LOBO ARIA’S POV

After dinner, we settled at the bar as we celebrated and drank merrily. Much to our surprise Hunter and Tala appeared half an hour later.

" Did we miss out on anything? " Tala asked as she walked over to embrace Ma.

" Not really " I spoke up.

" You well?" Hunter walked over and sat next to Lobo.

" As well as I can be " I nodded at him.

" When do you leave ?" Hunter made conversation as I handed him a bottle of beer that I had opened just for him

" Are you ready to chase me away ?" I teased him.

" Correct. I need you as far as away from Chugach, " Hunter teased.

" I never thought you would ever talk to me. I know what I did in the past has no excuse and seeing you here, I am grateful" I confessed as I raised my bottle to him.

He smirked and raised his bottle clinked it with me and said " You have gotten soft Lobo Aria"

" Cut the crap. My ego is at its limit and I want to make peace because Sayuri likes Chugach as she loves the mountain view and wants to come here for a holiday. " I explained.

" You finally have a family, ’’ Hunter observed and placed a hand on my arm.

" Yes. After so long, I got myself a family. Father was a bastard but I am glad we got to reunite. I am also lucky that Aurora is back in Chugach. She has made us reunite and I have a feeling she will keep us in check " I chuckled.

" What about those two ?" Hunter pointed at Seth and Steve.

" They will be under Isamu and protect Zineb. They will be of use to Isamu and they agreed. Zineb is happy to go with them and they will be the ones in charge of the pearl export business between Chugach and Tochigi" I informed Hunter.

" Good good. I love how everything has turned out. I know that It has been a long journey and though I had been annoyed at you for years, you came just in time and saved us. Everyone has made peace with you and the past is just the past" Hunter stated

"Mmhh ’’ I nodded and shipped my bear.

The door of the bar opened and Conri Dolf and Lucian Freki walked into the room. Everyone stood up and I followed suit as I felt the power of Conri Dolf. His eyes went around the room as everyone spoke up " Greetings Alpha Conri"

" Foregore the formalities. " Conri smiled and his eyes landed on me and Hunter. He walked over as Lucian went to Aurora and Zineb and Sayuri rushed over. I watched as Tharn also joined them while Lovita, Toten, Cyrus, and Isamu snickered.

When he reached the spot where we stood with Hunter, Conri asked " Can I join you?"

" Yes, Alpha Conri ’’ Hunter nodded and we all sat down. " I was not aware that you were back in Chugach.

" I arrived last night," Conri stated.

" Great. Will you have a beer or whiskey ?" Hunter politely asked Conri.

" A beer will do " Conri responded and then Hunter handed him a bottle.

We remained silent until Conri asked ’ When are you leaving?"

" Tomorrow morning. " I responded. " The jet is ready and we shall be headed home at nine am. "

Conri looked around the room and then smiled " You gained something by coming to Chugach. I can see the faces of your family filled with happiness and contentment. This is what I want Chugach to be like "

I only nodded and my eyes went round the room and in the process landed on Sayuri she winked at me making me chuckle and I lifted the bottle of beer and shipped from it.

" The twins are going with you ?" Conri asked.

" Yes. " I had only one word to answer.

" Do you find it hard to converse with me ?" Conri asked and there was an amused look on his face.

My mouth dropped open and Hunter could only add in a teasing note " He is shocked that you want to converse with him. "

" That is not it " I rubbed the back of my neck. " I have no idea what to say to you "

" What are your plans?" Conri asked.

" I will be in Tochigi for a while. When the pups are born and maybe two years come back for the holiday since Sayuri seems to have fallen in love with the Chugach mountains. " I stated.

" Aurora seems to love her. I can tell by the way she is fawning over her " Conri observed.

" Yes of course. Sayuri is a born vampire but her powers of healing are awesome. Aurora must have identified her sweet and calm nature. " I added.

" This makes you the head of the Aria family. " Conri pointed out.

" Yes," I nodded and sipped the beer.

" Their destiny will lie solely in your leadership. Don’t make the same mistake as your father. You don’t need power and after all these the moon gods were kind and now you have a large family. Plus Luke is your nephew. We shall raise him but I want him to know that Uncle Lobo is a trustworthy man. " Conri stated.

I felt a pang of hurt in my heart and looked away. I leaned back on the chair and I guessed Isamu must have realized the seriousness of the conversation as he walked over with Lovita, pulled chairs, and sat down.

" I am surprised to see you and Lucian here, " Isamu smiled.

" I wanted to come and have a word with Lobo. " Conri nodded.

" You are all looking so serious, what is happening? " Isamu asked.

" Nothing. Just Alpha Conri stating the obvious. " Hunter deflected.

" Great. Lobo is a great man. I am proud to call him brother and he has taught me what family is. " Isamu pressed on.

" Relax," Conri laughed. " I understand that you are protective of your brother. I have no ill motives or anger towards Lobo. I am more concerned about the Aria lineage. Should we carry the package of the past? Lovita is my Betta while Aurora sits in the KODA council. Toten and Tharn work for Due Corporation and they will be in charge of the pearl export. These are also members of the Golden shifter pack and the Moresore family. And lastly, Luke Aria, our adoptive son with Lucian is your nephew. The connection between is vast and hence I just want to advocate for family and peace"

His statement took Isamu off guard and he cleared his throat before responding " You have rendered me speechless Alpha Conri. "

" That is not my intention." Conri’s face remained passive and we watched as Lucian walked over and placed himself in my Conri’s lap.

" Husband, why do you look so serious ?" Lucian smirked his chest and the serious look of Conri Dolf disappeared and was replaced with adoration and love as he stared at Lucian.

" Not really? Are you enjoying yourself?" Conri deflected.

" I Know you are deflecting but am glad since all the seriousness around the table is gone. Don’t cause trouble, we are here to celebrate ’’ He scolded Conri and we all ended up laughing and the tension in the table was broken.

Conri’s words rang true and remained embedded in my mind.

" Did you find out who sold the shifter serpents to Loraine? " Lovita asked Conri.

" Tizheruk called and informed me he had already dealt with the traitors who sold the shifters to Lorraine. The pearl farm is safe since Haida already planted the pearls from the sea gods’ pearl nest. I believe that Tizheruk will protect the sea and we must protect the land" Conri answered.

" Safety is all we need " Hunter slurred and Lobo chuckled " You have always been a lightweight why are you drinking so much"

" It’s celebration time. Party till we drop" Hunter stated and called the waiter to fill the table with drinks. Hours later we left the hotel bar I staggered to the room with Sayuri scolding me that we had drunk so much alcohol.

" Hunter created a dare and we had no choice" my voice slurred.

" I was surprised to see Isamu drunk and Alpha Conri too. " Sayuri pointed at me as I rolled on the bed and grinned at her.

" He was concerned about the Aria lineage. He does not want the pups you will bear to be affected by the past " I responded.

" He is right. ’’ Sayuri’s face changed into a serious one. " Family is important and now that we have a large family, I don’t want any conflicts to follow our pups. I am not sure if they will be born as hybrids or a vampire. "

" It does not matter, Sayuri. I will love and protect them all the same " I thumped my chest to emphasize it.

" You are being too sweet "She leaned down and we kissed passionately.

" I love you so much, my sweet mate and wife. " I whispered to her. " I want us to have a wedding when we get back to Tochigi. "

" Really?" Sayuri beamed.

" I promise to make you happy for the rest of our lives"
