We arrived at the villa and found Elder Zaya and Mrs. Hemming pacing around in the living room.

" What is the matter?" I demanded their eyes widened and they stared at Asheral who stood behind me waiting.

" Haid has gone back to the nest," Elder Zaya announced.

My body was on high alert as I pushed our mating bond and felt the panic in her mind.

" Take me with you, " Asheral pleaded.

I nodded as we rushed to the villa exit by the sea and dove into the water. I was surprised when Asheral shifted into a black serpent but I was too concerned with Haida that I chose to ask her about it later.

We arrived at the next barrier and the notable view of the missing Ricin herb was evident. I pushed my power and the barrier gave way and we swam right in. By the time we landed on the pearl, I never looked back as I moved forward and when I got there Haida was in tears as the eggs hatched.

" Bering, the eggs are hatching " She yelled, and then her eyes widened as she spotted Asheral standing behind me.

" Calm down. Let me introduce you. This is Asheral coral. She is a member of the Sitka Council. And this is Haida, my mate"

" Greetings my Lady" Asheral bowed and Haida just nodded and bit her lips.

" I have no idea what to do in Bering. I felt the power of the eggs rattle my body and I rushed over. The eggs already had their first crack and I was not here. " Haida wailed.

" We need two blankets to wrap them once the two babies hatch" Ashela supplied.

" Blankets? " I nodded, rushed to the room, and returned with two warm blankets.

" Once they hatch, you need to keep them warm for twenty-four hours and sleep next to them so that they can take the shape of the human form. They would only do so next to their mother. " Asheral added.

" Okay " Haida nodded as Asheral took the blankets from me and placed them on the table next to the eggs. She then pulled a chair and made Haida sit on it." I need another blanket to cover her, point me in the direction and I will get it" Asheral stated.

" I will get it for you" And I left the room and came back with another large blanket. I covered Haida with it and she smiled up at me.

"Thank you Bering ’’ Her response was hushed and her lip trembled.

" Point me to the kitchen, my lord. I need to make food for her Lady" Asheral spoke up.

I showed her the kitchen and went back to Haida, pulled another chair, and sat down with her. I took her hand in mine and rubbed them in assurance" Haida, all will be well. "

Her eyes were laced with tears and she responded " I know. I am just overwhelmed with emotions. Sorry I panicked and rushed here without calling you"

I was held up in the Sitka council meeting at Alexander’s mansion. We selected a new council and Elder Cynthia was introducing me to them" I informed her.

" Bering, I am not a child that can cover up information when there is trouble. But I respect you and will wait for you to tell me when you are ready. I know for a fact that you are worried. "

" Trouble is still lurking but I want first to ensure that you and the babies are okay " I beamed and Haida blushed.

"Asherah you said? She seems kind, " Haida said.

"Elder Kama is her daughter," I informed Haida.

" What? Really? Then Asheral must be quite old" Haida noted.

"Did you notice the Ricin poison is missing from the water bed?"

"No. I was so reckless that I rushed over without a care. If you had walked in five minutes earlier I would have been embarrassed because I was stark naked " I chuckled.

" You forget what I taught you. As my mate I already extended the power of shifting to you, " I scolded Haida.

She chuckled and the tension in her easened. " How did Asheral shift?"

" She is no ordinary serpent. But I would rather she told us how she was able to instead of speculating. " I answered. " Though I have some news for you. Good news. " I pulled my shirt off and Haida gasped as he saw the tattoo of the spear in my hand.

" What the fuck is that ?" Haida gasped

" Meglado. This is the sea god’s spear" I explained.

" I don’t understand " Haida’s eyes widened and then I commanded Meglado to show himself using my powers and then my hand glowed and next to Haida and me a floating spear appeared.

" Wow," Haida gasped.

" Meglado, this is my mate Haida."

" Greetings my Lady. A sea wolf is a betting mate for the serpent sea god. " A voice came out of the spear as Meglado responded.

" It’s a pleasure Meglado" Haida was still reeling in shock.

