TIZHERUK’S POV

Conri’s information made me angry and I could feel the way my beast roared at the defiance committed by the members of Serpent shifters. I spent hours in Governor Alexander Mansion library just mulling over everything. I knew it was not the right way but I needed some peace of my own. Hours later, I called Haida to inform her we were working late and sat down on the couch and tried to catch sleep. I knew that the minute I stepped foot in the villa, she would sense my fury.

Sleep eluded me as I tossed and turned on the couch. I slid out of bed and walked to the beach to listen to the mother sea and calm my body. The visions of Haida were the ones that calmed my body. By the time I approached the rocks on the beach, I was already deep in the water. Step by step I walked into the cold sea until my body was fully submerged as it welcomed me. All the tension in my body disappeared and I went underwater. By the time I walked out of the sea, dawn had set in. I walked out of the sea and I prayed to Mother Sea that everything would get better.

I walked back to the mansion and found Charry had arrived with a change of clothes.

" My Lord " She bowed. " Haida sent me over. "

" I don’t want to worry her, ’’ I murmured. " Summon the Sitka council urgently. I will be ready in one hour"

" Yes, My Lord " Charry responded and left.

Walking to the office an hour later. I found Elder Cynthia, Alexander, Charry, and the new Elders Kama, Mika, and Brem seated at the office and they were waiting for me.

" Greetings my Lord " They stood up in greeting.

" Have a seat " I commanded them.

Elder Cynthia took over and briefed us on the matters they had been handled. Once done, I announced "There is something I wish to bring you up to speed on," I stated.

They looked at me, waiting. "I trust that you will not reveal this to anyone, not even your spouses," I continued and saw Elder Cynthia’s eyes widen.

"There have been too many deaths going around. Peace has been threatened for the past century and I barely survived. Let me emphasize that peace is paramount. War is not an option. When we went to the Northern border, I was poisoned. "

They all gasped and their faces were filled with shock.

" Ricin poison to be exact. But I was already prepared for it and my inner beast healed me and Conri Dolf pushed the power of the king of wolves into me. Within six hours, the poison was detoxified. I worry because who would know about Ricin apart from shifter serpents? Who would know my weakness and sell it out to rogue shifters? " I seethed.

" My Lord, " Cynthia interjected.

I have no idea why the old council members took our shifters there but I know that there is a madman on the loose. He is a threat to us and even our family in Chugach. Hence I called you here to inform you of the same. But I would like to hear from you about this matter" I ended the narration.

" My lord, my name is Elder Kama. Honestly, my grandmother is a dark serpent shifter. But she is not evil and has been in Siktak for a long time. Can I invite her over so that she can advise? " Elder Kama smiled warmly at me.

My beast pushed its power into her and there was no evil bone in her body. She smiled at me knowing well what I had done.

" I assure you My Lord, dark serpent shifters are not bad." She insisted.

" Send someone to summon her, " I nodded.

" She is already here. I have no idea why she followed me today but she insisted on meeting you" Elder Kama huffed.

Charry stood up and walked out of the office leaving the door open and then came back with an old woman, who looked exactly like Elder Kama. The only difference was the white hair that covered her head and the wrinkles on her hands. She wore a lilac gown and carried what looked like a turquoise spear. I felt my beast roar at the sight of the spear, the familiarity of it, and the way it called to me. A mysterious glint sparkled in her eyes as she walked over to stand in front of me.

"Asheral Coral greets you, My Lord," she smiled and bowed.

" Rise " I commanded her and my eyes turned to the spear.

" I am here for three things. One is to return the sea god’s spear" She announced and then she handed it over to me.

The minute the silver touched my arm, it glowed golden and spoke up " Serpent Sea God your servant Meglado greets you." And then the spear pushed the memories of the previous serpent sea gods into my mind.

I was rendered speechless for a minute but quickly recovered and then responded "It’s good to have you back in my hands" Then the spear magic glowed again and merged into my hand and a tattoo of it appeared on my arm. I was amazed at the power it evoked on my serpent beast and I felt the power of the sea gods rake through me.

Asheral Coral beamed and said, " My duty to the sea god has been fulfilled."

" What is the second thing ?" I asked.

" The dark serpent shifters have served the previous sea gods. We were loyal and faithful and knew that day would come. Our birth came from a serpent shifter whose wife died giving birth and not wanting to lose the baby, he gave his serpent to his son and saved him. The previous sea gods and serpent shifter councils knew about our race. We coexisted peacefully but as you know not everyone wants peace. Hence today, I would request you to fulfill the promise of the sea gods. We guard the spear until after the death of the sea god until the next one is fit and ready to wield the spear. My daughter Kama is the leader of the dark serpent shifters and your faith in her shows that you chose right" She spoke with confidence and humility.

Asheral Coral clapped her hand and moved to embrace me " Thank you, child. You have done well"

Your bond with the King of Wolves is meant to protect shifters of all kinds from harm. " Mhh" I nodded.

" The threat you currently face is difficult. The dark serpent shifter is crude. None of the shifters can handle him and only Megldado and Adora can kill him. He has merged several serpent shifters with himself. I felt your distress through Megladon last night in the sea, felt your worry for the shifters and your mate Haida. Your eggs are about to hatch and yet we face a threat. Our queen is not weak. Hence I urge you to face this opponent head-on and lessen your worries. This way we can ease the fact that he will use poison on you as a way to attack you" Asheral announced.

" Thank you Asheral" I smiled at her.

" My work here is done" She nodded and was about to leave when I interjected " Do you want to meet Haida, my mate?"

" Yes," She spoke out too loudly, making me laugh.

" Accompany me back to the villa. " I politely instructed her.

" That would be great, " She nodded.

" I will leave the rest of you to discuss a plan on how to handle Maurice Isla. I would also like to know how he became a serpent shifter after being born a wolf shifter. " I stated. " See you later. "

They all bid me farewell as I left for the Villa and I was less worried than I was when I first received the news from Conri.
