Crimson Moon Redemption: My Alpha's Brutal Mistake -
Chapter 40: Drained his blood (Alpha Zion)
Chapter 40: Drained his blood (Alpha Zion)
Zach had been using something to combat his allergies, but I realized it had faded sooner than he had expected. If that hadn’t happened, he probably would have succeeded in his plan.
It pained me that I couldn’t protect Bella as I had planned but Zach’s sudden appearance left my mind in a whirl. I only vaguely remembered to mindlink some she-wolves to come help because even the werewolves wouldn’t be able to defeat him.
When his allergy flared up, I quickly rushed Bella to the healer’s hut. On the way, I mindlinked some maids to clean the small house and replace the broken items.
Bella clung to me tightly, and I could tell she was in a lot of pain from the way she cursed Zach, but I couldn’t muster any pity for him anymore.
He was too stubborn, and I knew that telling him Bella had red hair wouldn’t work since I hadn’t seen it myself.
At least I had tried, and he had chosen the path of anger, which was slowly consuming him. "Take care of her and ensure nothing happens to her pup," I instructed Dina as I gently placed Bella on the bed.
She was pale in a way that frightened me. As I waited for Dina to undress and apply herbs, I instructed the warriors to close all secret exits to the pack and increase the fence to make it impossible for access.
This would keep everyone busy for the next few months. Zach now knew about Bella, and it was only a matter of time before he returned. I had to make it impossible for him.
"Alpha, she’s lost a lot of blood," Dina informed me.
"Can I give her mine?" I asked, then remembered the mark. "Zach marked her to trace her, and we can use that to our advantage. "Can you drain his blood through it?"
"You mean..." Dina trailed off, seeking confirmation. I nodded, confirming her question. It was a deadly method, but this was the price he had to pay for what he had done.
Bella and her pup must survive, and one day, we will find the real father. "In that case, the pup may resemble him, and this method will require rare herbs and powers I haven’t used in a while," Dina informed me but I was determined to make Zach pay.
"If it ensures Bella’s well-being, go ahead," I approved.
How ironic for a pup unrelated to him to bear his likeness? Though lacking a bond, the pup’s presence will surely torment him.
Zach has lost his sanity, and I must restore it or hold him accountable. If not for our shared connection, I would have advised her to drain him until he perished, freeing Bella completely.
Dina returned after hours with special herbs, including mandrakes. After performing rituals, she applied them to Bella’s mark, causing the protective wolf’s symbol to vanish entirely.
She administered a potion, making Bella swallow it, then applied another to her belly. I averted my gaze to avoid seeing her nakedness, but I couldn’t help but look back when I heard Dina’s voice.
"It’s working," Dina exclaimed as I saw the color returning to Bella’s face, and she soon opened her eyes.
"How is my pup?" Bella suddenly asked, and I quickly sat beside her on the bed to reassure her. "It’s okay, both you and the pup are fine. But tell me, how are you feeling?"
She looked at me strangely before embracing me tightly. "Alpha Zion, it’s you. Thank the goddess."
"Yes, it’s me. But what were you thinking?" I asked teasingly, and she weakly smiled. "I thought he had returned."
Soon, Zach would find out what I had done and might try to retaliate. "It’s okay, you are moving to the pack house."
She was about to say something when I interrupted her. "This is not up for discussion. The pack house is your new home from now on."
"I wanted to leave, to join another tribe," she mentioned. I thought it was a good idea, except there wasn’t anyone I could trust.
"Who will keep you safe? None of them will defy Zach’s orders, but I promise I will take good care of you, and Zach will never show his face again."
She didn’t seem to believe it, and I knew why, but I was sure of it. "There you are..." Apphia interrupted our conversation. She carried a flask and hastened towards us.
"I’m so sorry for not being there to protect you. I’m only just hearing the rumors from the maids cleaning your house when I decided to stop by on my way to training and bring you some food."
Bella smiled, but it was a sad one. "It’s good you weren’t there. He would have hurt you for trying to protect me," Bella said. The two of them chatted, and I took advantage to reach out to Zach.
’How are you feeling, dear big brother?’ He came first and so is deserving of my respect, but right now, I was being sarcastic.
’It’s you, isn’t it? How could you do this?’ I could feel his anger sifting through the mindlink, and that made me happy.
’Yes, you almost caused her to miscarry,’ I replied, sensing his annoyance. ’You mean she’s still pregnant?’
Despite my anger, I felt a sense of calm knowing that Bella and her pup were safe. ’Yes, and you will not harm either of them again.’
’I will, Zion, I promise. You drained my blood for a witch? Are you out of your mind?’
His anger was palpable through the mindlink, but I took satisfaction in his defeat. ’She’s not a witch, and it’s your fault for marking and attempting to kill her, so deal with it.’
’Zion, prepare for war,’ he declared, indicating that he might have to take a double dose of his so-called allergy medication to prevent it from wearing off like last night.
’Zach, remember that if I even hear or see you trying to harm Bella again, I will end my own life, and you know what that entails. I’m fed up with your bull shit, big brother. Get a grip on your life.’
