Alexander’s pov

When I arrived by the beach, I found Tala, Hunter, and Jerusha in a fierce fight with the one mangy wolf, three serpent shifters, and one vampire.

" We need to use the power of the sea, " Yari said. " That is how to fight them"

I rushed to the water and shifted in my serpent form. I swam under the boat and used the power of the water to push the boats away from the beach the sea tide rose as Yari burst into laughter and the serpent shifter stopped fighting and stared at the rising tide as it swept the boats further away to the sea. By the time I got back to the beach the wolf and the vampire were already subdued but the serpent shifter surrendered as they stared at me in wonder.

" You are General Alexander? " One of them asked in shock as his eyes raked my body up and down.

" Yes," I nodded and stared at him in question waiting for him to speak.

" Abyssal told us that you were dead. Killed by the Golden shifter Alpha, he used your body scales to harness his power " He whispered.

" He is kidding right ?"Jerusha scoffed.

" No. We have been in the nest below the pearl farm hiding because Abyssal told us that the new Alpha of the Golden shifter pack drowned the serpent sea god and killed his General. The people of Sitka have been hiding and living in fear. Hence we needed to come to Chugach mountain and take the power of the Alpha away from him.

" A bunch of lies," Tala snickered. " The serpent sea god is very much alive. And they are best friends with our pack Alpha and the King of Wolves Conri Dolf.. "

" What about the massacre in Tochigi? The death of Kaka the great seer and the vampire clan? ’ The vampire that Jerusha had subdued asked.

" Kaka is dead. He died when he attempted to harness the power of the Tabular crystal. I am a hybrid and vampires are very much alive. The head of the Yakuza is a hybrid too and there are so many vampires in Tochigi. " Jerusha responded.

The mangy wolf whined and Hunter growled so loud that it whined in submission. " You have been fucking lied to"

" It seems that Abyssal imprisoned all of you, " Tala snickered.

" You mentioned a pearl nest?" I walked closer to the serpent shifter.

" Yes. The Island near Chugach has a pearl farm. Underneath there is a pearl nest " He nodded.

" But there is a barrier created by Abyssal " The other shifter responded.

" Is Abyssal the dark figure that wears a cloak?" I demanded.

" Yes, General " He responded.

" That is not Abyssal but Aipaloovik, the evil magic of the sea " I growled.

" What do you mean ?" He gasped.

" You have been fooled, ’’ Hunter said. " Aipaloovik has been killing shifters and taking their powers to strengthen and form a body and slowly kill the host Abyssal. "

" No" The Vampire shook his head in denial.

" Yes," Jerusha responded. " He killed so many vampires and you were fooled"

" He took us to the massacre site and said it was the King of Wolves and the golden shifter pack. Izak and Austin confirmed it. " The vampire’s voice rose.

" Did you witness any killing or did they take you to the massacre sites after the shifters were dead? Did you not question what happened to the shifters? There must have been something off. Shifters are blessed with sixth senses and you must always rely on them. " Tala growled.

" Something seemed off today when he left us at the beach. He rarely leaves the pearl nest but today he was in a hurry. He mentioned that the mountain god’s powers would be enhanced today by the full moon hence he wanted to be in Chugach mountain by nighttime time " The serpent shifter responded.

We all turned to the sky and for sure the sky had the clearest moon we have ever seen.

" Fuck " Hunter cursed.

" How do we access the pearl nest?" I inquired.

" We found the tunnel when we went to recheck as per the instructions of Uncle Cadman. But there was a barrier at the bottom of the Island and it was inaccessible. " Hunter explained.

" That is because only a shifter with the power of the ancient spears can remove the barrier. " The serpent shifter announced.

" Aren’t we lucky" Tala drawled and Hunter chuckled.

" Both of you go. I will stand guard by the beach. " Jerusha stated.

" What about the five of them?" Tala asked.

" I will go with Hunter. The two of you remain on guard. " I nodded and rushed to the water and shifted into my serpent form. Hunter got on my back and Yari created the magic bubble for him to breathe underwater and we dove into the sea. Using the power of the sea, we swam with speed and we arrived at the pearl farm. True to his words, the hunter directed me to the tunnel and then I saw the magic barrier.

" I see it " Yari’s voice boomed and then it moved from my body and then flew to the barrier and slashed it. The barrier slowly gave way as Yari repeated the action over and over and finally no barrier stood in the water we swam deeper inside and then standing in the middle of the ocean was a large pearl.

" So this is the hideout " Hunter pointed at the large pearl.

" Yes. We need to circle and assess the pearl nest" I responded but Yari was already at it as he pushed his power and then the pearl next opened. There were so many serpent shifters in chains and in the middle of the pearl nest was a woman lying on a gold bed as the power from the ones in the chain slipped into her.

" What the actual fuck is this?" Hunter demanded

" This is the madness that Aipaloovik has been doing. If my guess is correct, he is trying to revive his wife using the power of the sea and the pearl nest. And he is harnessing shifter power to keep her body alive. This method is forbidden by the gods and that is how he turned evil." Yari’s voice boomed and he flew in the pearl nest and released all the chained shifters and then the ocean shook.

" What the fuck was that ?" Hunter whispered.

" I just broke the barrier and removed all the magic that was in place. That means this pearl is about to collapse and we should get out of here" Yari’s voice boomed as I turned around we rushed back to the tunnel and moved away from the pearl farm as I felt the sea tide rise as the water rose from the collapse of the pearl next. Yari lit the way as we were swept under the sea as the current rose and even the sea bed continued to shake.

" How much power was in the nest?" Hunter asked.

" It seems to have been harnessed for so many years. I bet they removed the pearls that Haida placed in the pearl farm and took them to Aipaloovik pearl nest." Yari spoke up.

" How could he have a pearl nest? I thought the serpent sea god is the only one with a pearl nest?" Hunter asked as we came up from the deep sea and rose above the waters. The clear skies and the full moon illuminated the seawater, a view that made me feel at ease for the first time since we entered the deep sea waters.

" That was close" Yari’s voice boomed as he hovered over us.

" I bet by now, Aipaloovik has already realized that the next is gone. We have the upper hand and he is bound to rush back to the sea and abandon his quest to get the mountain power" I spoke up.

" We better rush back to the beach, I can sense the worry in Tala" Hunter stated and Yari went back into my body as we swam up to the beach from a distance Tala we spotted Tala pacing up and down and when she spotted us, her shoulders sagged in relief. We got to the beach and Hunter got off as Tala rushed and threw herself in his arms.

" These two are always making us feel embarrassed. ’’ Jerusha chuckled just as Yari went back into my body.

" You destroyed the pearl nest?" The serpent shifter looked scared.

’ I did,’ I pointed out.

" How? " He asked as they all stepped towards me.

" Come out" I commanded Yari and he got out of my body in spear form and it floated beside me with a golden glow.

The serpent shifters went on their knees and bowed to Yari " Show us mercy oh great spear. We have been misled and committed great sins. "

" There is no time to waste. We need to get back to Chugach mountain. Go back to Chugach and find the Sitka council member called Chary. She will offer you protection" I commanded they shifted and got into the water.

" As for the two of you, you need to disappear right now before Isamu finds you" Hunter advised. They took off to the woods and never looked back.

I opened the mind connection that the mountain god had provided and pushed the words through " The pearl nest for Aipaloovik has been destroyed. And the boats they arrived in have been taken care of, we are coming back to Chugach prison. "
