BORIS CARTER’S POV

I cursed as the results of the voting for the pack Alpha came out. Luna was maintained as the pack Alpha. Kieth growled in frustration as we walked out of the Golden Pack office hall.

Thinking back, I was grateful to be back home. We had been pushed into the Yakuza prison and heartless Isamu had sent a doctor to treat Keith. Funny enough, the prison was a home, where we had everything that we needed.

Once a week Isamu visited us to just stare at us and it was terrifying to even be in his presence. Keith healed quickly and got back on his feet while I felt drained and lost hope of ever getting out of the yakuza prison.

What surprised me was the private visit from Lobo Aria. Keith and I were so happy to see him but noted the different demeanor in Lobo Aria.

" I would like to know how much information you have given Isamu," Lobo demanded.

" We are not fools. " Keith retorted at him and we watched as Lobo smirked.

" You might not be a fool but Isamu is not your average kind of person. He is the Yakuza leader and even more sore a Hybrid wolf. He is a hunter by nature and I watched him kill your son Jaxton. " Lobo announced.

I staggered back in shock and then my legs gave way as I dropped to the ground " What did you say ?"

" You never told me that you gathered evidence against me?" Lobo walked to sit by the chair in the corner of the room.

My mind raced to the basement of my house where I kept the evidence, stolen gold and money. For Lobo to be this arrogant it seems that he found them.

"I should have all these documents with me than anyone else in the pack" I defended myself.

" What about the stolen gold? " Lobo raised an eyebrow.

" I have no excuse Alpha " I muttered.

" Finally, Lobo chuckled. " You stopped defending yourself. I am leaving for Siktu and once done Isamu will release you. Your flights are already booked and when you go back to Alaska, I advise you to find a way to push Luna Elijah out of the pack office. You take over the pack as the alpha. This will make it easy for me to capture Lucian and get Conri "

" It will be hard to get Luna out," Keith said thoughtfully.

" Just find a weakness that could oust her out. I still have enforcers who are loyal to me. " Lobo announced.

" I can feel that the energy of your body is different Alpha " Keith stated

" I have the Tabular crystal," Lobo said arrogantly.

Keith and I gasped in surprise and we were elated that Lobo had succeeded.

" I have more bad news, " Lobo stood up.

" What ?" I stared at Lobo who seemed uncomfortable in my presence for the first time.

" Your wife Ember Gonzalo is dead. When I went to your home, she had already called Lucian and spilled our plans. The mangy wolves attacked her and she died in the hospital"

I stared at Lobo in anger and annoyance. I felt Keith place a hand on my shoulder and I turned away from Lobo. I walked to the chair and sat down feeling pain and anguish. Lobo Aria killed my beloved Ember Gonzalo and he was showing no remorse for it.

" I am leaving, " Lobo announced as he walked out of the door. Once he left, the tears came rushing and the sobs wrecked my body. I had failed my son and wife by siding with Lobo and working on his schemes.

And now we were back in Alaska because Lobo sent his spies to follow us all the way. We were being followed all through since we landed in Alaska. Hence Keith and I dedicated ourselves to playing along until we found a way out and made Lobo think we were still loyal to him.

" That fucking Zoya Dolf. Why can’t she just let us be" Keith muttered under gritted teeth.

" I heard that " Zaya’s voice rose behind us, halting our steps at the door.

I turned around and raised an eyebrow at Zaya who stood with Eliana Due. " Do you need something ?"

" No. But just to let you know, I will have my men watch your every move " Elder Zaya stated.

" Do what you must, " I retorted.

" It’s necessary or else you will follow your wife and son to the grave " Eliana spoke up.

" They are just scaring you, " Keith snickered.

" Are we ?" Levy stepped forward and Everest, Lucian, Hunter, Tala, Anisha, and Zeeb.

" Mind your own business " Keith retorted.

" We would like to. But Lobo Aria and Isamu will not let us. I know they released you so that you can come here and cause trouble while they plan to capture Lucian. But be warned, I have been merciful because of the relationship you both have with Lucian and Levy. If anything else happens, I will not hold back. I already lost everything and I have nothing to lose" Eliana Due spoke up.

" I am not scared of your Eliana" I seethed at her.

" Are you sure? " Eliane stepped forward " Fridolf must have gotten help when Duciana died. How did she get the Napella drugs and how did she come up with the idea of kidnapping Lucian? I doubt Lyal was the mastermind alone " Eliana growled as her eyes darted between Keith and Boris.

" I have no idea what you are talking about, " Keith stuttered.

" Really? I promise you Duciana’s death will not be in vain as long as I breathe " Eliana raised her chin at Boris.

My eyes widened as he remained rooted on the spot looking scared.

" Uncle, I can offer you protection and a way out, " Lucian said.

" You are my brother. If push comes to shove, family comes first. I am willing to protect you as long as you don’t work for Lobo Aria" Levy addressed Keith.

" We need to go," Keith said and dragged me out of the pack offices. Once we got into the car and left the office I heaved a sigh of frustration.

" You do know that Lucian can protect us " Keith stated.

" Then why did we leave ?" I demanded.

" Lobo’s spy was watching us. There was no way we could have stayed there any longer, " Keith stated.

" Fuck. I have lost too much " I growled.

" And I was given a raw deal. Eliana Due is bound to come after me " Keith muttered.

"What about Lucian’s offer ?" I whispered. He is still my nephew"

" That sounded so tempting. But I hate being labeled a traitor. " Keith announced.

" The golden shifter pack has accepted Hunter. Yet he betrayed Lobo Aria. From the looks of it, Eliana Due did not get his family from Sitka alone. " I pointed out. "It seems they all went out"

" We need to go to the KODA council and check on Lyal Aria" Keith cursed.

" Let us play along as much as possible, " I whispered.

"I need to find a way to speak to Levy. How about once we are done at the KODA council offices, we go to Pa’s house. I will find a way to get Levy to come over" Keith stated.

" Sounds like a good plan. I wonder where the Gold and money I had hidden is " I whispered.

" Only one way to find out. We shall pretend to ask Lyal. Make him tell us where it is ’ Keith nodded.

" And once we get it, we shall leave Alaska for good to a place where Lobo Aria will never find us," I growled.

Twenty minutes later, we entered the KODA council offices and found the guards all looking defiant when they spotted us.

" We are here to visit Lyal Aria " I announced.

" He is not getting any visitors " One of the guards responded.

" Call the pack Alpha and tell her that we want to visit Lyal " Keith growled at the guard.

It took close to an hour and Everest and Levy were the ones who arrived at the KODA council and let us visit Lyal. Much to our surprise Lyal was enjoying a bowl of fruits when we found him at the KODA jail and he smiled happily in greeting" Boris and Keith, how have you been? I hope that the Japanese weather was not too harsh"

" It seems you are well informed. " Keith pointed out.

"Nothing gets past my ears. And you already lost round one of your tasks. He will not be happy, " Lyal snickered.

" My family is dead, do I look happy to you ?" I growled at Lyal and walked out of the prison leaving Keith behind.

I found Levy and Everest by the door. " Are you done ?" Everest demanded.

" Yes," I responded and was about to leave when Keith appeared.

" We need to talk. Pa’s house tonight" He whispered to Levy before the guards appeared.

" Come on let’s go" I raised my voice to distract them. " I hate being in jail cells’’

The minute we got in the car, Keith burst out laughing and patted my shoulders " You do catch on fast. Thank you, Boris.

" Most welcome. We have been through so much. We need to stick together from now on. "
