The noisy bantering of the sisters filled the garden as Lyra and Tiana chased each other playfully.

Those who were watching couldn’t help but smile lovingly, enjoying the moment.

The mansion had been filled with tension for a while and now it was finally getting to where it was before the incident.

The butler had a relieved smile on his face, watching the kids playing and above all, on the other side of the garden, the couple was having a walk, holding hands as they went.

Who would have thought that one day he would get to see such a loving scene?

If it wasn’t for that incident, would that be possible?

He hurriedly shook the cursed thoughts out of his mind, thinking about how they ended up reaching this very day.

He turned his focus to admiring the couple once again, and a smile tugged on his lips.

Briar had changed a lot in these few months, but it was expected. After all, it would be unbelievable if it didn’t happen.

Logan held Briar’s soft hand with white markings all over it. After seeing them for months, he had gotten used to them and wasn’t bothered at all.

After the ritual was performed which opened a lot of people’s eyes for seven days straight, Briar’s soul, which was straying away from her body, finally returned to the body.

When it did, Logan couldn’t help but remember how her eyelashes trembled like a butterfly flapping its wings. At that time, there was complete silence, and all eyes were focused on the sleeping beauty.

When those eyes finally snapped open, Logan could still remember how his mother fell to the ground and cried tears of joy. She wasn’t alone as his children cried and caused quite a fit.

With her awakened, Mammy Adonai promised them everything would be fine from now on, so there wouldn’t be any need to worry.

Briar was taken back to the hospital where she went through an extensive examination and she was found to be doing well. Although her body still needed to recover, she was out of danger. With that news known to all, the family was finally at ease.

Mammy Adonai was rewarded generously, though she profusely rejected mentioning that Briar was her daughter, but how could they let her go without doing anything?

Briar started recuperating at home and taking herbal medicine which Mammy Adonai brought with her.

Briar got better pretty faster than expected and now she could walk around for a long time without frowning and groaning in pain.

Thinking back to those tortuous days, Logan couldn’t help but clutch onto Briar’s hand tightly, making the other look at him with a smile on her face.

"What kind of bad thoughts are you having now?" Briar’s soft voice sounded with a tinge of teasing in it.

Logan chuckled faintly when he was caught by her. He couldn’t hide it from her, so he truthfully answered, "Do you regret it? Being forced onto this path!" gesturing at how she was dressed.

Because Briar became a spiritualist to wake up and return to the living, her way of dressing changed as well.

For example, right now, she wears a white dress and has all these strange markings drawn all over her skin. On top of the marital jewelry pieces, he knew she had a few others added to her as well.

When she was at home, Briar wore sandals. All those fancy clothes that were in the closet were soon to be redundant as she no longer wore them anymore.

At least, at night, she still wore his favorite nightwear, which soothed his heart.

Briar chuckled lightly as she came to a halt when Logan asked that question and forced Logan to look at her before responding, "I will never regret it! If I were in your position, I would have picked the same choice. As long as you are alive and by my side, what does this matter? So, hubby, don’t stress too much and overthink," patting his hand and with the other hand waved nonchalantly, adding, "Besides, now that I am like this, no one can bully me anymore. So, what’s there to worry about?" her eyes squinting into crescents.

When Logan heard that, a smile hung on his lips, feeling relieved. Although there were some drawbacks, the benefits outweighed them, which was better.

Before this all happened, Briar was more cowardly, and it made everyone worry, but now with the power in her hands, they no longer had to worry about such things occurring ever again.

So, like she said, it was indeed a good thing somehow.

Thinking like that, Logan pulled her into his arms, their bodies aligning and chuckled against her ear, saying, "Hehe, then I will leave our fates in your hands, darling. I just hope that you will be safe from now on with no harm befalling you!"

Briar’s eyes shone as she listened to that. A glint of guilt flashed through them before vanishing. She tightened her hold on him and responded once he was done, "I swear to you that no harm shall fall on me or anyone else in our family. I will prevent anything like that from happening. So don’t be stressed about me or anything else. Let us live happily, peacefully and whatever sad things happened previously. Let us forgive and forget!"

Logan’s hold on Briar tightened when he heard her talking about the sad things. Thinking about the child that they lost and how she was in a daze after learning of that matter, Logan vowed to make the future better than the past. There was no need to bring the past anymore. But as for forgetting, he would never forgive and forget Raine, who caused this pain to his family.

But he wouldn’t bother to let Briar know, lest she continue to hurt.

"But before we forgive and forget, can I see Raine just this once by myself? I want to get some closure and put the past behind us?" Briar asked as she raised her head to look at Logan imploringly.

How could Logan say no to that?

Besides, Briar deserved to see Raine at least once and get the closure she needed.

So, he opened his mouth and readily agreed, "Sure. How about we visit her tomorrow? The sooner we get this done, the better!"

And Briar was happy to oblige.
