It was surprisingly sunny when we landed in Chugach and went straight to the Freki mansion. We had not packed clothes for Tochigi and Lucian was fussy and did not wish to wear new clothes.

When we arrived at the Freki mansion Asheral was in awe at the house’s architecture and even more sore at the view of the forest and Chugach Mountain from the backyard.

Anisha arrived later an hour before we left for the airport and was stunned to see Asheral.

" This is my sister, Anisha, " I informed Asheral.

" A Freki? A she-wolf " Asheral seems dazed.

" Yes. " I smiled while Anisha remained silent throughout and when Zeeb arrived to take us to the airport Anisha turned to Asheral and asked " What are you? I am trying to make sense of the power that is bouncing off you. I can tell you are more than a serpent shifter and even more than a shifter at that "

" Your sister is a true she-wolf. Do you have many she-wolves in Chugach?" Asheral asked with piqued interest.

" My mother is a She wolf, " Zeeb announced.

" I see," Ashreral nodded.

" You never answered my question, " Anisha insisted.

" Your nose will not let me off aah?" Asheral laughed. " Take a guess"

" You smell like an ancient god," Anisha smirked.

Asheral neither denied or accepted and Dolf rose in my head and pushed the words through to me and Lucian in our mind link" She is an ancient god. A guardian ancient god "

Our eyes widened and Lucian responded through the mind link " No wonder she knew so much about our past and future"

but when we got to Tochigi we were met by heavy snow. Asheral seemed to enjoy the weather as we listened to the little gasps of pleasure that came from her.

" It’s beautiful right ?" Lucian made conversation with her.

" Yes, " She answered. " I have never seen so much snow. Sitka has rain and dry weather. This is another level of beauty. "

" Tochigi is all snow and you must adjust to the cold temperature" Lucian informed her.

" I am a serpent. We thrive in the cold, "she laughed.

We arrived at Isamu’s villa and the guards rushed to the door to welcome us.

" Nothing can bypass Isamu as long as you are in Tochigi," I laughed.

" What a beautiful villa " Asheral was wowed as we alighted from the car and Isamu walked towards us.

" I must say that when the guard at the airport reported that you landed in Tochigi, I doubted them at first. But when I was sent a photo, I was in disbelief. Welcome to Tochigi " Isamu spoke up and extended his hand to me in greetings.

" So many words for just a set of greetings " I laughed and shook his hand in response.

" It’s good to see you Lucian " He turned to Lucian and extended the same greeting.

" Thank you Isamu," Lucian nodded.

" And pray tell what do we have here ?" Isamu’s eyes widened.

" Asheral Coral, " She responded.

" A dark serpent shifter " Isamu stared at her.

" How did you know?" She gasped.

" The invisible mark on your ear. Each of the dark serpent shifters has them. Come in " Isamu extended his hand in welcome and we followed him into the villa. We found Zineb in the living room rushing to place the tea on the table. She turned around and smiled warmly " Welcome "

" How have you been, Zineb?" Lucian made conversation.

’" As well as I can be " She nodded as we all sat down and her eyes landed on Asheral.

" This is Asheral Coral. A member of the shifter serpent council of Sitka" I informed Zineb.

" It’s a pleasure to meet you. I am Zineb Aria, Isamu’s wife " She responded.

" Pleasure is all mine" Asheral smiled at her. " My Lord Tizheruk sends his greetings. He hopes that he will visit you soon. But now that the prince and princess of Sitka have been born, he cannot leave Sitka as he has to keep My Lady company. "

" What ?" Zineb clapped with happiness" Congratulations to him. "

" You seem fond of my Lord," Asharal observed.

" She is a fan " Isamu chuckled as he sat next to Zineb.

" I am " Zineb nodded and leaned back on the seat as Isamu pulled her close.

" To what do I owe the pleasure of your visit ?" Isamu asked,

" Cut right to the chase ?" Lucian chuckled.

" Yes. " Isamu nodded. " I prefer not to beat around the bush"

" What did I miss "Lobo walked right in with Isamu "

" Nothing much, " Lucian responded.

" I was surprised when the guards reported that you were in Tochigi, ’’ Sayuri smiled.

" This is Lobo, my brother, and his wife Sayuri," Zineb informed Asheral.

" This is Asheral Coral, a member of the Sitka council. "

" You are a serpent shifter ?" Sayuri observed.

" Yes. " Asheral nodded and then grinned " Is there a pregnancy wave in Tochigi? "

Sayuri and Zineb both laughed while Lobo rubbed the back of his neck and Isamu remained unfazed.

" We are here because we need the Yari spear," I informed Isamu.

" Why ?" Both Isamu and Sayuri demanded it.

" When you left Chugach we ran into trouble. Lorraine was not alone in the mountains. She was with Maurice Isla"

" What the fuck? " Both Lobo and Zineb cursed.

" You know Maurice Isla? " I demanded.

" Yes. " Lobo nodded. " A psycho to the core. He is the firstborn of the Isla’s, then Ralph, and then Lorainne. But Maurice has been weird since he was born. He did not share the same mother as Ralph and Lorraine. Word was that his mother gave him up his life for him. Since then Maurice Isolated himself as he grew up. Pa always snickered at Maurice and said he was born dark. I had no idea what he meant but the pack was unforgiving about his nature and chased him away. Ralph was always bitter because he felt that the Golden Shifter pack had been unfair to Maurice and Lorraine. "

" So this is the dark serpent shifter?" Asheral asked.

" Yes. " I nodded. " He made a call to Keith Isla and said he was coming for us. He must have found Lorraine’s body. "

" How did my Lord get soft? He might have forgiven you but I will not " Asheral raised her chin defiantly.

" What is a dark serpent shifter? " Sayuri’s voice rose.

" They are shifters born when a serpent shifter gave life to their dying son to save him by merging his shifter with his son’s shifter" Asheral explained.

" What? Can it be done? " Sayuri asked.

" I am a dark serpent shifter " Asheral announced.

Lobo’s eyes widened as he stared at her and then his eyes focused directly to her ear. " So that was it. I saw it on Maurice once but Aria my wolf never knew what it was "

" This is the mark of the dark serpent shifters" Asheral announced.

" So to kill Maurice you need the spear?" Isamu asked.

" Yes, and the spear needs to go back to the sea. It does belong to the people of the land. " Asheral emphasized.

" It was my uncle Kaka who found the spear. " Sayuri spoke up.

" May I? Asheral asked Sayuri as she extended her hand to her.

Sayuri nodded and placed her hand in Asheral. In an instant Asheral eyes turned silver laced with a blue glow. After a minute she patted Sayuri’s hand and said " He was a seer, though born a vampire but his mother was a witch. He gained the third eye and lost it when he touched Tabular and even died when Tabular took over his body. I know what happened in the pearl farm. But what is important is that he rescued Yari"

" You speak as if Yari is a person" Sayuri looked confused.

"Bring the spear to me " Asheral turned to Isamu.

Isamu nodded stood up and left the living room. Zineb chose to serve tea as we waited for Isamu to return. Twenty minutes later, Isamu arrived in the living room carrying a large spear that looked exactly like Meglado. He handed the spear to Asheral who stood up and took it in her hands. She then pushed her power into the spear and in seconds the spear shifted into a human being. His eyes opened and he was a spitting image of a younger Tizheruk.

Asheral took the coat she was wearing and covered the man’s body, his eyes snapped open and landed on Asheral. She smiled warmly at him and the man bowed.

" Yari Makun pays respect to the ancient one, Asheral Coral." His voice was low but the deepness vibrated across the room.
