CONRI’S POV

"They have drugged us. Help "The last words Freki pushed through the mind link.

I stood frozen at the construction site and the pat on my back snapped me out of it as Everest yelled, "What is wrong ?"

"Lucian is in danger. Someone drugged him and he had blacked out," I responded to Everest. I remained stoic as Dolf growled and my body shook with anger and terror. From a distance, I heard Everest making calls and in minutes, he pulled me towards his car and we sped off from the construction site.

"Zeeb tells me that Lucian went to the City Council Hall offices to follow up on the property agreement an hour ago," Everest spoke as he drove.

I closed my eyes and willed Dolf to calm down. Twenty minutes later, we arrived outside City Hall where Zeeb, Anisha, and Tala had arrived. Surprisingly, with the were Levi and Benjamin.

As we alighted from the car, Anisha rushed towards me. " I can’t sense him. I usually can do so since we share the same blood"

The hairs at the back of my neck rose and when I turned around, I sensed the presence of the Tizheruk. He was walking towards us, looking incognito, in a long black leather coat and sunglasses, and a hat.

"What happened? I sensed your fear from afar, " He whispered.

"Lucian is missing," I croaked. "The last message Freki sent was that someone had drugged them "

"What?" I heard Anisha gasp behind me.

"I will be right back. "Tizheruk walked into the City council hall. We all watched him in surprise as he entered the place like he owned it. Five minutes later, Zeeb was pacing up and down when we spotted Tizheruk walking out of the building.

"Did you find anything? "Zeeb asked him when he got near.

"A woman with brown hair and long nails dosed in perfume was the one who did it " Tizheruk announced.

"Duciana" Tala cursed.

"They used the underground parking to leave. The scent of the woman is strong, I can trace it. "He pointed out.

"Let us go," I commanded as we got into Everest’s car with Tizheruk and left the City council hall.

"I need your help to do it, "Tizheruk whispered.

"Whatever you need, "I responded.

I felt the intrusion into the mind link before I felt the Tizheruk’s power rumble into my body. My mouth was agape as our senses merged, and then the scent of Duciana became clear. Much to our surprise, Lucian’s scent was next to her, and we followed the trail they left behind.

An hour later, we arrived at the last hotel by the pier and jumped out of Everest’s car before he even stopped and heard him curse.

"Your mate is here. I have pushed my power into the mind link. He is now awake. " Tizheruk whispered and then I felt his power recede. I need to leave before I arouse any more suspicion. " He stated.

He disappeared before I could thank him, and I made a mental note to do it later.

The convoy of cars from Tala, Anisha, Benjamin, and Zeeb arrived. Levi was nowhere to be seen, and I heard Everest speak. " He went to report the matter to the pack."

"Lobo Aria is involved, " I growled.

"I can sense your presence mate" I heard Lucian’s words push through the mind link.

"Yes. I came with Benjamin and Tala. "I responded. "Freki has been helpful."

"Lyal Aria is here with Duciana. They used napella in the chains that were holding me. It knocked both Freki and me down. I am tired on the bed. " Lucian informed me.

"I will tear his head off," I seethed and heard Dolf growl.

"No. We need him alive for the KODA council." Lucian advised.

"Fine. "I snapped angrily.

"I need a pair of scissors that can cut through chains," I spoke up.

"Coming right up. When we walked into the hotel front office building, I sensed the presence of Hunter as he entered the hotel parking lot area.

Zeeb had already rushed to demand which room Duciana was in. The receptionist was adamant at first but her eyes widened when Benjamin walked over and stated, " Little girl, unless you want to be an accomplice, you better tell us the room number"

Everest pulled me aside and whispered, "It would be better if you went with Benjamin and Tala"

"Agreed," Tala seconded his suggestion.

As we entered the lift, I turned to Benjamin and said, " I need a favor. "

"Go ahead," Benjamin encouraged me.

"I need to shift. "I responded.

Tala’s eyes widened as the ding of the lift told us we had reached the floor where Lucian was being held. We got out and walked towards the fire exit as Benjamin stated, " Go ahead, I will stand on guard"

I pushed the door open and then closed. I was not going to let anyone know that I could shift with my clothes on and hence I decided to remove my clothes one by one, folded them, placed the clothes by the corner, and then shifted.

I pushed the door open with my snort and when I appeared, Benjamin and Tala both stood agape. I growled at them to snap them out of the trance and Benjamin rushed the room door that we had been given.

He kicked down the door, and we heard the screams of Duciana. As we walked in, I saw Lucian lying on the bed and Dolf’s growl was so loud that it made Duciana faint. Standing next to her was Alpha Lobo’s brother, Lyal. He tried to rush out of the room but Benjamin was faster as he rushed and pushed him to the ground.

As Lucian walked over, I turned around so that he could hold on to me. Dolf was in a killing mood, but by the way, Lucian still seemed groggy. I chose to prioritize him and we left the room. Once I shifted back, I carried him down the stairs to the parking, Zeeb, was waiting for us. We left the hotel and as we sped off the highway, Lucian leaned down to whisper," We need to access the Adora Crystal room tonight. This is the right time since Lobo Aria will be more worried about his brother’s crimes"

I nodded at him and turned to Everest. " Can you have it arranged? We shall use the hospital as a decoy and then get to the Adora crystal room "

"Let me make a few calls," Everest stated.

"I was so worried. " I pushed the words through the mind link.

"I know Husband. " Lucian leaned on my chest and wrapped his hands around me. " It scared me when I felt Freki blacking out. I have never felt something so fearful. I am sorry, husband." He responded through the mind link.

"How is this your fault? "I growled. "I wanted to kill them."

"How did you find me?" Lucian whispered out loud.

"Tizheruk," I responded and proceeded to add, "He will meet us later. ". I did not want to delve much into the Tizheruk and chose to push aside the matter. Lucian must have sensed it, as he nodded and snuggled deeper into my chest.

"Rest," I encouraged him" I shall wake you up when we get to the hospital."

Half an hour later, I carried a sleepy Lucian to the hospital emergency as the nurses received him, and we proceeded to work on the paperwork as they admitted him. As we settled into the hospital’s private ward, the buzzing on my phone snapped me from the angry trance I was in. The caller ID even made me feel anguished as I received my godmother’s call.

"Hello Godmother"

"Conri, Is Lucian okay?" She asked.

"The doctors have checked him and pumped the drugs out of his blood. He is asleep," I responded.

"Luna and I have already started preparing the case. Plus, I have prepared the guards at the KODA council. You will arrive at midnight and have one hour to get in and out, "She informed me.

"Thank you, Godmother"

"I can feel the anguish in your voice, but put it aside, Conri. We have more urgent matters tonight. Get your grit back and finish what you need to do. We shall deal with the Aria’s later" She disconnected the call.

"She is right" Dolf pushed the words in.

"I know." I nodded. " I have been holding back for too long. After this attack on Lucian, I will no longer hold back"

"Why are you frowning?" I heard Lucian speak. "You will mess up that handsome face that I like"

I turned around, and he was wide awake as his eyes twinkled at me. " Are you feeling better? The doctor assured us that all the drugs had been cleared of your blood stream. You should be good now"

He beckoned me with his hand and I leaned over and Lucian pressed his lips to mine, lacing my fingers in his hair. I pulled him in for a kiss, as we leveled in the taste of each other. He was comforting me and I felt myself let go of all the anguish. When the kiss ended, Lucian whispered, "You will never lose me. We are bound together forever"
