Chapter 120: Chapter 120: WEEKEND DATE WITH THE KIDS 2
Logan didn’t know what the customers were talking about or how they were curious to find information about his wife. He was in the office and looking at the jewelry, which brought a smile to his face.
He had consigned the jeweler to make him several pieces he wanted to give Briar. To complete the ritual, he had done his utmost to get her the finest and, looking at what was presented; he liked it so much.
The jeweler, seeing that, sighed with relief. Glad that his hard work paid off.
"I will take them. No need to redo them. For now, just focus on the rest of the pieces we agreed on," Logan said as he raised his head to look at the jeweler.
The jeweler put on a flattering smile and eagerly responded, "Don’t worry, Mr. Meyer. You will definitely be satisfied!"
Logan nodded nonchalantly at hearing that. He ordered the man to pack his things. Once that was done, he put them in a gift bag before leaving the office.
As he left the shop, he couldn’t help but notice that there were many people looking at him. However, he didn’t let that bother him. After all, he was someone who always attracted attention wherever he went.
Other people couldn’t bother him when he had a wife to please.

Back to Briar and the kids. They soon arrived at their destination and their car attracted a lot of attention. It was more so with the M plate, which was somewhat familiar to some people. Those who didn’t know it simply were drowning with envy at how some people were so rich to travel in such cars.
They couldn’t help but wonder what kind of people would come out of the car.
However, when the people in question made their appearance, question marks filled those who were curious.
Was that how rich people dress or carry themselves nowadays? They couldn’t help but wonder.
These people couldn’t be blamed honestly. Briar and the kids all looked as if they had whispered in each other’s ears and conspired to dress the same.
When going out to play during the weekend, the family usually do their best to dress comfortably and in clothes which allow them to play around.
And in their case, it was either pants or shorts. Briar and Cade wore pants while Lyra and Tiana wore shorts.
For the top, they all wore plain t-shirts, though the brand was something else.
They looked too simple from a distance; it was very confusing.
The people in question had no clue about other people. They were simply excited to explode the aquarium and take a lot of beautiful pictures to post later.
Briar held Tiana’s hand and led the girl to cross the road, while Cade and Lyra followed, making sure that they were very observant.
The four of them looked like siblings. It made those with sour hearts feel more bitter in their hearts.
And when the unfortunate ones overheard Tiana when they were buying tickets at the counter calling Briar, who was presumed the older sister, and second mother, their world shattered.
What kind of money-grubbing b**** was Briar to become a stepmother for such big kids?
Other people couldn’t help but size her more, their thoughts unknown but not pleasant.
Briar didn’t care about other people at all. Even if Logan was fifty, she would still love him. That’s how it was.
After paying for the tickets and receiving them, Briar led the kids into the familiar water world.
Briar shortly found herself being dragged there and there, by Tiana, who was very excited, as if she was seeing something extraordinary.
When Briar, who grew up in a village and was used to seeing fish in the river and even catching some for food, saw how she had to pay to see fish, she had mixed emotions.
However, maybe because of the kids, she soon found herself enjoying the process. It seems that the aquarium added other kinds of fish. She was more certain upon seeing a very ugly fish, which made her hair stand.
How could such a thing even exist?
And why were these people willing to bring such a thing out of the ocean to scare everyone? She understood that it was for educational purposes, but damn, looking at the fish which had shaggy protrusions on its body. She just couldn’t stand it.
"Second mother, that fish .... How could it be so ugly?" Tiana frowned in disgust as she looked at the sole fish which was at the bottom of the tank.
Briar chuckled faintly, seeing that she wasn’t alone.
Lyra, on the other hand, looked at Briar and Tiana who wore the same expressions on their faces and couldn’t help but shake her head helplessly and respond, "Darling, that’s a striated frogfish. Didn’t you read about how awesome it is?"