" My Lord, you are blessed. One is a male and the other female" Meglado announced.

" Why do you have to be a loudmouth " Asheral voice rose from the door. " You should have let nature take its cause" She scolded Meglado.

" I was too excited," Meglado stated before it vanished into my hand.

" Hiding away " Asheral tsked and went back to the kitchen.

An hour later, the eggs hadn’t hatched as yet and Asheral placed food on the stable. Haida must have been famished as she gobbled down the food and hummed in appreciation as she enjoyed the food.

" This is so delicious" Haida praised Asheral who chuckled and responded " You sound like my daughter Kama. "

" The food is indeed delicious, " I added.

"Thank you, My Lord. " She beamed and we continued to eat as we made small conversations. Asheral cleared the table and I could hear her as she washed the dishes. She then appeared at the doorway, half an hour later and said " Take Haida to bed, When the eggs hatch, she will have less time to sleep and rest"

" Come on" I encouraged Haida.

"Are you sure ?" Haida asked Asheral but a loud yawn came after from Haida.

" Yes" Asheral laughed " Leave Meglado with me"

" Come on " I commande Meglado.

He appeared and then muttered under his breath making Haida giggle as I walked with her to the bedroom. Haida slept immediately and her head hit the pillow. I knew she must be up, sensing my worries the night before, waiting for me. I was regretful that I chose to deal with my worries instead of sharing them with her.

" Don’t do it again Bering" Haida murmured in her sleep and I knew I must have projected my thoughts.

" I promise" I pulled her close and we cuddled to sleep.

It was three hours later when Meglado’s voice jolted me from my sleep " My Lord"

I slowly got out of bed, carefully not to awaken Haida. I rushed out of the bedroom and found Asheral holding two blankets. My feet weakened and Meglado rushed over and I held on to the spear as it offered me strength.

" Congratulations My Lord, the princess and prince of the serpent shifter clan have been hatched" Meglado stated as Asheral walked over she pulled the blankets off and two small serpents lay in the blanket. One was green in color and the other hand Hiada’s brown color of her seahorse. Their little eyes were green and my mind felt so overwhelmed as I stared down at them.

"Congratulations my Lord. " Asheral spoke.

I felt tears roll down my cheeks and I hiccuped to bite back a sob " Thank you" I nodded.

" We need to get these to their mother," Asheral said.

I could only nod as I walked ahead and showed Asheral our bedroom where Haida slept. I slowly woke her up and her eyes widened. She spotted Asheral carrying two blankets. Her eyes watered as she sat on the bed and then Asheral approached.

" My Lady, congratulations " Asheral stated as she slowly lowered the two blankets on the bed. I pulled the blankets slightly open and Haida gasped. She stared at the two small serpents and she burst out in tears.

" This is a happy occasion, " Meglado whispered.

" These are happy tears " Asheral stated.

I felt a stir in my head and Dolf spoke up " What the fuck is going on Tizheruk, I can feel your emotions. Are you crying ?"

I wiped Haida’s tears response through the mind link and informed Dolf " The eggs hatched. A serpent prince and princess. I am blessed. "

" Congratulations. I am happy for you. Give my regards to Haida " And the mind link closed.

" Was that Dolf ?"Haida asked while Meglado seemed to be shocked.

" Yes " I nodded and asked Haida" You could hear his voice?"

Haida only nodded as she settled on the bed and pulled the blankets next to her as Asheral arranged them.

" You have a bond with the King of Wolves? I could hear his voice loud and clear " Meglado finally found his voice.

"Yes," I summoned Meglado back before he could ask more questions.

" I am going to rest. Keep warm. I will come check on you in the morning " Asheral stated as we watched her back disappear and the door close behind her.

" Thank you, Bering. I am so happy " Haida whispered.

" Me too" I pressed a kiss on her temple and lay down next to her as happiness washed over us. We were now parents and the feeling was overwhelmingly good as I watched Haida sleep and I kept guard, my body so anxious that sleep eluded me.
