Briar chuckled faintly, upon sensing the hot gaze her mother-in-law had on her, but pretended like she wasn’t seeing it.

The two finally reached the restaurant which Madam Meyer had chosen and were taken to a private room where several dishes were served.

While eating the meal, Briar raised a topic from nowhere but managed to pique her mother-in-law’s interest.

"Mother, umm .... Me and Logan have decided to have a child!" she revealed the matter with a shy expression, looking a bit nervous though as she looked at Madam Meyer.

Madam Meyer, who had pushed the matter of children to the side earlier, dropped her fork with shock in her eyes which nearly frightened Briar, who outwardly looked as if she had spoken something that had offended her mother-in-law.

When Madam Meyer saw Briar’s reaction and those eyes turning red at her reaction, she smiled wryly, thinking to herself, ’It was a good thing I didn’t raise the matter myself! How can she be so fragile at heart, like that?’ she didn’t look anywhere close to what her daughter described.

Could it be that Alice was mistaken?

However, that at this moment didn’t matter at all, as Madam Meyer was more interested in what Briar had just said.

"Can you repeat that again, dear?" Madam Meyer asked in a coaxing and softened tone, her eyes sparkling as she looked at Briar.

When Briar saw that, she breathed out a sigh of relief and plastered a smile on her face as she shyly responded, "We talked about it last night. He .... We want a child, so um ... we will be trying for one!"

Madam Meyer’s eyes lit up when she heard that. She looked at Briar, her eyes squinted into crescents as she asked, "And do you want one as well?" not forgetting to ask the other’s opinion.

According to what she understands about this love-struck fool of a daughter-in-law, she would surely agree to anything as long as Logan asked. She didn’t want Briar to do things just because Logan wanted it, even if it was the grandchild that she was looking forward to.

Briar shyly looked away and nodded, agreeing with what Madam Meyer said. When Madam Meyer heard that, she burst into a hearty laughter.

That was the greatest news she had heard the whole day. Although there wasn’t any child yet. The thought of having one in the future, her old heart was beating vigorously, already thinking of good names.

The meal continued on a happy note, with Madam Meyer sharing some tips on how to get pregnant easily and what to take note of when trying to get pregnant. Briar was very obedient and listened attentively, which made Madam Meyer like her more.

After the meal, the two decided to go around shopping. Madam Meyer wanted to buy Briar several clothes to wear, although she knew that Briar’s closet was full, but who could say no to more clothes?

While they were shopping, Briar suddenly frowned while clutching her stomach and Madam Meyer caught that.

She rushed to her side and held her shoulders, her face filled with worry as she asked, "Dear, what’s wrong with you?"

Briar plastered a fake smile on her face as she looked at Madam Meyer and answered, "I might be having an upset tummy. Pardon me, mother, I need to visit the restroom for a while!" putting on a strong face.

When Madam Meyer heard that, she looked at Briar briefly before agreeing. "Okay, hurry. You will find me here!" the restroom was just a short distance from where the shop they were buying was. So, it didn’t matter.

Briar thanked Madam Meyer profusely before leaving.

The bodyguards couldn’t follow to the female restroom but lingered very close, in case anything happened.

While they waited there, a woman wearing a brim hat and glasses walked towards the restroom and shortly after, a man wearing dark sunglasses and black walked that way as well. A few more people came from the restroom. It was quite busy, and that was none of their concern.

Meanwhile, inside the restroom, Briar deleted several chats on her phone before stashing her phone in her pocket, a mysterious smile on her face.

She couldn’t help but chuckle faintly as she washed her hands, waiting for the person she received a message to be on her way.

Moments later, Briar, who was facing the mirror, saw the person she had been waiting for a very long entering the restroom and without warning, locked the door, which piqued her interest.

"Hey, lady! Why are you locking the door? Did you mistake this restroom as your private restroom or what?" Briar angrily yelled at the lady; her words were quite provocative.

[Dear, are you really going to do this?] suddenly the familiar voice sounded in her head, and it was filled with worry.

Briar, who had just provoked the lady, smirked inwardly as she responded to the ancestors, ’There is no turning back! Besides, don’t act as if it was going to be saved!’ a bit furious when she thought of the reason why she was even putting herself in danger like that.

Once her provocative words were uttered, the lady who had just locked the restroom door removed the hat from her head, revealing her face, and Briar was caught off guard. She muttered, "You ... what are you doing here?" lips quivering as she shakily pointed at the other.

The lady rolled the hat, a smirk on her face as she lazily walked towards Briar. In fear, Briar staggered backwards, heart beating nonstop, which made the other woman smile sinisterly, knowing that Briar was full of fear right now.

"Tsk, tsk, tsk. I didn’t know that you were this cowardly! Where is that strong woman, I saw that night? Who could frame others without blinking an eye?" the woman snickered as she continued to walk towards Briar.

Briar at this moment couldn’t move anymore as she had somehow hit the wall. She was trapped, and her hands were trembling, and her face pale as she looked at Raine, the woman who had sent herself to her door like a piece of juicy meat.

[Whoever sees you right now, hehe, would think that you are scared!]

Briar rolled her eyes at that remark and shamelessly responded, ’I am scared. Can’t you see my body shaking?’ her words were more sarcastic.
