TIZHERUK’S POV

I held Haida in my arms as she fell asleep in my arms after Lucian gave her blood. I could also feel Conri’s worries projected through Dolf. Haida had a close call and I knew that I would go berserk if she ever got hurt. An hour later, I was still restless and Haida stirred in my arms and murmured groggily " You are thinking too loud "

"Are you feeling better ?" I whispered.

" Yes." She murmured back.

I lifted her chin with one finger and forced her to look at me. Haida’s eyes were hazy and her lips parted slightly while her nose flared. "What happened?"

" I knew you would not let it go. Isamu set traps at the barrier’s nest. I thought that we had cleared them all but we missed one. Chary’s whirlpool saved our lives but some of the Ricin poison got out. I was going to tell you privately but it seems that nothing can get past you and Conri. At first, I was irritated by the bond and connection that you have. But today, I am thankful, Bering. "

" Do you know how crazy and berserk I would go if you ever got hurt? The sea would be raging because of my emotions and I am unsure if you would all survive. The day that I hurt my Isamu, I slithered my way into the mountains. The reason was that my serpent went crazy and the sea raged with it "

"I heard tales that there were Tsunami years back. Was this your fault ?" Haida’s eyes widened.

" If the sea rages, lots of people would die. Both the shifters and humans" I explained. " All I want is to lay low and we all will be at peace. "

" What is the time?" Haida asked.

"Midnight " I responded.

" Bering, I want to go back to the nest in Sitka. I can explain why but I am drawn to it. " Haida whispered.

" Now?" I stared at her in wonder.

"Yes. If we left now, we would be in the nest by dawn" Haida’s eyes pleaded.

" You are crazy "I muttered but got out of bed and pulled her out of the bed with me.

" You have not objected to the idea?" She beamed happily and then pulled me down for a deep passionate kiss.

We left the Freki mansion twenty minutes later but not before Conri came down as we were explaining to Kaito who stood guard by the back of the house.

" Why are you awake ?" I shot the question to Conri.

" Do you think you can leave without notifying me?" Conri responded.

"Come on " I huffed.

"What is going on? ’’ He walked down the patient and stood staring at me.

" Bering and I are going to the nest" Haida stepped forward defensively.

" I can tell the poison in your body is neutralized " Conri raised his chin.

" We need to go to the nest," I emphasized.

" Okay," Conri nodded. " What is the reason that you need to sneak out of the Mansion in the middle of the night and go to Sitka?"

Haida and I remained silent and Conri could only huff and turn around. He walked back to the mansion and not before he uttered "You better be careful and don’t get hurt "

I heaved a sigh of relief and Kaito chuckled " The two of you are so similar " He pointed at Conri and me.

" What time are you leaving ?"I asked Kaito.

" The jet will leave at noon. Elder Zaya wanted to have lunch before she left." Kaito explained.

" Tell her I will come to Canada soon. I had something urgent to do" I responded

" Tell Chary to lay low and heal. I will be back for her," Haida requested Kaito.

" I will convey all your messages, " Kaito nodded.

We left the Freki mansion and walked deep into the woods. An hour into the night, we got to the edge of the sea by the Freki Forest. I pulled Haida in my arms and shifted. She was surprised when we both ended up naked and in the water.

" How are you able to do this ?" She sends the message through the mind link.

" I have no idea. It’s my power. Now that we are mated, I can project it into you" I responded through the mind link.

" Conri can do this. Did you teach him ?" Haida asked

" I gave him the powers as a thank you for saving my life," I informed her.

We swam through the sea and at dawn we were in the Sitka canal when I noticed there was something foreign in the water. I turned to Haida and signaled her to come closer to me. Using Tizheruk’s power of the sea, I pushed the water to hide us and it involved us like an invisible cloak.

In a few minutes, I watched a submarine cruise by. My body stiffened in shock with the realization that they had come from the direction of the barrier.

" Is that a submarine? "Haida’s shocked voice rose in our mind link.

" So that is how they access the barrier " I cursed. " It seems that Isamu was well prepared. "

" They set the Ricin bombs just in case you appeared. The sensor would have been triggered if I appeared because of the force of the waves pushed by the serpent beast. Hence they would have exploded and the Ricin poison mixed with the water would seep into my scales."

" Thank God we got to the barrier before you. Our beasts are smaller than yours and hence they were not powerful enough to be a trigger" Haida pointed out.

We remained hidden for half an hour and then moved to the barrier that was in between the nest and the sea bed, approaching it slowly and carefully. The barrier must have sensed my presence and the whole sea bed lit up.

" Bering, let me check it fast. I am smaller and sweeter" Haida requested

" Go ahead and be careful "

Haida swam swiftly to the barrier and then I watched her from a distance as she checked the barrier from one end to the other. She then turned around and pushed the words through " It’s safe for now. They must have been here to check on what happened to the Ricin bombs. They will be back"

" It’s expected, " I responded.

I approached the barrier and pushed my powers through and it opened up. We swam through it and Haida’s excitement was evident as we swam deeper into the sea. Half an hour later we arrived at the next. Haida’s gasp reached my mind as she stared at the large Pear Shell, the size of a mansion, that was glowing in the middle of the ocean.

I swam close to the shell and it opened up " You are home sea serpent god"

" It’s been a long time" I responded.

" How is it that I can hear this?" Haida pushed the words through the mind link.

" Who is this ?" The shell asked.

" Mate" I responded as I shifted and got on the shell. I raised my hand at her and Haida swam close to me and the minute my hand made contact with her sea beast, she shifted back to human form.

We stood naked staring at each other as I laced her hand with mine as we walked deeper into the shell and Haida blushed. The shell closed itself as its magic glowed. The truth about the sea serpent’s nest was that it was a whole home. Well furnished and built under the sea by the previous sea gods.

" Is this for real ?" Haida chuckled.

"Yes. This is our home " I smiled at her. " The next of the sea serpent gods and now this will be our home for a lifetime. If you lay eggs, you will do it here and incubate until they hatch.

"Forget I ever told you about that. I can feel the power of the pearl radiating through me, Bering. " Haida whispered.

" The previous powers of the sea gods lie here. When I was hurt, I could not access it and had to hide in the Chugach mountain. It was Conri’s powers that saved me" I confessed to Hiada. " That is why we have a connection"

" I was just being a brat, " Haida blushed even more. The blush rose from her chest to her neck. "Why don’t we have clothes on?"

" Are you cold ?" I teased her as we walked through the doors and into the lush room that was filled with fluffy carpets, pillows, and gold ornaments. I pulled Haida down to the pillows and embraced her.

" This feels nice," Haida moaned as she rubbed her body on mine.

" It does " I pulled her chin and her green eyes clashed with mine.

" I can feel the power of the sea buzzing in your body. " Haida bit her lip and closed her eyes.

" The next recharges my powers" I whispered and licked her lower lip. The action forced her eyes open and she moaned.

" Recharge Bering. Recharge and ensure that they pay for the fact they tried to mess with you " Haida seethed and I dove into her mouth for a passionate kiss that evoked a moan from both of us.
