Chapter 392: Chapter 285: The Most Handsome Guy_2

Wu Ji opened an elegant bamboo basket on the table, brought out a few prepared plates of snacks, and poured two cups of tea, handing one to Feng Yi.

"Business seems good." Feng Yi had seen the delivery riders coming and going outside the store and knew that Wu Ji’s business was doing quite well.

Wu Ji laughed and said, "I have to thank you for that, otherwise, with so many similar shops around, even if I ran my business well, I wouldn’t be able to attract so many customers."

After Feng Yi became popular online, the number of people visiting the store surged unexpectedly.

It wasn’t that Wu Ji was actively promoting; instead, some property owners in the community recognized Feng Yi after he went viral online and soon the information was dug up on the internet.

Many people who came to explore the shop inquired about Feng Yi, but Wu Ji didn’t reveal anything. Besides, there wasn’t much he knew about Feng Yi’s affairs, especially after Feng Yi went to Yang City, he knew even less.

Latterly, everyone who came exploring knew that Feng Yi lived in Yang City and hardly stayed here anymore, so gradually, people stopped paying attention to his address in Rong City. However, Wu Ji’s shop had its moment of popularity, largely because he seized the opportunity and put effort into the quality of his goods and marketing strategies.

Feng Yi took out two cans of tea leaves from his backpack, "A gift from an elder, he roasted the tea himself. I brought two boxes for you and Qian Feiyang."

Mute Uncle had given Feng Yi quite a lot of tea leaves this year, but he seldom drank them. The housekeeper did drink them, but not much.

The tea leaves Mute Uncle was giving now were different from the first batch Feng Yi had tasted; these were packaged nicely, evidently mass-produced. Each can wasn’t large but was placed in an attractive gift box.

Feng Yi kept some for Jia and others, and when he called Ding to come to Rong City this time, he had him bring a few boxes to give away.

Wu Ji quickly took the tea leaves, "Hey, I’ve been craving this for a long time, but your elder doesn’t sell it."

After carefully placing the tea cans aside, Wu Ji’s gaze lingered on Feng Yi’s face for a moment, and he said with a hint of jealousy, "Just like they say online, you stayed in the mountains for many days and you’re not even tanned!"

In terms of appearance, Feng Yi hadn’t changed much since he left Rong City last year, but Wu Ji felt differently about him.

It was hard to pinpoint what was different; he just felt that the Feng Yi in front of him was the same person, but not the same as before.

Maybe it’s because they haven’t seen each other for over half a year and have grown unfamiliar?

Suppressing the strange feeling inside, Wu Ji chatted with Feng Yi about recent developments and once again complained about the rats in the neighborhood.

"They annoy me from time to time. A few days ago, the community organized another rat extermination, which finally quieted things down a bit. My parents were so annoyed, they joined a travel group and went out to have fun. If I didn’t have to take care of the shop and couldn’t leave everything to my employees, I’d also like to join them for a vacation!"

Feng Yi asked, "Has it been like this all the time?"

Wu Ji shook his head, "Not all the time. It was much better after several large-scale exterminations last year, but this year they seem to be making a comeback, I guess we’ll need a few more rounds of large-scale campaigns."

Thinking of Feng Yi’s current profession, Wu Ji laughed and said, "Not only rats, but also their predators showed up. One neighborhood even found a snake. They called the firefighters to catch it, saying it was non-venomous, but it still made the residents of nearby communities nervous. At night, even a coil of rope on the ground can give them a scare. Not everyone is as courageous as you."

Now when they talk about snakes, Wu Ji still vividly remembers how Feng Yi had boldly captured a large venomous snake in the past.

After Feng Yi left Rong City, Wu Ji went fishing with his friends again, but didn’t dare venture into the thick bushes. If they encountered a venomous snake, there would be no expert around like Feng Yi to deal with it.

"Not just snakes. In our neighborhood, near the park, one of the shops on the street set up a large mousetrap and found a weasel in it every few days. They quickly released it, hoping it would eat more rats. There were even sightings of a wild cat hunting weasels in the park!"

"There are wild cats again?" asked Feng Yi.

"There always have been. Some people abandon their cats, and the community has to deal with it several times a year." While speaking, Wu Ji remembered something and asked, "Did you just live in the Yue Mountain villa during your time in Rong City? Do you still use your apartment here?"

"No, I don’t. Why?" asked Feng Yi.

"Do you need help managing the apartment? In our community, some homeowners came back after a while to find a rat’s nest at home, and were so angry they hired pest control. It’s good to have someone check on the property from time to time if it’s unoccupied for long, even if there are no rats. You would be able to address issues like leaks or other problems promptly."

"Okay, I’ll go take a look later."

Feng Yi wasn’t worried about rats as he made sure his doors and windows were securely closed to keep them out, but as Wu Ji mentioned, even without rats, other unforeseen issues could arise, so having someone check occasionally was a good idea.

After chatting for a while, an employee came to Wu Ji with an issue in the store.

"Go ahead with your work. I’ll take a look around the neighborhood and then go find Qian Feiyang," said Feng Yi.

"I should be free after getting through the afternoon rush. See you later." Wu Ji stood up.

"Alright."

Feng Yi arranged to have dinner with Wu Ji and Qian Feiyang later in the evening.

"Wait a moment!"

Wu Ji called out to Feng Yi, left for a moment, and then came back, carrying a paper box.

It was a special box with handles, custom-designed for the shop, printed with the logo and shop information, used exclusively for packaging.

"Afternoon tea snacks for you to enjoy with Qian Feiyang." Wu Ji glanced at the food delivery riders and customers inside and outside of the shop, then gestured to Feng Yi, "Go out through the back door."
