Chapter 391: Chapter 285: The Most Handsome Boy_1
Early in the morning, Feng Yi woke up on that pieced-together round bed.
Having stretched in his original form all night, he felt refreshed and invigorated!
He didn’t feel like getting up at the moment.
He decided to lie down a little longer.
The smells he detected through his nose were somewhat unfamiliar. Some were from the building materials of the renovated house, while others were from the environment outside, carried into the room by the breeze.
The scents from the environment outside weren’t unpleasant; the area near Yue Mountain already had many ecological parks and reserves, and the local greening efforts had also improved significantly. The smell of wild nature mixed with various human activities had a surprising sense of harmony.
Feng Yi thought about some past events, and as he came back to his senses, he finally noticed that something was amiss with the sensation beneath his head.
It was his tail tip that had ended up under his head while he was asleep.
"Tch."
The tail seemed to have a mind of its own.
He wiggled his tail, moving it away a bit.
He had intended to snooze a little longer, but the aroma of food was tempting him.
The drowsy feeling was swiftly ousted by hunger.
"Time to get up! Time to eat!"
Eating was the most important!
Feng Yi was now energized.
It was just a pity that the space in this temporary residence wasn’t big, so he couldn’t get out of bed with a tail-flicking flourish.
He crawled out of the bed, his heavy and solid tail landing on the floor with a "thud" that resonated dully.
Feng Yi carefully felt the vibration of the floor and nodded with satisfaction.
"The renovations aren’t bad."
If he had been in the house with the previous interior materials, ordinary tiles or wooden floors might have cracked.
After quickly washing up and getting dressed, returning to his human form, and changing into a casual home outfit, Feng Yi left his room.
The breakfast was already prepared, courtesy of Jia.
Jia was more skilled at this job than Ding, as he was more familiar with Feng Yi’s appetite and preferences.
When Bing wasn’t around, Jia doubled as a chef, working two jobs for double the pay.
Although Jia’s taste control couldn’t compare to Bing, who was a professional, he still had a good understanding of Feng Yi’s preferred dishes, meats, and specific cuts of meat.
Jia had also prepared the food around the usual time Feng Yi woke up, so by the time Feng Yi walked out of his room, breakfast was almost ready.
Seeing this, Ding brought out Feng Yi’s breakfast.
Unable to compete with Jia in cooking, and without much advantage in face time with the boss, Ding, of course, wanted to be more proactive in such a rare opportunity.
He finished breakfast quietly and efficiently.
Ding accompanied Feng Yi to Yang City carrying the rock Doctor Wu had repeatedly sent him private messages about, urging him to come.
Feng Yi, dressed in sporty casual attire with a hat and glasses, went outside for a stroll nearby.
He hadn’t been back for quite some time, and there had been significant changes in the area.
Feng Yi saw a particularly conspicuous sign at the side entrance of the neighborhood, which read "This Community Selected as City Garden Biodiversity Case."
The nearby amenities had completely changed from a year ago.
The presence of swans overwintering here had brought many changes.
Several areas around Yue Mountain had been carefully demarcated, indicating which were conservation areas and which were public recreation areas, all clearly marked with signs.
Some new ecological construction projects were still underway, and the management of the various communities nearby had become more standardized.
Last year, there were children secretly searching for wild bird eggs and soft-shelled turtles by the river, but this year, it was absolutely not allowed, with regular patrols along the river.
The quality of the river water beside the community seemed even better than last year’s, possibly due to another round of remediation.
After Feng Yi pulled a large catfish out of the river last year, the Joint Protection Bureau and local departments had conducted several searches of various sections of the river, and by May this year, several invasive catfish of different sizes had been found.
The local residents fully supported these measures, as whether or not they were environmentally conscious, they certainly had a sense of crisis. Those with children or pets were concerned about the potential danger of a large fish suddenly emerging from the river.
Feng Yi strolled around the neighborhood for a while, then jogged around the Yue Mountain area to observe the changes in the region and help digest his breakfast.
The weather was good, and there were many others out and about for leisure. Feng Yi did not stand out among them.
Nearing noon, he returned home to have lunch, after which he went out to meet with friends.
He didn’t drive but instead rented a shared bicycle to ride out.
There was no rush, and with no other tasks on hand, he took the opportunity to notice the changes in the city during the half-year of his absence.
From the suburban area all the way to the downtown district, the journey was long, but Feng Yi didn’t feel tired at all.
Honestly, as long as he was well-fed, such a bit of exercise was no burden whatsoever.
In Rong City, besides the villa in the suburbs, Feng Yi also had another apartment with an elevator in the inner city area.
It was the first property he had bought with his own money during his university years, the first house that truly belonged to him.
Although he no longer lived there, he hadn’t considered selling it.
He cycled to the vicinity of his community, parked the bike in the designated area, and without hurrying inside, Feng Yi glanced at "Ji Xiang Tea Garden" just outside the neighborhood. He pushed down the brim of his cap and pushed open the glass door of the shop, walking in.
Compared to last year, the shop now had a dedicated takeaway section.
The young shop owner Wu Ji was busy packing orders, glancing at the door from time to time.
Seeing Feng Yi enter, Wu Ji’s face lit up with joy, but he quickly composed himself and gave Feng Yi a discreet signal.
After finishing packing the takeaway order he was working on, Wu Ji told the staff at the takeaway window, "I’m stepping out for a bit on some business," and led Feng Yi to a private room inside.
With no one else around, the conversation was much more relaxed.
Although they hadn’t seen each other in a long while, they kept in touch online.
"Take a seat. Have some snacks. Everything on the table is fresh out of the oven
