Contractually Yours: The Billionaire's Unlikely Bride -
Chapter 122: A DATE WITH LOGAN 2
Chapter 122: Chapter 122: A DATE WITH LOGAN 2
Logan, like a gentleman, walked with her to the passenger’s side and opened the door for her.
"Please!" he teasingly said as he motioned for her to enter the car and she flushed at that, making him chuckle heartily.
Briar puffed her cheeks like a chipmunk as she sat on the seat, feeling indignant at being teased like that, though her body felt warm from that.
Since he could tease her in such a manner, she was no longer a stranger.
Logan moments later joined her in the car and suddenly reached out to her, startling her in the process.
’What does he want to do?’ she wondered anxiously as his face towered over hers.
’Could it be that he wants to kiss me?’ she suddenly felt shy at being kissed at the entrance of the house like that.
Although they had hugged earlier, a kiss was different. A lot of things could be done due to a kiss. She wasn’t one to control her feelings easily when it came to Logan.
Logan, seeing the thoughts written all over her face as she closed her eyes shyly, couldn’t help but smirk, his eyes smiling at how cute and readable she was.
He couldn’t help but feel at ease.
Such a wife was truly a blessing to him. He didn’t need to worry about more schemes anymore. In her eyes, there was only him.
He wanted to tease her while buckling her seat, but now seeing her eyelashes flattering like that, he couldn’t help himself but drop a kiss on her forehead as he chuckled.
It was just a fleeting moment, and yet to her, it felt like an eternity.
She finally came to be when she heard him saying, "Are you planning on going with your eyes closed like that?" his tone was full of teasing.
Briar, who didn’t expect to get a smooch on the forehead but was looking forward to something intense, was a bit shy. However, that teasing washed away all the shyness.
She snapped her eyes open and looked begrudgingly at him, her cheeks puffing once again.
Logan, upon seeing that, burst into a hearty laughter.
The trip to his other house was filled with laughter. And one side was suffering a huge loss. However, Logan was in a good mood.
How long had it been since he had so much fun?
It was a good thing he married Briar.
His parents always said, ’Marry your best friend,’ and he thought that he did that with Selena. Unfortunately, that wasn’t the case.
He couldn’t remember the times that the two of them laughed sincerely after marriage. He wasn’t even sure when things started going wrong. But that wasn’t of importance now. That Chapter was closed, and there was no need to brood over the past.
The present and future were with him right now. After this night, they would be a real couple. And that was what he should be concerned with.
Meanwhile, in Briar’s mind, she was dancing crazily with happiness. It was the first time that she had joked and laughed freely with Logan ever since she knew him.
She didn’t know he had that side at all. He looked handsome and sexy even when he laughed. No wonder why she wanted him to herself the very second, she saw him.
She just wished that he could be this joyful from now on when he was with her and the kids. It didn’t matter if he was like a cyborg outside. If vixens like Anna and Raine were to see that, wouldn’t they be adamant in fighting her to get her man?
However, she couldn’t help but wonder if Selena knew this side of Logan. Suddenly, she found herself feeling jealous of that dead woman. However, when she thought of how this man she didn’t want and yet forsake was hers again, she forgave Selena for her transgressions.
It was because of them that Logan was like this to her. How could she not be thankful?
With the two of them having a banter throughout the journey, the hours spent on the road weren’t visible at all.
It was the shortest drive she had ever taken. Those were her thoughts as she alighted the car in the underground parking lot.
That was her first time coming to this place. Selena never told her about it before. She was filled with curiosity as she looked everywhere.
Logan got all the bags, so she was walking like a lady boss, checking here and there.
As soon as they got into the elevator, and saw the elevator going to the top floor, Briar’s phone started ringing.
Wondering who was calling, she took it out of her small handbag and when she saw the ID caller, a guilty expression appeared on her face.
Logan, on the other side, smirked and let out a light chuckle upon seeing that.
Briar looked at Lyra calling and remembered that she hadn’t checked on the kids after leaving them.
She was a bad mother.
Nonetheless, despite her feelings, she still answered the call, "Hello, dear!"
[Um, second mother! Just checking on you!] There was teasing in that tone. It made Briar flush.
Logan on the other side was hearing his daughter’s words, his face twitching, wondering to himself if that’s how these two always talked.
"Hehe, got so busy that I failed to do the same. Are you home yet?"
[Um, we arrived a while ago. Are you still on the road or have you reached where you are going on a date?]
"We just arrived. Did you enjoy the night?"
[Hehe, it was fine, invited a few friends. Anyway, when were you going to tell us that you would be spending the weekend there?]
Damn! She wanted to curse as she looked at Logan, wondering why he didn’t tell them. Logan pretended like he wasn’t hearing a single thing. At least, he informed the butler to let the kids know when they arrive.
Seeing Logan playing dead, she could only get back to the call and responded, "I was going to tell you. I will make it up to you next week. How about that?"
[Heh, then make sure to agree to whatever we want. Is that a deal?]
Since she was in the wrong, Briar could only accept this despite knowing that the kids would really be on her throat next week. But what else could she do?
Logan watched the interaction with interest. Although he knew that the four were close, it was still amusing to see it continuously.
After promising Lyra an unfair condition, which she couldn’t change, Briar sighed heavily as she wondered what kind of tricks the kids would play on her next week. It wasn’t the first time that they did that. The last time she agreed to anything, .... She didn’t even want to think about it.
Logan pulled her out of her thoughts as he asked about what Lyra wanted. Briar, feeling frustrated at Logan for pretending to be dead, hastily narrated the story but didn’t tell him everything.
Logan found her amusing and cute seeing how she was throwing a tantrum. No wonder why his kids liked her. Who didn’t like cute things?
The two finally reached the top floor and exited the elevator.
"There are four suites on this floor. In the future, if we are lucky, I will introduce you to the neighbors. I am not sure if they are here or not," Logan said to her as they walked towards their own suite.
When she heard that, all the grievances she was holding against him vanished.
The fact that he would introduce him to his acquaintances made her very happy. Although she was introduced before, back then she was with her mother-in-law. Having Logan by her side has more punch. And she looked forward to that.
"Um, I will be waiting for that day!" she responded cheerfully, not hiding her eagerness to be shown around.
Seeing her like that, he felt happy and guilty. He was happy that she was his, and she loved him so much. He was guilty that until now he hadn’t managed to make her feel at ease and secure with her position.
A lot of people still doubted his decision. He heard a lot of whispers around about his choice of bride. But how could these people understand the fate between them?
Thankfully, after that night, he should manage to convince her and make her walk with her head held high, without feeling insecure or guilty about anything else.
She had confessed to him and his whole family knew, but did he ever make her understand or know about his feelings?
He doubted.
Anyway, all that would be solved in a moment.
Logan swiped the key card at the door and entered the suite first, with Briar following from behind.
"Wow!" Briar exclaimed as she set eyes on what was inside.
The mansion was luxurious, but the suite wasn’t that behind as well. With just a glance, she could tell the expensive taste of the owner and the familiar taste made her want to pull the paintings and vases from her sight.
She couldn’t get rid of Selena wherever she was. It seems.
As she followed Logan with a smile on her face which didn’t represent her true thoughts, her mind was full of what she wanted to see this suite of in the future.
After all, wouldn’t she be useless if she still continued to lose against Selena even after everything?
