Chapter 213: Chapter 213: MAMMY ADONAI VISITS

Three days later, Logan looked at Briar, who was sleeping in the middle of the gazebo without the machines connected to her. That was quite dangerous, considering the fact that those machines were the ones keeping her alive.

However, when he looked at the woman dressed strangely with marks drawn all over her body, he could only keep his mouth shut.

That day when he was in the hospital and received a call from an unknown number, it was Mammy Adonai whose name wasn’t a stranger, who had called.

Mammy Adonai was the spiritualist who had taken care of Briar when she was still in the village. She was also the one who always gave Briar herbs the whole family always ate. In other words, his whole family was thriving in health because of Mammy Adonai.

When he received her call and recalled how she was a spiritualist, hope finally descended on him.

Spiritualists were capable. If Briar couldn’t be awakened by medical means, then perhaps seeking the help of the ancestors might help. As long as that brings her to life, Logan is willing to do anything.

That was why two days ago when Mammy Adonai finally came to visit, sat down with him as well as his family and stated several conditions that they needed to agree to if they wanted Briar to awaken, even though it pained his heart, he agreed readily.

And now, they were in the middle of doing a ritual to bring back Briar’s soul, which was aimless wandering in the spirit realm. That was the reason why Briar hadn’t woken up.

With her lying there, candles burning brightly on the side without getting blown out despite the great wind, which was already a miracle or a mystic thing, Logan was nervous.

He wasn’t the only one present as his children, parents, as well as two sisters were present watching that ritual.

Since they were part of the family that Briar loved a lot, they had to be present during the summoning. They needed to make her feel that she was loved. As long as she felt it, she would come to them. If they delay summoning her back, she would be lost forever and die for real. That was the one thing that the whole Meyer family didn’t plan on seeing or experiencing right now.

So, despite what everyone was doing, they all cleared their schedule and gathered for that ritual.

Mammy Adonai sprinkled water all over Briar, who was sleeping peacefully while chanting an incarnation which only she could understand.

Once she was done with that, she exhaled deeply, cussing her spiritual daughter for causing such a huge drama. If she wasn’t checking on her constantly and holding onto that life of hers, who knows if she would be mourned right now?

However, when she thought of that plan, Mammy Adonai could only proceed with the ritual.

She looked at the Meyer family members and for a moment felt like cursing them. If they didn’t exist, perhaps her child wouldn’t have gotten crazier than she was before. If only she had helped her as much as she could back then, perhaps ..... anyway, it was too late to think of what ifs. She could only deal with the present and hope for a positive outcome.

"I talked to you previously about what you, as your family, need to accept, embrace and look forward to if you want to use this method to bring back her soul. You haven’t forgotten about it, right?" Mammy Adonai asked softly, her eyes squinting as she looked at the family members.

"Mammy, we haven’t forgotten! Please, go ahead and do whatever you must. You must bring back Briar to us!" Logan answered resolutely, without wavering.

When Mammy Adonai heard that, she smiled at him before she repeated the conditions for everyone to commit to memory lest they forget.

"Briar had always had a talent to become a spiritualist, however, to walk on this path, she had to forgo her dream of having a family, she had always rejected it.

So, if I perform this ritual and ask the ancestors to guide her spirit back to her body, a deal must be made. She must accept her calling. However, since she is already married and has children, she won’t need to follow the old rules. She would continue having her family, but she can’t put aside her calling.

So, from now on, Briar would be forced to treat and serve troubled souls. You must not stop her. If you do so, it might backfire and trust me, it’s not something good.

However, just because she becomes a spiritualist doesn’t mean that she is a bad person. You have all been with her for over a decade and know her well.

Briar is someone who would heal and help those who are in need. We don’t bring any harm to anyone like how other people always perceive us. So please, treat her normally like you always did previously. That would be very helpful to her."

After repeating that, Mammy Adonai felt much better.

To help her goddaughter to be accepted for her calling, they could only do that. That was another reason which the CIRCLE friends didn’t understand as of yet, why Briar took it a bit further than planned.

In order to practice her profession in the open without hiding or being prejudiced, letting the whole family think that it was their decision which made Briar do the job was the only way in Briar’s mind to make it happen.

Anyway, in her mind, as long as that family remained guilty towards her forever, she wouldn’t mind about anything.

Whether it was love, guilt, or anything else. As long as they keep her in their hearts, Briar would be satisfied. Besides, it might start as something else now, but who knows what will happen in a year or two?

After Brar explained it to her like that, how could Mammy Adonai turn her down? As long as she could practice her profession, any means were fine.

It wasn’t like she would let Briar die that easily. Her time wasn’t anywhere near yet. There was still more to Briar that everyone was waiting to see.

With all that laid out, Mammy Adonai started officially the ritual that the Meyer family who had never stepped their feet at any spiritualist door would never forget for the rest of their lives.

It could be said that their eyes were opened, they got enlightened and above all, appreciated the ancestral way of dealing with matters.
