Contractually Yours: The Billionaire's Unlikely Bride -
Chapter 133: UPDATES
Chapter 133: Chapter 133: UPDATES
Briar woke up around lunch and her body felt much better than before. The first thing she did after waking up was to take a medicated bath and couldn’t help but sigh helplessly as she looked at the herbs, which were just little.
By the time she replenishes these herbs, her body will be broken. She foresaw that.
Anyway, after the bath, her body felt much better compared to before, which was a huge relief.
She planned on picking up the kids from school since she had missed them greatly. There was no need to send Logan lunch, as it was already too late.
Briar changed into something long to hide the marks and hickeys Logan generously added to her body but still failed to cover everything.
She applied some concealer and looked much better, which brought relief to her.
Once she was done, she picked up her phone and left the bedroom to go downstairs for a meal before leaving for the school.
When she got downstairs, her meal was heated, and she ate with gusto and filled her empty stomach.
Once done, she left the mansion with the limousine. Sitting at the back, she was busy playing on her phone, chatting with her friends who had brought more disturbing or rather good news.
[X: Raine landed today, and she is planning to have a meetup.]
[Um, I know about the meetup. I will be attending as well.]
[X: Oh~ Are you sure that you want to attend?]
[I am curious. Besides, why should I fear an old hag like her?]
[X: Hahaha, that’s true. There is nothing to fear. Whatever comes, we will tackle it. Talking about issues, she received a message earlier. It seemed that she would be meeting with someone later. That person has something that she wants.]
When she read that, a murderous glint flashed in Briar’s eyes.
[Did you confirm what it was?]
[X: Nope. It seems that she had never talked to that person using the channels I know. I will keep checking and see what it could be.]
[Let’s hope that it’s not about me.]
[X: I hope so as well. Anyway, I am still looking for that Moses’ person. As long as we find him, then everything would be settled.]
Briar couldn’t help but sigh when she heard that. Indeed, as long as Moses was dealt with, then everything would disappear. She wouldn’t need to worry about such matters at all.
[Where there is a will, there is always a will.]
[X: I will definitely sort everything out. Anyway, how was your weekend? Did you finally get your man?]
Briar blushed as she read that text and became worse the more she read more teasing texts. It wasn’t just from Irene, but Bertha and George joined in the teasing.
She was only saved when George announced in the group that there was a case and he needed to go. Only then did the other two remember that they had work to do, thus leaving her to breathe for a while.
Once they were gone, Briar hurriedly logged out of the chat and took a deep breath.
At the same time, the limo also arrived at Tiana’s school, but the kids hadn’t knocked off yet. So, she decided to walk around and check the place. After all the teasing, she was craving some donuts.
She alighted from the car and ignored the curious gazes fixated on her. It was normal for people to be curious, and she was already used to that.
Her focus was solely on that café which sold donuts, so the gazes didn’t matter.
However, on her way to the café, she felt a hot gaze fixated on her. She couldn’t help but turn around to check who was looking at her but she didn’t find anyone.
She failed to find anyone suspicious and seeing that if there was indeed someone stalking her or looking at her now, she wouldn’t be able to find that person at all. So, she gave up and resumed her journey.
If that person wanted her, he or she would show up one way or the other. Besides, she didn’t have to worry about a lot of things. Logan always has people following, especially when his kids are involved.
She didn’t know if he had people follow her now, but before he hadn’t had anyone do so and that made it easier for her to meet with Bertha and others. Thankfully, she managed to befriend Bertha in the open before her relationship improved with Logan.
It would have been hard to meet with them if she hadn’t done so.
So, in the future, if those people see her with Bertha and the likes, they won’t be suspicious of anything.
Briar entered the café and ordered the donuts she wanted. Instead of one order, she ordered several pieces for everyone.
She also ordered a drink for herself and sat down to eat.
"Briar!"
as she was eating, someone called her name, and she raised her head to look at who the other person was.
When she saw the other person, her eyes narrowed and didn’t bother to hide her dislike for the other.
"What do you want? Have you been following me?" she asked hostilely as she looked at the woman who once embarrassed her in public and accused her of shameful things she wouldn’t even think of doing, even if she had eight heads.
Briar looked at Chloe, whom she had nearly forgotten about if she hadn’t seen her again now. Now that she was seeing Chloe, Kelly’s mother, and Dave’s ex-wife, she couldn’t help but connect the dots about her earlier stalking.
Was it her who was following her and the person she was looking for before?
Chloe hurriedly shook her head, her gaze innocent and apologetic.
"I don’t mean any harm and I didn’t follow you; I swear!"
Briar looked doubtfully at Chloe, not believing her words at all, and Chloe saw that.
"Do you mind if I sit? I wanted to buy something to eat while I waited for Kelly to come out, but then I saw you. I remember that I owe you an apology from last time, that’s why I came. I don’t have any motives, I swear!"
