Chapter 134: Chapter 134: WE ARE ALIKE

Upon hearing that, Briar’s suspicion decreased, and she motioned for Chloe to sit down.

At the same time, she looked around the café and noticed that the other customers were quite interested in what was happening on her side, but she didn’t put them in her eyes at all.

Once Chloe had joined her, she looked at Briar and apologized once again. "I am sorry for that. I was just angry, and I panicked. So ... I just couldn’t help myself! I am very sorry!"

Briar sighed heavily as she wiped her hands while looking at Chloe. Looking at her, she was reminded of someone.

Those eyes were full of love, or should she say obsession, when looking at Dave. It reminded her of herself. The way she looks at Logan when he isn’t looking.

The way Chloe reacted when she thought that Dave was interested in her. Rather than blaming him who has such thoughts, the first thing that people like her would do was to protect and put the blame on someone else.

Even if Logan slept with someone after Selena died, she would blame the woman and not him. If she hadn’t dangled herself in front of him, how could he even know that she existed?

That was probably the same thing that Chloe thought as she looked at her and Dave. And recognizing that, she wasn’t angry at what she did but was embarrassed. She was reduced to like Dave, whom she had never even thought about after leaving the gate, while she had a man who was a million times better than him. How could Chloe insult her tastes like that?

Looking at Chloe, Briar suddenly found her pitiful. It was truly a crime to look at a man like that who didn’t love you.

At least her obsession finally worked, but who knows if Chloe would succeed? There was a reason why they divorced in the first place. And usually, if it failed once, who was certain that it would work again the next time?

Thinking about such matters, her temples were throbbing already.

"You ..... do you love him that much?" instead of responding to the apology, Briar couldn’t help but ask helplessly.

Chloe was frozen stiff, as she didn’t expect that Briar would ask her such a question. However, recalling how Briar looked at Dave with that expression which sent Dave into a depressive state for a while, she knew that Briar had no interest in Dave at all.

Even if she asked this, it wouldn’t be because she wanted to gauge her feelings. Perhaps she could be truthful and get something from it.

After thinking it through, she nodded her head and answered honestly, "I love him badly. I can’t live without him."

"Then why did you divorce him in the first place? You left him with the child. Weren’t you afraid that someone else might steal him?"

She was curious, to be honest.

If it was her, she wouldn’t leave the man she loved like crazy like that, no matter what. She would stick close to him like a leech and never let go. But Chloe did the opposite. Was she that confident that he wouldn’t live without her?

Chloe’s response to that was to look at Briar with teary eyes and that stunned Briar, who didn’t expect to see such a reaction.

"You_"

"Briar, I ....do you mind if we can talk in detail sometime later or even through the phone," Chloe hesitatingly said as she looked around the café.

Briar, upon hearing that, heaved with relief seeing that she won’t be suffering from a green tea b*** attack. The other party just didn’t want to share her story in a public place and whatever she wanted to say was probably very painful and something that couldn’t be said in public.

She also has such kind of stories that couldn’t be publicly shared, so she agreed. She loved hearing people’s stories. Besides, Chloe had some similar traits to her own, so she was curious to see how crazy and insane she was.

As a result, the two exchanged contact details and left the café together once it was time to pick up the children.

Those seeing them for the first time would think and believe that they were good friends.

Their appearance at the school gate surprised even some parents who watched them exchanging blows the other time.

’Aren’t these people foes?’ it was truly confusing, and it made them very curious about what was truly happening between the two.

Unfortunately, they could only guess, as the answers only lie with those two.

When Tiana and Kelly came to the gate, they saw their mothers talking smilingly with each other. Which was truly a spectacle scene to never be forgotten.

They might look like kids, but they weren’t ignorant. Their parents had a brawl the other time, though it didn’t affect their relationship. They just didn’t expect to see them acting all friendly like that.

However, instead of being upset seeing them like that, the two friends who had been close for years were relieved and happily ran to their mothers.

"Mother!"

"Second mother!"

The two cotton-padded jackets happily called out to the two.

Briar, who had not seen Tiana the whole weekend, teared up as she opened her arms for the little girl to run into and Tiana didn’t disappoint.

Chloe watched enviously as the two hugged each other. She hadn’t returned to her daughter’s life for that long, so they were still estranged. The little girl was holding hands with her, but not hugging and giggling like those two.

If she had known, she wouldn’t have been headstrong and hurt herself like that.

Briar, on the other hand, was happy hugging the little girl she raised from day one.

"I missed you so much. Did you miss me too?" Briar asked the little girl as she put her down.

Tiana grinned happily at her and nodded hard, like a chicken pecking on rice.

"I missed you so much."

Briar was happy to hear that. She pinched the little girl’s cheeks making her giggle endlessly.