Tiana turned her head to look at her sister and harrumphed, "Umph! Who cares? I just know that it’s ugly!" before turning to Briar and said to her, "Second mother, let’s go elsewhere. I don’t want to see this fish at all."
This time, Briar didn’t object and willingly let Tiana drag her to see the other fish.
Lyra looked at Cade, who was stifling his laughter before they followed the two.
That episode was soon forgotten as the four of them were attracted by a school of neon tetras. These were ornamental fishes which were about 1,5 inches long with silver-white bellies and light blue backs.
Their colors were just so beautiful, the four of them were enamored. After a very long time, the four found themselves taking a lot of selfies and family portraits. As for that ugly fish, who remembered it?
With more beautiful ornamental fishes to feed their eyes with, the trip to the aquarium became more pleasant. The family had a great time.
Unfortunately, everything always has an ending. They managed to view what could be viewed, so they could only leave.
Rather than spending more time watching repeatedly, which might make the whole thing lose flavor, they planned to do other activities since there was still more time before the day ended.
After leaving the aquarium, Briar brought the kids to the parking lot, where they ate the snacks, she brought before they continued with their tour.
In the end, they found themselves lining up for a movie. Who would have thought that Tiana would see one of her favorite animations being advertised and she start acting all spoiled?
Since they didn’t plan to shop for anything, everyone agreed to watch the animation. At least it was an interesting one and didn’t lean towards kids, but all ages could watch it.
While the kids lined up for the tickets, Briar went to buy the popcorn and soda. The movie would be playing shortly, so they didn’t have time to play around.
After successfully purchasing everything, they entered the cinema and joined the few people who were willing to watch the animation.
The majority of the people who were on the line with them were buying other movie tickets. So just a small number opted for the animation. The theatre had a lot of empty seats and they didn’t need to worry about being recognized at all.
The animation was great, and everyone was smiling and laughing throughout.
As for Briar, she was busy texting with her friends and having a great time.
[X: That person will be arriving in the country on Monday.]
Briar’s brows rose when she heard that. She couldn’t help but smirk as she texted back, [Did she contact Anna by any chance?]
[X: Nope, she didn’t, but I tracked her calls and messages. She has been talking to someone shoddy. I am still looking into the contacts of that shoddy person to see if we can find Moses Fadu. If he is not there, it still won’t hurt to see what kind of people that woman is talking to.]
[That’s good. Keep an eye on them. I will be going to my hometown in two weeks. I will try to see if I can find him.]
[X: Okay. I will keep an eye out. But for that woman, don’t worry. I got some interesting things from her. As long as she doesn’t make things difficult for you when she comes, then we won’t bother with her.]
Briar smiled as she read that. Indeed, what crimes other people commit were none of her business as long as they didn’t cross paths.
If she gets provoked, she will be forced to show her hand. She wasn’t a sheep that was easily bullied.
While Irene was telling her about such updates, Bertha had her stories as well.
[B: Darling, there is a party next week. Do you want to come? I will introduce you to a few friends who will be beneficial to you.]
[Hehe, do you want to watch drama or what? Otherwise, why are you dragging me along?]
[B: Come on. It will be interesting. I promise you.]
[Then, will you buy me the clothing to go there?]
[B: Tche, don’t tell me that your man is bankrupt!]
[You are the one who wants me to go. You need to bear the expenses!] briar chuckled lightly after sending the text.
She had not heard anything about any party. She couldn’t help but wonder what kind of party Bertha wanted her to go to.
It shouldn’t be anything good. Bertha loved dramas, and it’s been a while since she witnessed any drama.
[B: Fine, you win! I will send the clothes over. Just make sure you attend. You can’t turn me down!]
And that was the response that Briar needed to be certain that drama was surely to play out at that party.
Since she had been invited, and the clothes promised, wouldn’t it be bad if she continued to refuse?
So, she smilingly sent a text to Bertha, [Looking forward to having fun, then!] before concentrating on the animation which was getting to the climax.
