Chapter 39: My lovely wife

"Great!"

Dr. Seo turned to face them, a thoughtful expression on his face. "There is a way to balance your pheromones once and for all. If we can ensure you receive consistent exposure to your alpha pheromones, the deficiency should correct itself, and after this, you won’t have to worry about it anymore because it will be gone."

Yeongsoo’s heart raced at the implication. "So, if Haeun stays close to me and absorbs my pheromones regularly, it will help?"

"Exactly" Dr. Seo confirmed. "It’s crucial that you two maintain a close bond. I recommend daily routines that foster this connection, including shared activities and emotional support. This will help stabilize his condition and benefit the baby as well."

Haeun took a deep breath, relief flooding through him. "So, if I do that, I won’t feel this way anymore?"

"Correct!" Dr. Seo said with a nod. "But it’s essential to be diligent. Avoid other alphas during this time, and prioritize your health. Stress will only complicate things."

"I understand," Haeun said, his determination returning. "I’ll do whatever it takes."

Yeongsoo squeezed Haeun’s hand, his expression fierce with resolve. "We’ll make this work. I promise to be by your side through everything."

After the ultrasound, Dr. Seo had assured them that Haeun’s condition was manageable with the right care and attention. As they prepared for Haeun’s discharge, the nurse entered the room with a warm smile.

"Okay, Mr. Yoon, you’re all set to go home," she said, handing Haeun a stack of discharge papers. "Just remember to follow the doctor’s recommendations closely, and make sure to take it easy for the next few days."

Haeun nodded, grateful for the nurse’s kindness. "Thank you for everything."

Yeongsoo took the papers from Haeun and quickly scanned through the instructions. "We’ll follow these to the letter," he assured the nurse before turning to Haeun. "Ready to head home?"

Haeun took a deep breath and nodded. "Yeah, let’s go."

Once they left the hospital, Yeongsoo helped Haeun into the passenger seat of his car before sliding into the driver’s seat himself.

The drive home was filled with a comfortable silence, each lost in their thoughts. Yeongsoo’s grip on the steering wheel was tight, his mind replaying the day’s events and their implications for Haeun’s health and their baby.

As they pulled into the driveway, Yeongsoo glanced over at Haeun, who looked slightly pale but there was a happy smile on his face. "You feeling okay?" he asked, concern lacing his tone.

"I’m okay! We got to see our baby for the first time," Haeun replied, managing a small smile. "Just a little tired and very hungry."

They walked inside together, and Yeongsoo made sure to help Haeun settle onto the couch, bringing him a glass of water. "You should rest" he urged gently, sitting beside him.

Haeun took a sip of water and sighed. "I know I need to, but forget about resting I wanna eat rice porridge, beef short rib soup, dumplings, stir fried glass noddles, some apples would be nice as well."

Yeongsoo chuckled, he was glad his appetite was back and hope his morning sickness won’t act up, thinking about this made his brow furrowing in concern. "Alright, let’s see what ingredients we have at home. Tomorrow I’ll have go on a full grocery shopping so we don’t have to head to the convenience store often."

Yeongsoo walked to the kitchen, noting the things they had and didn’t have. After 5 minutes of checking he finally turned to face Haeun.

"I’ll have to head to the store, to get the rest ingredients.."

"...!!"

"No you can’t go and you can’t leave me here all alone. Send the guards outside or somebody else.."

".."

Yeongsoo sighed nodded, there was no use in a agitating a pregnant Haeun.

"As you wish boss..." Yeongsoo grabbed a notepad from under the counter and began scribbling some of the ingredients they needed into it.

"Look at you being a dutiful wife," Haeun said, leaning back against the couch, fatigue evident on his face. "I just wish I didn’t have to deal with all of this."

"We’ll deal with it together," Yeongsoo assured him, reaching for Haeun’s hand and squeezing it gently. "You’re not alone in this, my lovely wife."

"..."

Haeun looked up at Yeongsoo, warmth spreading through him at the unwavering support in his partner’s eyes. "Tch! I’m obviously the husband here."

"Oh but I’m not one carrying the baby am I? And I remember seeing the test results and your name was written under mother..^^"

"..."

"Get away from my face, didn’t I asked for food...where is it?"

Haeun crossed his arms as he tried to hide the blush creeping up on his face.

"On its way wifey.."

Yeongsoo kissed the his as he headed to door, leaning against the frame. He beaconed at the guard nearest to him.

"My wifey wants you to get him the ingredients on this list. Hurry up, he’s very cranky when he’s hungry so best be on your way..." as the guard reached to collect the list, Yeongsoo withdraw his hand and use his left hand to grab his wallet and bring out his card.

"What? You wanna get it for me for free?"

"..."

"If the madam wants it, we will definitely get what ever he wants.." the guard lips twitched, it as obvious the boss knew they weren’t as rich as he was.

"Oh and boss, Sean is back in the country and request you have a drink with him.."

"..."

Yeongsoo lips twitched, he had forgotten about that subordinate of his, scratching his chin "So he did manage to survive that mission, I suppose I owe that pretty boy a drink.."

"Yes boss, he did risk his life for six months.."

"..."

"Thank you, Zhen I’ll definitely keep your good memory in mind.."

"...!!!" "Boss that’s not what I meant.." Zhen lips twitched as his partner laughed his heart out.

"Best be on your way, don’t keep my wife waiting for too long. If he’s cranky then I’m angry.."
