Chapter 110: Chapter 109: Drake’s Commercial!

The students watched the video Phillip projected.

At that instant, Drake was running around, jumping, flipping and performing all kinds of stunts. But as he did all this, his hands were moving non-stop.

He kept Drawing arrows, and firing in quick succession. And each shot was a different skill.

There were straight shots, curving arrow shots, drilling arrow shots you name it. The arrows had all come from different angles forming a circular arc. And the scariest part was that each of these shots had been fired at different postures and positions and at different speeds. Such that when they hit the target, it wasn’t one after the other, but all at once.

And if you zoomed in and enhanced the image, you would see that all the arrows had hit one specific point at the same time. The Bulls-eye at the center of the target!

Drake had a wide grin plastered on his face as he turned to return the practice bow, then he left the training grounds.

The students quickly cleared a path for him to pass, and for a long time after he had gone. Silence reigned over the Training grounds.

A few seconds later, an uproar started as the students discussed the spectacle they had just witnessed.

Hey can you share a copy of that video to me? Huh where’d he go? The student that had just recovered from the thrill of that shocking display, turned to back to the student that had recorded the fight. But he was already gone.

Outside the training grounds, a student could be seen running like his life depended on it. He was the one who had just recorded Drake’s archery performance.

This guy was Phillip, a close friend of Jeremy. Ever since Drake had shown up in the gathering weeks ago, Jeremy had bothered all his little group of friends and lackeys about how great Drake was. Raining all sorts of incessant praises on the guy.

At that time he and all the others were so annoyed, but they were helpless since Jeremy was their leader and they looked up to him.

Jeremy had given all of them a mission that day, that if they ever came upon a situation where Drake was competing with anybody on anything. They were to do their best to record it, no matter how boring it looked.

Phillip and the others thought it was a bit too much, but they had accepted the mission. After all, Jeremy was their leader and they were his teammates.

They trusted their leaders vision wholeheartedly.

Today Phillip had been doing a small documentary on students of Alpha academy and their training habits, and to be honest; it was extremely boring. Nothing exciting was going on.

No competitions, no brawls, no records being broken, hell there weren’t even that many people in the training grounds. It was all too underwhelming. Then he had heard a small commotion which drew his attention, and he came over only to see the current biggest target on his bosss radar, Drake Black.

Drake was training here, and it was in Archery.

Phillip immediately fired up his camera and started shooting. However, after shooting for only a short time, he was very disappointed as it was nothing interesting. If anything, it should be called the meme for most missed shots by mages. That is because in the beginning Drake’s performance was absolute trash; his shots were so off target, that it was as if he wasn’t even trying to hit the target.

If Phillip was to describe it in words, then it would best if he said ’It was a complete motherfucking disaster!!’

Phillip felt abject dejection, and disdain for Drake grew in his heart the longer he stayed there. He thought ’How can a guys aim be so terrible? Even I can do better than this shit!’ he almost couldn’t watch anymore. But he remembered Jeremy’s words.

Jeremy had told his entire team one thing The patient dog eats the fattest bone, and as long as you wait patiently long enough, all the best things will come to you. Philip decided he might as well just wait patiently, and see how it turns out. Besides, it’s not like there was anything juicier than this comedy going on around.

However, as time went on. Drake’s aim got better and better, in fact the speed at which it was getting better could be considered astounding. Considering that he had been shooting like a three year old just a while ago. Then Drake stopped, and sat down to rest.

It had been nearly three hours. Phillip had decided that it was time to go. There was nothing worth looking at here. However just as he was about leaving, Drake got up and performed that perfect shot.

This caused Phillip to raise an eyebrow. That shot was perfect, right in the Bulls-eye.

Phillip finally understood something. It wasn’t that Drake was a terrible shot; it’s just that he had been missing on purpose. Phillip never turned off his camera. He believed that the extra second it would take to turn on the camera again, was enough time to miss something big. As a cameraman in the entertainment industry, aiming for the best scoops was his greatest mission. And to do that, he must be active at all times.

Thanks to this principle, he had caught that shot by Drake on camera. And while he felt a bit aggrieved that Drake had wasted his time with all that trash he had been doing for the past three hours, he got some consolation from this one good shot.

It was best to leave now, a good man knows to be content and call it quits.

Phillip was about turning away, when he suddenly saw Drake move again. He did not see it clearly since it was too fast for his eyes, but the next second.

BANG!

The target a thousand meters away from Drake exploded.

Phillip was dumbfounded. He hastily checked the last few moments that his camera had just taken.

He watched Drake move only ever so slightly, but then the target exploded. He frowned and rewound the video, then activated the slow motion. Slower, slower, slower, slower...

Phillip was finally able to see what had happened clearly.

He watched how Drake fired over a dozen arrows in that split second through the target, and in all those postures at all those angles.

Phillip started quivering in his boots and he immediately dashed out of the training grounds, as soon as he noticed that Drake was leaving. But he wasn’t headed for Drake.

’This is it!’ Phillip thought.

Phillip shared the whole thing he had recorded back to Jeremy; describing the special parts he was to pay attention to.

Jeremy was in his room as it was already night time. However, he suddenly received the call from Phillip, and saw the video Phillip had just gotten.

Jeremy immediately woke every member of his team to get to work on this video. Thanks to the fact that there were a few Telepaths on his team that specialized in tech manipulation, it only took about 15 minutes before the whole video was edited and posted on Jeremy’s page.

...

Drake woke up the next morning and did his morning workouts. But the moment he returned to his room; the Wolff Brothers along with the twins and the girls immediately jumped at him giving him a fright.

Boss, you didn’t tell us you were a movie star. Wednesday said with glowing eyes.

You surprised me more and more with your endless talents. Cassandra praised.

Sylvia asked, Since when have you been auditioning in an ad?

Movie star? An ad? Drake was confused. What are you guys talking about? He had no idea what this was all about.

Check it out; you already have over a million views. Peter raised a HOLO-PAD in front of Drake. It was only then, that Drake saw the video.

Do I really look that good?

Drake was shocked by what he saw though. The video was no longer than three minutes, but what it showed shocked Drake that the person in it was himself.

The video first showed the training grounds of Alpha academy, there were students doing some dull training. Then Drake was displayed training with the bow in archery.

Many students stood around Drake, jeering and laughing at him. There was some motivational music in the background, and then Drake was shown meditating. While this was shown, around him faint images of teachers of the academy giving lectures and all kinds of lessons were displayed, then Drake’s eyes opened.

Drake stood up from his place, and then the music got stronger. Drake raised his bow and fired an arrow that hit the Bulls-eye. Then Drake began moving again, the camera showed him firing all kinds of shots from different angles, but it did not show the arrows actually hitting the target, until Drake fired the last arrow.

In slow motion, it was shown how all the arrows arranged themselves in a circular pattern, then all the arrows pierced through the center of the target at the same time. Drake was shown still in the position of loosing his arrow with his right palm still open. Then Drake was shown walking away.

The video ended with a few inspirational words,

’Alpha academy! Always train hard and be the best.’

Drake was stunned speechless. He couldn’t help but blush, when he saw how awesome he looked in the video.

Even when Drake went to class, many students would point at him and whisper. A few girls would even giggle from time to time.
