Contractually Yours: The Billionaire's Unlikely Bride -
Chapter 121: A DATE WITH LOGAN
Chapter 121: Chapter 121: A DATE WITH LOGAN
After the movie, Briar left the cinema with the kids with a smile on her face as she listened to Tiana talking about what had happened with exaggerated actions.
Knowing that she had been paying attention made her happy.
"Let’s get some ice cream, second mother," Lyra suggested as she looked at the snack shop selling some.
Briar agreed to that, and the four of them dropped by the shop for a treat.
Some got cones and she bought a cup. She couldn’t be seen licking ice cream in public. Where would her face go?
"Where are we going now?" Tiana asked curiously, as she looked at Briar.
Briar, who was in the middle of thinking about something, looked at Tiana with a wry smile, making the little girl’s bells ring loudly.
Noticing the girl’s reaction, Briar’s lips curled upwards as she responded to her, "We are going home!" dashing the little girl’s hope of going elsewhere.
She scrunched up her face as she looked at Diamond with a wronged expression and asked, "There is still time. Can’t we go somewhere else?"
Briar shook her head as she looked at the girl, whose face looked droopy, and answered, "Let’s do that next week."
Upon hearing that, Cade and Lyra looked at Briar with interest, wondering why she was rejecting Tiana. It was their day, so even if they went home late, it wouldn’t matter and yet she was declining.
"Second Mother, do you perhaps have another appointment?" Lyra, unwilling to die of curiosity, went ahead and asked.
When that question reached Briar’s ears, she looked at the other shyly. Upon seeing that, both Lyra and Cade understood what was happening.
Their father would be taking their stepmother somewhere. Although their stepmother loved them so much, her love for their father was something else.
However, they didn’t feel bothered as they both felt that it would be a good thing. After all the drama which happened in their family, having these two have a real connection was something that even their grandma wanted to see. And yet, they haven’t been close lately, which was worrying.
As long as the two become real, they wouldn’t have to worry about a lot of things going wrong. They might be kids, but they knew a lot.
So, the two of them looked at Briar with teasing eyes, making Briar wish that she hadn’t said a single thing. Without them mentioning a word, she could tell that they knew what was happening. And it made her feel shy.
Tiana, seeing everyone silent and not continuing, wondered what was going on. When she tried to urge Briar to speak, she was cut by Lyra, who suggested, "Second mother needs to do something at home. How about us three check the mall out and visit the arcade? When we are tired, we can go home!" suggesting that to her siblings.
When Tiana heard the arcade, she instantly agreed. She wasn’t allowed to play games usually, so having a legitimate reason to do so, she didn’t care about what her second mother wanted to do.
When Briar saw that, she looked at Lyra gratefully, very thankful that she wouldn’t need to lie to the kid with her own mouth. After all, she was known to be not a liar. So how could she hurt a child?
With Lyra’s suggestion, it meant that she could go home alone and the kids would be picked up by the driver later, which wasn’t bad.
Honestly, she hadn’t told the kids about that matter until now because she didn’t know how to share such news.
Logan was still their father and the husband of their deceased mother. Although they accepted her, she wasn’t sure whether they had fully accepted her as their mother.
If they saw her going with their father for a date and the whole weekend, who knows what they would think?
So, having them away when she left with Logan, she was grateful.
Before leaving, she hugged the three children and left a long list of what they should and shouldn’t do.
Watching her leaving, the three exasperatedly felt helpless.
"Why is she still naggy even after marriage?" Lyra complained with a smile on her face.
Cade’s lips curled upwards as he watched the woman who came to their house as a girl, but now became their second mother.
"It would be not her if she doesn’t nag!" he responded smilingly.
Rather than feeling upset or reluctant to listen to her nagging, he was happy. It showed that she cared and still caring.
If she stopped caring now that she was married to their father, wouldn’t that pang their hearts?
Lyra smiled as she looked at Cade when he said that.
"Indeed, it wouldn’t be her. Let’s go to the arcade and have some fun. We have no one to monitor us for the next few hours!" Lyra urged her siblings cheerfully, in her mind planning to call her friends to play.
And that’s exactly what she did.
Meanwhile, Briar was anxious about the kids. She planned to return with them home but with Lyra’s suggestion; she ended up leaving them there. However, with them by themselves, she couldn’t help but worry as well.
Would they be all right on their own?
Would Tiana make things difficult for the eldest?
Did they have enough money to play around?
Would they play overboard?
The worry was too much for her to bear. She stopped her hand so many times from calling Lyra and checking them out.
Thankfully, when the limo reached the mansion, she saw Logan and all that anxiety vanished.
Logan had already heard the report that the kids remained behind, which was good. He had never gone on a date before, and to do so while his children watched, he felt awkward.
However, with them not around, he was at ease. Besides, he didn’t need to worry about their safety. There were a lot of bodyguards keeping an eye on them always. So, his heart was at ease.
When he saw Briar alighting from the car, a smile blossomed on his face.
’My wife is very cute!’
he praised boastfully as he stretched his hand towards her.Briar shyly walked towards Logan and placed her hand in his before he wrapped his large hand over hers.
"Good evening, hubby!" she greeted shyly as she looked at him.
Logan pulled her closer to him, and she was plastered against his body. His masculine body, which she always craved day and night, was against hers. How could she not be happy?
Logan’s lips curled into a smirk as he watched his shy and bold wife burrowing her face into his chest, making him look at that head full of short hair.
"Good evening! Did you enjoy your day?" he asked as he caressed her back.
Briar hummed a response without raising her head, and he chuckled heartily at that.
The butler and the other servants watching the display smiled. Of course, some gritted their teeth. After all, this was someone who was a servant like them a few months ago and yet today her status was higher. How could that make them happy?
Anyway, the couple fed people some dog food by the entrance before they entered the house. Logan listened to Briar as she talked about what she and the kids did, which was quite entertaining for him.
The couple headed to their bedroom, where Briar packed her clothes since she hadn’t done so. Logan had already packed his clothes while waiting for Briar.
Briar understood how important this weekend was for her. So, she was very serious when she was picking the clothes to wear, especially lingerie. No matter what, this time she should succeed and cook the rice.
With that new threat arriving next week, if she didn’t get Logan under her skirts by then, who knows if he would be swayed?
After packing everything, she joined Logan, who was sitting on the bed, swiping his phone, doing who knows what there.
As if sensing that she was out, he raised his head as he looked at her and asked, "You are done?"
Briar nodded her head as she raised the bag she had packed with a smile.
Logan returned the smile and got off the bed while stashing his phone into his pocket.
"Then, let’s go!" he said as he reached his hand out to her.
Understanding what he wanted to do, Briar happily handed over the bag to him and the man carried it.
As the two of them made their way downstairs, Briar was over the mood as she thought to herself how this was Logan’s first time holding something for her.
She had been carrying this and that for him for over a decade. And it was time for her finally to receive such honors.
The two got downstairs, and the butler took the bag from Logan. Briar and Logan followed the butler outside, where the car was waiting.
Briar watched as the butler opened the boot and her bag was put there, next to another bag, which she assumed to be Logan’s.
