UNCLE CADMAN’S POV

While everyone walked away from the cave, I stood back and turned around and the mountain god restored " You do remember what I said years ago, your life belongs to me. But you will lose it while trying to save them. "

" It’s worth it" I responded. " But I need to know how to subdue Aipaloovik"

" It’s not your calling. You need to protect the mountain. The immortal, the King, and the sea god will take care of him " He responded.

" Thank you " I nodded and left the mountain cave and pushed the rock back in place.

By the time I got to the entrance of the Chugach prison, I found Tala, Jerusha, and Levy in a meditative mood. I opened my senses and felt the presence of Hunter and Lovita headed to the prison. I smiled leaned on the gate and spoke up. " Meditation is good but your bodies are too tensed up and unless you relax you will not be able to feel the mountain power.

Tala was the first to respond and say " I can sense Hunter and Lovita headed up the mountain. "

My eyes widened in surprise and I pushed my power into her and realized that Elisha, her Wolf, was a born tracker. She has managed to merge her powers into the mountain.

" Good good. " I responded to Tala and their eyes snapped open.

" How do you do it ?" Jerusha demanded.

" I have no idea. I just listened to my wolf. " Tala responded.

Half an hour later, Hunter and Lovita appeared and Tala rushed to Hunter and threw herself in his arms.

" I am glad you are safe. I sensed you a mile away " Tala boasted.

" What did we miss? Where are Everest and Commander Abram?" Lovita demanded.

" They went to get Maurice since the mountain god already gave us a warning that we need to have him locked up in here " Jerusha responded.

"Why? " Lovita asked.

" Did you just say mountain god?" Hunter’s shocked voice rose.

" Yes. Uncle Cadman took us to see the mountain god. And he warned us that we need to get Maurice locked up in the prison since he carries some of the Aipaloovik magic in his human body and we need to keep the people in Chugach down safe." Tala explained.

" Hence Everest and Commander Abram rushed down the mountain to bring him here." Levy supplied.

" What did you find?" I turned to Hunter.

" The pearl farm has a tunnel below. There is a magic barrier at the tunnel’s entrance under the water. We could not access it and that is why the island seems surrounded by an invisible power around it. I am even scared to think of the implication of Haida planting the pearls from the serpent sea god’s nest," Lovita spoke up.

" I knew it, " I muttered through gritted teeth.

" That is why Cyrus stuck around for so long even though there was no business running on the farm. Once the pearls were planted it must have accelerated whatever power they needed to do evil. "Hunter added.

" What about the Tabular? Do you know where Tizheruk threw it ?" I demanded.

" No," Lovita responded. " He was in a hurry to leave the pearl farm that day and I later discovered he was poisoned by the Tabular as he fought the seer Kaka’’

" Once Maurice gets here, what is the plan? " Hunter asked.

" The mountain power will purify him and we only have to deal with Aipaloovik, Izak Dolf, and Austin Carter. I doubt there are more people unless they have an army, " I responded.

" Has anyone heard from Conri?" Tala asked.

" He will be here. ’’ I responded noncommittally and then there was a rumbling sound from the mountain, an indication that someone was headed our way.

" What the fuck was that? And don’t tell me it’s thunder " Jerusha stepped forward on high alert.

" We have guests " I spoke up and closed my eyes to listen in.

" They are here " The voice of the mountain god reached my mind.

" How many ?" I pushed the words through the mind link.

" A master, a shifter wolf, and an abomination shifter, plus one hundred shifters, vampires, wolves, and dark serpents"

" How soon will they reach Chugach prison ?"

" Two hours " And he closed the mind link.

" What? So soon?" Commander Abram gritted his teeth.

" They have passed by the first barrier near the beach. They are headed this way and will reach here in two hours. Aipaloovik, Izak, Austin, and an army of one hundred shifters. " I responded.

" Shit " Jerusha cursed. " What about the town? "

" Nothing so far. Maybe they are laying low waiting for a word from Maurice. " I pointed out. My wolf stirred and I felt the presence of Commander Abram. He was carrying someone and Everest was not too far behind. " Commander Abram is back. He got Maurice."

