Chapter 392: THE PROPHECY : PART ONE
IMMORTAL REAL 10,000 YEARS AGO
SEA GOD’S POV
" Have you discovered who the person who appeared in the East Sea is?" I asked the General as we walked on the beach late at night admiring the moonlight.
" Not yet " The General in command of the serpent shifters responded.
" By the way the waves rose, this person is not simple. " I responded.
My name was Bering Tisikpuk, the serpent sea god. I have lived for more than 2000 years ruling the sea and being the leader of the serpent shifters. All was peaceful until a force in the sea woke me from my sleep in the pearl nest last night. I swam ashore and never saw who or what it was. Today, I decided to patrol the vast beach and check for any signs of the disturbance last night but I came up with nothing.
" My Lord, we shall keep watch and be vigilant in this matter. " The General announced.
I left the beach, went back to the sea nest, and pushed my powers into the vast sea, listening in to catch what transpired last night. It was close to midnight when I felt the presence of a large shifter wolf on the beach by the sea. I swam ashore, shifted, and followed the scent.
My eyes popped out when I spotted the most beautiful white wolf standing on the beach and then it turned around and our eyes met. I felt like the wind had been knocked out of me as my beast rose in return.
" Did I disturb your sleep?" Her voice pushed through my mind and surprised me since I was a serpent shifter and she was a wolf. Power radiated around her and I realized that he was an immortal wolf.
" Yes, " I responded.
" My apologies, I needed a place to hide so that the gods in the immortal realm would not find me for a while. " She pushed the words through and then shifted into a human form fully dressed. Her white hair matched the white fur in her wolf but nothing prepared me for her beauty. She was stunning with the figure of a goddess and the aura of royalty. She stood barefoot as her feet dug in the sand playfully.
" You are the one who caused a stir in the sea last night ?" I asked her.
" I apologize " She smiled and turned to face me.
I nodded and turned around to leave but my serpent shifter whined in anger while I felt my body unwilling to leave her presence but the voice of reason told me she was way beyond my reach. Nevertheless, I walked away from her and then heard the chuckles that came from her, and then the words that followed stopped me short " Serpent Sea god, why would you resist what is inevitable?"
I turned my head around and our eyes clashed. There was humor in her eyes and when I lowered my eyes to her lips there was a small smile plastered. " Inevitable?"
" Mmmh" She nodded and slowly walked towards me and stood staring up at me. " The vision of my sleep does not do justice to your face, Bering. You are so handsome in real life "
" Who are you ?" I demanded.
" Hnoss" She responded and my eyes widened in shock.
" Hnoss? " I gasped. This was the daughter of Freya, Odin’s concubine from the immortal realm. How did she get here? No wonder the waves in the water were so loud when she landed from the sky.
" Yes " She smiled at me.
" Why are you here in the human realm? " I took a step back and raised my hands in defense
She smiled and then moved closer to me and said " Bering, I have been dreaming about you for so many years. And I finally saw your face last night in my dream. Using my powers, I asked my wolf to locate you and was surprised that you are a serpent shifter god, handsome and one of a kind. I heard tales today of how fair and just you are to your people and they sing praises about you. I even became envious of the way the men and women described you. "
" Why would you be jealous? We have nothing to do with each other" I stated
" Are you going to lie to yourself ?" She emphasized.
" I have no idea what you’re talking about. Go back to the immortal realm. I don’t want trouble. "I responded, turned around and even made it to the water, shifted, and went back to the pearl nest.
Two days later, the waves in the ocean stirred up in the wee hours of the morning and woke me up. " What the fuck does she want ?"
I chose to stay for an hour before I went to the land to see what was happening. On the beach stood two guards and a tall man stood at the beach looking furious.
" Serpent Sea god, we are looking for one of our own. She landed here four days ago. Her name is Hnoss from the immortal realm. Have you seen her?" He asked.
" Yes. She was here two days ago. I left her on the beach and went back into the water. Who are you ?"
" Baldur" He responded and my body froze. This was Freya’s son, Hnoss’ cousin.
" It’s a pleasure to meet you" I bowed.
"We need to find Hnoss, allow us to intrude for a while, and then we shall be out of your hair" He responded.
I nodded and went back into the water. Hours later my body felt anxious and I dedicated myself to go on land in search of Hnoss. I followed the scent from her wolf and finally found her on the east river rocks, basking in the sun without a care.
" Why are you here?" She demanded without turning back.
" I am looking for you. Badlur arrived in the wee hours of the morning and is on land searching for you" I responded. " Don’t bring trouble to the sea, please. My people are kind and peaceful. "
" Trouble?" She turned around and her eyes were swollen from crying. " Did I ask for this? " She raised her hands in annoyance.
" What are you talking about? " I demanded.
" Bering, what does it feel like between us ?" She asked.
" Between us? How can there be anything like a feeling between me and an immortal?"
She moved so fast and in an instant stood next to me and raised herself on tiptoe and then pressed her lips on mine. I felt a shot of electricity raze from her lips to mine and my hands voluntarily went to her waist. She opened her mouth and pushed in for a kiss and my whole body responded we must have kissed for so long because when we came up for air, I sensed the presence of Baldur. He was standing with the guards a few meters away watching us.
" Did you not say you had no idea where she was?" I heard Baldur’s growl.
" Go back with him and stop causing trouble " I pushed her away, walked to the water dove in, and went back to the pearl nest. My body was on high alert as I tried to calm down but my beast was anxious as I trembled from the aftermath of kissing Hnoss.
" You have gone mad, Bering," I said to myself. " How could you kiss her?"
" She belongs to us " My beast pushed the words through.
" She does not belong here. She is an immortal " I responded out loud.
" She is ours. " My beast was adamant as he roared.
I huffed and went out for a swim. For hours and hours, I swam in the sea from corner to corner and even spent time in the sea bed, calming my nerves. I swam ashore moved to the beach, and took a walk enjoying the night breeze.
The scent of Hnoss hit my nostrils and even my beast stirred happily.
" You ran, again" Her voice reached my ears.
" Why are you back? How many Immortals are going to come to the human realm looking for you?" I turned around and gasped when I spotted the injuries on her neck, arms, and legs.
" I bet the whole realm will be here for me " She chuckled.
Anger rose in my body and I could not imagine anyone hurting Hnoss. I moved and pulled her in my arms and whispered " Am sorry "
" Make it up to me. " She laced her arms around me.
I picked her up, walked to the water, and took her to the pearl nest. It took three days for her body to heal. I went on land when she was asleep and brought her clothes and food. Hnoss was happy in the pearl next but a gnawing feeling rose in my body the more she spent time in the next.
"It’s time to go on land" I emphasized.
" Why are you chasing me away ?" She responded in anger.
" Hnoss, we better go to the right. I don’t want to hide like a rat, " I responded.
Her eyes widened and she nodded in response. Later that afternoon, I took her back to the beach, and to our surprise, there were so many immortals waiting for us.
" Mother" Hnoss gasped and I realized that he was Freyja, Odin’s wife.
" Am I still your mother ?" Freyja roared.
" Yes, " Hnoss bowed.
I stood on the sidelines and watched the interaction.
" Aunt, I found her kissing him, " Baldur reported.
" How is it any of your concern? This is my mate, the serpent sea god, Bering Tisikpuk" Hnosss announced.
