Chapter 393: Chapter 285: The Most Handsome Guy_3

The staff in the store were busy, and when they saw the boss walking towards the store’s back door with someone, they didn’t pay much attention, since the boss would sometimes take relatives and friends through the back door when there were a lot of people in the store.

However, after that person had left, a thought flashed through an employee’s mind, as they recalled the figure they had just seen... Could it be?

Feng Yi had already carried snacks into the neighborhood and went to check on his own apartment first.

It smelled a bit, since no one had lived there for a while.

He opened the windows, pulled the wire mesh, ensuring ventilation while keeping out rodents and insects.

He planned to come back and close the windows when he left, to prevent rain from coming into the house in case of weather changes.

After checking everything and seeing no signs of mice intrusion, Feng Yi carried his bag to another friend’s place in the community.

Having contacted them in advance, it wasn’t long after Feng Yi rang the doorbell that Qian Feiyang came to open the door.

Feng Yi handed over the bag he was carrying, "From Wu Ji."

Qian Feiyang took the bag and pointed to a pair of slippers in the entryway, "New ones, no one has worn them. Just opened."

Feng Yi changed into the slippers in the entryway, and when he turned around, he saw a long, segmented creature swiftly and zigzaggingly crawling towards him from not far away.

When it reached Feng Yi’s feet, it turned to avoid him and continued to crawl towards the other side, finally stopping in a pile of feet.

Feng Yi looked at the thing in the corner and then turned his head to Qian Feiyang, casting a puzzled look.

Qian Feiyang glanced at Feng Yi, who remained unfazed, unable to see any sign of fright on Feng Yi’s face.

"It’s no surprise that an expert snake handler can’t be scared by a fake snake," Qian Feiyang gave a thumbs up.

Feng Yi smiled without explaining.

A real snake or a fake one, the smells were completely different; how could he ever confuse the two?

If there were a real snake here, he would’ve smelt it by now.

Qian Feiyang explained, "It’s a smart sensing obstacle-avoiding toy snake. One of my studio employees bought it a while ago to scare people with but then it became a cat toy. There were originally two, a silver ring snake and a cobra. The cobra one got destroyed by the cat. After being body-slammed, it became paralyzed, so now only the silver ring snake is left."

The cat mentioned was a marble cat that Qian Feiyang had adopted from the community when they were dealing with stray cats, named "Octagon."

At that moment, the cat was squatting under a low stool not too far away, watching this way.

Feng Yi walked over and picked up the electronic snake.

It was decently made; it looked fake at a glance, but its movements were quite fluid.

There was an elevated part on the head of the electronic snake, which housed the sensor.

Seeing the curious marble cat not far away staring this way, Feng Yi put the electronic snake back on the ground.

The electronic snake "crackled" towards the cat.

The cat, excited, rushed over and, monkey-like, leapt left and right before performing a body-slam with a hooked claw.

Crack!

Hearing the sound, Qian Feiyang hurried over, picked up the electronic snake to check it, "Good, it can last a bit longer."

He put the electronic snake away in a cabinet to the side, not letting the cat play with it anymore. Too noisy.

He had only wanted to scare Feng Yi a little bit.

As expected, it didn’t work.

Feng Yi walked into the house and looked around.

The interior layout had changed significantly and there were several more workstations, but no one else was present at the moment.

"Where are your studio employees?" asked Feng Yi.

"They just finished a big project, so I gave them time off," Qian Feiyang replied.

The holidays were flexibly scheduled; indeed they had just completed a big order, but they also had several smaller orders on hand. If the holidays were arranged flexibly, there would always be staff in the studio, but today, because Qian Feiyang had made plans with Feng Yi, he specifically gave the entire studio the day off, only telling them he had other things to do and asking them not to come to the studio.

Feng Yi sat on the couch in the living room.

The cat, unable to find its toy, ambled over, sniffing and inspecting, jumping onto the couch and settling next to Feng Yi.

Seeing this scene, Qian Feiyang showed a look of surprise, "It’s not been a few months since it saw you, and it seems less averse to you than before!"

Previously, the cat would show a strong aversion to Feng Yi, but today their interaction was surprisingly harmonious. Strange!

Qian Feiyang wondered, "Maybe it’s because it has met more people now, grown more sociable, and is no longer scared?"

Feng Yi replied, "Perhaps."

That was impossible.

The reason the cat wasn’t averse to him now was that after Feng Yi had reined in his aura, all the information carried by his personal scent was shut off, and his breath was composed only of nitrogen, oxygen, carbon dioxide, and other such gases, without any other scent molecules carrying personal characteristics.

Only the smells belonging to the surrounding environment clung to his clothes.

Simply put, Feng Yi currently lacked "human scent."

Without the normal olfactory information of a living being, to an animal’s eyes, he was indistinguishable from other animals or humans; it could not determine what kind of creature he was, and its cognition was disrupted.

That was the situation at the moment.

In the eyes of the cat, Feng Yi might have been categorized as an unfamiliar yet not entirely strange "human-shaped cat climbing frame."

"Animals’ perception is quite interesting," Feng Yi remarked.

Qian Feiyang couldn’t discern the deeper meaning behind Feng Yi’s words and thought he was simply praising his cat’s sharp senses. He laughed and agreed:

"Yeah, their perception is very keen. They can detect even the smallest and weakest differences, things that are invisible to the naked eye, they just know!"

Feng Yi queried, "Like what?"

Qian Feiyang replied, "Like its paw pads. Despite a thick layer of cat litter, it can sense whether there’s poo underneath!"

Feng Yi felt a bit reluctant to explore such perceptions.

Glancing away, Feng Yi noticed a small felt object in a clear box on the table.

"Made from cat fur?" Feng Yi could smell the cat.

"Yes," said Qian Feiyang. "One of my staff made it by needle felting the fur combed from the cat. We’re collecting more fur, and she says she’ll make a bigger one next time."