" That is good " Jerusha heaved a sigh of relief.

It took ten minutes and Commander Abram appeared in a flash and on his shoulder was an unconscious Maurice Isla.

" I bet you knocked him down real good" Tala chuckled.

" I did. ’’ He responded and then turned to me and said, " Show me where we need to lock this piece of trash.

I nodded and we walked into the prison and arrived at an empty cell that was opposite Edins. I opened the jail door and Commander Abram dumped Maurice on the floor. Once the jail cell was locked, I turned around and found Judy staring at me with a smirk.

" You have no idea what is coming." she snickered.

" This is my mountain, what makes you think I would not know who is coming ?" I responded with a raised eyebrow.

" You are pretending " She widened her eyes.

" It seems you can sense their presence. I know they will be here in two hours. I wonder if they are prepared to face me" I laughed and my voice boomed in the prison shaking and rattling the jail cell doors.

Judy looked around here and then her eyes landed back to me and asked " What are you ?"

" He is your worst nightmare " Commander Abram responded as we walked out of the prison and stood by the entrance.

" Uncle Cadman, I would like to add a ward to the entrance of the prison. Just in case someone attempts to break in" Lovita spoke up.

" You don’t need to worry. Keep your magic intact for now, you never know what will happen and if we shall need it later on" I responded to him.

" I suggest we separate. You all need to surround the prison and remain in the sets of three. I will remain here with Commander Abram. Hunter, Tala, and Lovita take the north while Jerusha, Everest, and Levy take the south. I will find a way to reach your mind links in case of any danger. " I instructed.

" That sounds like a good plan, " Commander Abram nodded.

Hunter was the first one to move hesitantly and said " Come on," He beckoned Tala and Lovita. " See you later Uncle Cadman."

" Don’t attack aimlessly. I know you plan to take out the army they brought along but don’t underestimate them and don’t get hurt " I scolded him.

" Old man, you are too nosy " Hunter chuckled and I watched them shift and disappear into the woods.

" I am leaving " Everest stated as his hands laced with Levy and Jerusha followed them close behind.

" I have no one to lace my hands with " He teased them and Commander Abram chuckled as they disappeared into the mountains.

" Old man, why do I feel that you sent them away on purpose?" Commander Abram’s nagging voice rose.

" Because I did " I responded noncommittally.

" What is going on ?" He demanded.

" I needed to hand over the mountain powers to someone responsible and formidable" I confessed.

" What the fuck are you talking about ?" Commander Abram’s eyes blazed at me.

" The mountain god had already seen this coming. I don’t have much time. I will make do with you, " I answered.

" I am a hybrid wolf. My hands are laced with blood. Why would you choose me ?" Commander Abram snickered.

" Because Lucian and Conri trust you. And you have a loyal heart" I stated.

" You keep blabbering and talking nonsense " He cursed and rubbed his temples in frustration.

" We make do with what we have " I laughed and watched as a small smile played on his lips.

" I expected you to choose Lucian Freki. " The mountain god’s voice rose in my mind.

" So did I. But this man is protective and has a pure heart " I pushed the words through.

" You are right. He is worthy of being the bearer of the mountain powers and he might change your fate since you have also chosen against fate"

" You keep plotting, " Commander Abram scolded.

" Close your eyes. It’s time to feel the mountain and see its powers’ ’ I responded to him as I pushed my powers to him and felt both his beast rise and accept them. Suddenly our powers merged and we could sense the whole mountain, all the little sounds surrounding it. We watched Aipaloovik and his team coming from the east, Hunter, Tala, and Lovita holding forts from the north, and Everest, Levy, and Jerusha standing guard in the south.

" Wow!" Commander Abram’s voice rose.

Suddenly we sensed a strong power coming from the west sea and then the vision of a large serpent riding the waves became visible. " They are finally here. " I spoke up.
