Chapter 215: PANDORA BOX FINALLY OPENED

Chapter 215: Chapter 215: PANDORA BOX FINALLY OPENED

The next day, Briar rummaged through the closet that she hadn’t bothered to pick anything from much and picked a fancy red dress from the rack.

She paired the dress with red heels and ruby jewelry.

She was going for blood and wearing red felt very suitable and appropriate.

When Logan saw her, his lips twitched as he sort of understood what Briar was doing, but didn’t dare ask her.

The couple left the mansion after having their breakfast and on the way, Logan avoided any topic related to Raine or the wedding, which had been put on hold ever since Briar was hospitalized.

Several hours later, they finally arrived at the hospital. When they got there, someone was waiting for them.

However, since Briar wished to see Raine alone, Logan didn’t want to disappoint Briar, so he let that happen.

He waited for her, however, somewhere close as he received the report on how Raine had been doing at the hospital.

While he was getting that report, Briar was facing Raine who was bound, in case she went crazy and attacked Briar.

When Raine saw Braine wearing red, which reminded her of the night when she saw the other, she gritted her teeth and looked at Briar hatefully.

It was already painful to hear that Briar woke up and that her bond with Logan was becoming stronger each day. To see her in person dressed extravagantly like that, Raine, who had lost so much in these past few months, wanted to rip Briar apart.

"Are you here to mock me? Are you happy now seeing what you have done to my family?" Raine directly accused Briar, hatred brewing in her eyes.

In these three months, her mother couldn’t accept her outcome and committed suicide. Her father, upon hearing that, suffered a stroke and now was a waste.

As for her brothers, she wasn’t sure who they offended, but one got stabbed so badly and was now unconscious in the hospital and the other went insane.

The whole family was literally doomed. And to think that the person who caused all that was standing unharmed and looking vibrant in front of her, how could Raine remain sane in a situation like that?

Briar looked at Raine and smiled slyly, a familiar smile that always drive Raine crazy. Surely upon seeing that, Raine puffed angrily and the way she looked was so funny that Briar burst into a peal of laughter.

"Haha, Raine, you, ..... aren’t you funny?" Briar laughed without any qualm, tears streaming down her cheeks and the more Raine saw, the angrier she got, she hurled insults and cusses at Briar who brushed them off.

"You can spend the rest of your life cursing me, but before you do so, how about I share a secret with you?" Briar’s voice rang in Raine’s ear like a devil’s whisper and she suddenly had a bad feeling.

"You ..." Raine felt like she didn’t want or have to hear this secret at all. Her inkling was telling her that once she did, something bad would happen to her, but was Briar willing to listen? She wasn’t, as she outrightly started spilling the secret to Raine without waiting for her response.

"Let me tell you a short story about an unfortunate young girl who was born and raised in a small village with a crazy culture.

This young girl was raised in a patriarchal society and her only value was providing means for her parents and brothers to be bigger people in society.

This young girl had dreams. Like big dreams, one of them was to leave the village, find a nice man to marry and have a wonderful family, which she could feel was her own.

Unfortunately, she was born from the wrong womb. When she was of age, she was forced to work hard to raise the dowry for her brother. While working hard not just for her brother but for herself since working would stop her parents from selling her, she attracted rotten things.

From a neighboring village, there was a vagabond who feared no man or deity. That bastard took a liking to that young girl and used the advantage that he was an outlaw and no one would know. He ....." Briar gritted her teeth hatefully as she reached that point. Her fists were clenched, and her eyes blazing red.

She was emotional, but the person listening was on the verge of going crazy.

The story sounded pretty too familiar. It was one of the stories which brought her down and, listening to how angry Briar was when talking about the story, she had a bad feeling. However, she didn’t find time to interject as Briar continued narrating the story.

"Huh, that bastard took advantage that he was a man, stronger and that if the girl exposed him, she would be the one suffering. One day when she was on her way home, he caught her, and pulled her into the forest ..." Briar closed her eyes as she recalled how horrified the young girl was, or in this case, how scared she was back then.

That bastard pulled her into the forest and no matter how much she screamed, he didn’t seem to care. There was no one to protect her from him, and he got his way with her. She was only thirteen years old. Her body wasn’t even fully formed and yet that bastard vandalized her, took her chastity and made her feel dirty.

Briar wanted to die so badly when that happened, but when she thought about it, she had so much to live for. She gritted her teeth and persevered, and that was the most foolish thing she did in her life.

That bastard found her every single day and continued to have his way with her until she got pregnant. Yes, she got pregnant and was scared for her life.

The fact that she slept with a man before marriage was already a sin that would make her be scorned by everyone or forced to follow that man. Now that she was pregnant, she could already imagine how wild her mother would become once she learned of it.
