Crimson Moon Redemption: My Alpha's Brutal Mistake -
Chapter 52: Please tell me her name (Alpha Zach)
Chapter 52: Please tell me her name (Alpha Zach)
Beads of sweat covered my face despite the low temperature of the air conditioner. What kind of strange dream was that? That witch, my mate? Over my dead body. She dared to utter the rejection words first, as if I was going to grapple over her.
It must be one of her tricks. If she thinks using witchcraft will make me like her even a bit, then she’s a joker.
My inability to find the slightest hint of the girl who saved me saddened me. Her mother said she usually leaves clues but was upset with me because I had still not found her.
What pierced my heart were her last words. "If you’ve not found her, then she must be suffering by now. I still feel her, which means she’s alive."
"Please tell me her name," I implored her, but she stared sadly at me from her cave. "If I tell you, then you don’t deserve her. She didn’t care about your name when she saved you, but I already gave you enough clues. Red hair and immense strength."
"This cave doesn’t look comfortable. Please come with me," I begged her, but once again, she shook her head. "I can’t. Until she becomes your Luna, I’ll have to continue paying the price for the protection she’s enjoying."
Those words were bleak, but that was all I could get from her. Our last meeting was three months ago, and just last week, I went to search for her again, but she was nowhere to be found.
From what I heard, she continuously moved from one cave to another.
My heart burned with the pain of her daughter suffering, when I was ready to give her everything and make her my Luna. If only Kari hadn’t deceived me, perhaps I would have found her by now.
How I wish Iris was here, but that witch took her from me, and now all I feel is the pain of losing my beloved sister and my inability to find the girl who saved my life.
As if Zion’s stubbornness and torment weren’t enough, the witch still had the audacity to infiltrate my dreams and make me think she was my mate, but she should keep dreaming.
The only person fit to be my mate is the one who gave me life, and I will find her, no matter how long it takes. I stepped into the shower room to cool off from the heat after getting out of bed when I heard Gaius’s voice. "Alpha, we have a problem," he said.
It’s disheartening how problems seem to persist within my tribe due to my failure to locate the red-haired girl. With the current situation, I must continue hunting to expand my tribe since I have prohibited pregnancy.
No matter the problem, I have the skills to resolve them, even if the solution is temporary.
"Handle the problem," I responded in irritation from the shower room, but Gaius interrupted, "Alpha, your brother is here, and he says it’s urgent."
My fists clenched, and I turned off the water. "What did you say?"
How dare Zion infiltrate my tribe? Was it not enough for him to usurp my Alpha position and exile me from the Lunar Echoes Tribe?
"Give me a few minutes," I replied, quickly exiting the bathroom to find something to wear. In the living room, Zion lounged on my sofa, appearing relaxed.
He must have arrived by car rather than in wolf form, as he was not dressed for an emergency.
"What do you want here?" I growled, to which he simply smiled and said, "Relax, big brother, I’m here to talk." We had nothing to talk about, and I was eager to get him out of my pack house. "Get out," I commanded.
He stood up, smiling weakly, and I noticed how tired he looked, despite his regal attire that had masked it before.
"I must commend you for the hard work done. Your tribe is outstanding," he complimented. However, if he knew the curse we battled, he would understand that material things meant nothing to me.
"You aren’t welcome here," I pointed out. He smiled. "I know, but Zach, your pup looks exactly like you," he said, causing my knees to weaken. "What did you say?"
"You heard me. Bella went into a coma after delivering your pup, so we connected with you through the mark you gave her to save her," he revealed. I instantly understood where that strange dream came from.
"So, it was you." Anger burned within me as he nodded. I grabbed him by the collar and pinned him against the wall, but he made no attempt to free himself.
"Do your worst, Zach, but the sooner you realize your mistakes, the better. You almost killed the woman who gave you life, and you tried to kill your own pup," he continued.
I threw him harshly against the opposite wall, and he groaned but still didn’t try to fight back. "Bella has her wolf now. Why don’t you try meeting her?"
Was he digging her grave? The only thing fitting for the witch is death, and I will gladly give it to her if we dare to meet again, face to face.
"If you are so sure, then why didn’t you bring her?" I asked. He chuckled. "To the lion’s den? Never. I can let you see her in my territory, though she doesn’t want anything to do with you."
How hypocritical. "She doesn’t want anything to do with me, and yet you want me to see her?"
"Bella doesn’t know I’m here, but just to let you know, if you had a one-night stand, so did Bella. She wore a wig at the party, but I guess you were so wild that you tore her dress and misplaced her wig.
Her red hair was exposed by then, but to hide it, she had to dye it with herbs. Zach, I don’t care if you believe me or not, but I’m giving you one chance to make things right," he said seriously, confusion clouding my mind.
How did Zion know the details about that night, especially the missing piece?
