Chapter 55: Anonymous POV

We were on the verge of success when the crimson moon appeared, causing everything to fall apart. Since then, our efforts have been in vain, no matter how hard we try.

"We are doomed. Despite all our efforts, that pup was born. He’s unlike any other and will be our downfall."

When we discovered the pregnancy, we attempted to use Alpha Zach to eliminate it, through the anti-allergy elixir but the pup miraculously survived.

My subordinates looked at me blankly, unable to offer any viable solutions. We had come so far, only to see everything crumble before us.

"Why are you all just staring? Don’t you have anything to contribute?" My frustration boiled over, as I felt the weight of the situation pressing down on me.

Failure in this mission could result in a humiliating demotion and a thousand years of imprisonment.

How could they be so indifferent? If we don’t eliminate that pup and its mother, we will all be destroyed.

The mother deceived us by hiding her so well, making it impossible for us to strike even when we suspected her. By the time we uncovered the truth, she had already found safety.

We observed the events at the Lunar Echoes tribe through our monitoring mirror, and fear gripped everyone. "Mother Superior, why don’t we kill the pup? We still have some control over Alpha Zach because of the portion Kari added to his flavors," one of my servants finally made a meaningful suggestion.

"That pup must die by fair or foul means," I agreed. "Indeed, but the spell is breaking and that flavor is running out. If it’s replaced, we shall no longer have a hold on him."

"We must infiltrate his territory through those closest to him, but that Beta of his is severing our connections. We need to find a way to expose him and drive him away from Alpha Zach. Any suggestions?"

It took me a long time to notice, and if not for his conversation with Alpha Zion, we wouldn’t have discovered his secret. Now, what do we do? We must ensure to use it against him. With Beta Gaius gone, we cannot have complete access to Alpha Zach, despite his new gamma.

"Mother Superior, send me to the Crimson Moon tribe. I can take care of that," one of my subordinates volunteered, but the pup was a bigger problem.

"We succeeded in tearing Annabelle from him, but the pup will bring them together, and we can’t let that happen. I need someone to pose as a professional nanny. Kill the pup," I roared, and they scrambled on the floor to do my bidding.

"Annabella, you will never be better than me. You took the only man I ever loved, and even after tearing you both apart, you had the guts to bring his seed into the world. Because of that, he has been sick and useless. I will make you pay for birthing your kind. Your daughter, Annabelle, must pay the ultimate price for your wrongdoing."

She might not be able to hear me, but this is my exact plan for her. Just as we did to her, we shall do to her daughter and make sure she doesn’t meet Alpha Zach ever again.

Just like her mother, she must live her life in solitude. "Mother Superior, what about Alpha Zion? He believes in her too much and is protective of her. Who knows? He might even marry her," another of my subordinates hinted, but I smiled.

"I know, and I already have a solution to that. His mate is close, but before they meet, you have to make sure that she consumes the elixir of destruction. Let’s see how he would continue to protect the chimera after meeting his destined mate."

As they were about to disperse, something else came to mind, so I informed them, "I need Kari here. She mustn’t birth Reid’s pup at the Umbra Kin’s tribe as that will weaken her and the pup."

Our kind should always be birthed away from the tribes, and I still can’t get over what Alpha Zach did to Reid. However, since Kari is going to birth Reid’s pup, I can make him believe Kari’s pup is rather his.

Yes, why didn’t I think about it that way before? "Change of plans. I need the chimera’s pup here alive."

Alpha Zach will know what it feels like to destroy our kind the way he did to Reid, and as for Kari, I have to intensify the charm for him to see her as the one he loves and forget all those investigations.

"Dark child," I called out. One of my loyal servants walked up to me. Here, we refrain from using their real names, with each of them having a code name. At your service, Madam Superior," was her candid response, and I smiled.

"Set all the investigation reports on fire. Make sure Alpha Zach has no recollection of Kari’s actions. After she delivers her pup, she must return to the Crimson Moon tribe, stronger than ever," I declared. However, she seemed hesitant, much to my dismay.

"Madam Superior, then I will have to wait until after the dark lord finishes his part. Beta Gaius is still there, and his support for Alpha Zach is unparalleled."

I almost forgot about that. "Okay, but as soon as the dark lord completes his part, you must fulfill your part as well," I instructed. They nodded before I dismissed them.

Perhaps it’s time for me to meet Annabella one last time. Facing my magic mirror, I vanished and reappeared in front of her new cave.

"Madam Superior, what brings you here?" she asked. I smiled inwardly. "Wake up, Annabella. It’s over for your daughter," I informed her, unsurprised by her shocked expression.

"I don’t understand. I’ve done all I can to control her thirst for blood and aversion to sunlight," she hinted, and my smile widened. It pained me to see that she was still as beautiful as when she stole my man because they were mates.

"Annabella, I’m Jessica," I revealed, and darkness clouded her eyes. "What have you done to my daughter? I will kill you today," she raged, rising to her feet. The cave was her stronghold because of its darkness, but I was prepared for her.

I removed the LED light I had brought along, turned it on, and she sought refuge in the darkest part of her cave.

"Stay away from me," she yelled. I smiled and informed her, "From today, I’m lifting my protection over your daughter. Let’s see how she survives."

"No," she yelled, but I had not even started yet. "It’s time for you to die," I revealed.

If she dies, I can assume her form and tell Alpha Zach that Kari is the girl who saved him. With my initial plan failing, this seemed like the only way out.

However, as I lifted my silver blade to stab her, a strong arm grabbed mine. No, it can’t be. "You, what are you doing here?"
