted to see my father, so I agreed. "I’d like to hear his side of the story." Before he could say another word, Zion was rushing down the stairs, and Gaius was behind him.

"I’m going with you."

"Wo, wo, wo, wait up," I caught up to them and asked seriously, "what’s going on?"

"The witches attacked his tribe," Gaius informed me. Zach was descending the stairs due to the commotion and had also caught a whiff of it. "Which witches?" He asked with a dark expression.
