Chapter 890: Chapter 0890: Dr. Frank

At dinner time, Ye Qiu was still eating hotpot with Zhou Wenting and Louise.

After dinner, Ye Qiu headed to the winery and saw the staff sorting the grapes. They had worked at Count Charley’s winery for a long time, so they were very skilled.

After taking a look, Ye Qiu went back upstairs in the castle. As he was about to take a bath, he saw Louise approaching again.

"Louise, is something the matter?"

"There’s a medical conference in Paris tomorrow. Are you going?"

"What’s the purpose of this conference?"

"It’s currently the most important medical exchange conference in Europe."

"Alright, let’s go and see!"

Actually, Ye Qiu wasn’t particularly interested in Western medicine.

Nevertheless, since Louise said so, he decided to go along with her. After all, he had time to spare.

Once Louise returned to her room, Ye Qiu took a bath in the bathroom. Then, he came back, read for a while, and continued cultivating the "Primordial Five Emperors Technique." Considering his current situation, he should be able to break through again soon.

The next morning, Ye Qiu woke up, washed up, and went downstairs, where he found Louise and Zhou Wenting already awake.

Last night, Louise had already told Zhou Wenting about attending the medical conference today. Zhou Wenting, naturally interested in such matters, was also curious about Ye Qiu’s medical skills. If she brought Ye Qiu along, she wondered how things might play out.

After Ye Qiu came downstairs and had breakfast with Zhou Wenting and Louise, he turned to Housekeeper Eugene and said, "We’re heading to Paris first; we probably won’t return tonight."

When they got into Louise’s red BMW, Ye Qiu just brought a set of clothes, while Louise and Zhou Wenting each packed a set as well, in case they ended up staying overnight in Paris.

Ye Qiu had initially planned to buy two luxury cars during this trip. After all, luxury cars were much cheaper here compared to Huaxia, and Ye Qiu could drive them himself or give one to Housekeeper Eugene.

Leaving the Eastern Castle and heading toward Paris, Ye Qiu noticed that French highways had relatively few cars. Moreover, traveling at a speed of around 120 km/h, they reached Paris city center in less than two hours.

"What time does this conference start?"

"Nine-thirty."

Looking at the time, Ye Qiu saw that it was already close to ten o’clock, past the conference’s start time. He wondered if they could still get in?

Upon arriving at the parking lot of the hotel where the conference was being held, Louise parked the car. As Ye Qiu, Louise, and Zhou Wenting stepped out, Louise noticed several missed calls on her phone, all from the conference organizer.

Louise promptly called back. When the organizer answered, they asked, "Miss Louise, haven’t you arrived yet?"

"We’re here now; we’ve been on the road before this."

"No worries. Some attendees were delayed as well, so the conference has been pushed back by an hour."

As it turned out, Louise’s timing was just right.

When the organizer personally came out to escort Louise inside, Ye Qiu noticed that the man, a middle-aged gentleman in a suit with a self-assured and lofty demeanor, became noticeably respectful upon seeing Louise.

"Viscountess Louise, hello."

"Dr. Fran, these two are my friends. This is Dr. Ye—he’s the one who recently cured Count Charley’s Archbishop’s illness. And this is Miss Zhou, my university classmate."

Initially, Dr. Fran assumed Louise had simply brought along some friends.

To his surprise, this young Asian man dressed plainly turned out to be the doctor who had healed Count Charley’s Archbishop. That implied remarkable medical skills.

As for Zhou Wenting, Louise’s classmate, her medical foundation was likely solid as well.

Most of the attendees invited to the conference were medical masters, PhDs, or leaders and members of medical research teams.

Among them were likely annual Nobel Prize nominees.

Ye Qiu, Zhou Wenting, and Louise followed Dr. Fran inside and arrived at the conference hall, where a large round table had been set up.

At European conferences, round tables were generally used, symbolizing equality, fairness, and freedom—key aspects of Knight culture. Everyone’s contributions and opinions during the discussion were treated equally.

Since Ye Qiu and Zhou Wenting weren’t official invitees for this event, even though Dr. Fran honored Louise’s status, they didn’t have seats at the table. Instead, they had to sit outside, likely alongside the journalists covering the event.

Ye Qiu didn’t mind. He was simply accompanying Louise and wanted to see what these people were discussing in terms of medicine.

Ye Qiu was aware that elite professionals in basically every industry, including medicine, largely hailed from Europe and America. In Asia, Japan led the way in producing top medical talent.

This disparity made Ye Qiu realize the tremendous gap between Huaxia and the developed nations in this field.

Ye Qiu and Zhou Wenting hadn’t been seated for long when people began arriving at the round table—middle-aged men and women mostly in their thirties, forties, fifties, and even sixties. Predominantly white, a few mixed ethnicities were present as well. They were all dressed in suits or dresses.

The event organizer representing the European Medical Association presided over the conference—not Dr. Fran, who was merely head of a local French medical exchange association.

There were also journalists and other related personnel invited to observe or report, seated outside the main round table, just like Ye Qiu.

At this moment, no one paid attention to the plainly dressed young man. Everyone was focused on the people seated at the center.

Soon enough, the conference entered its main discussion topics: current research on cancer, leukemia, and other terminal illnesses, including the latest advancements in AIDS treatments.

Of course, though they were exchanging insights, they wouldn’t reveal their newest, most effective Western medicines during the conference.

Ye Qiu understood the French being spoken, and so did Zhou Wenting.

Zhou Wenting listened attentively, captivated by the discussion. As a doctor specializing in internal medicine at Marseille University, she had studied such medical topics in her university research.

On the other hand, Ye Qiu was growing bored. He recognized the Western medical terms being used, but hearing them nonstop left him feeling somewhat uncomfortable.

Furthermore, Ye Qiu observed that as the discussions dragged on, disagreements emerged among the Western doctors, and it seemed arguments might break out at any moment.
