" Forget what you heard here. For now, go to the pack officers and meet with the enforcers. I will clear up the matter of Sikta with Tizheruk and Haida " Conri growled and we all felt his alpha power wash over us.

" I am not leaving " Lucian sat down and his eyes blazed at Conri.

" I need you to handle this matter of the pack. Your presence will hold lots of water since Due Corporation and the construction site have the most employees in Alaska. ’ Conri instructed Lucian. Lucian seemed displeased but he stood up and walked out of the mansion. We all followed suit and left the Freki mansion for the pack offices.

When we arrived the enforcers and pack members had already arrived. As we descended the cars we watched as the whispers and murmurs amongst themselves grew especially when Lucian Freki stepped out of the car. We walked into the main pack office hall where all the enforcers gathered and the ones outside followed us. When Luna stood at the head of the hall table everyone went silent. We all stood behind her as a way of showing support.

" Now that you are all here. I want to address the rumors that made you gather at the pack offices. " Luna spoke up.

"So you brought it CEO Lucian to defend you " one of the pack members spoke up.

" She means to threaten us by having CEO Lucian by her side. " Another yelled.

A low rumble could be heard from my chest as I growled and then the whole hall was in complete silence.

A pack member stood up and said " Benjamin, we don’t mean any disrespect to your mate but a pregnant Alpha cannot protect the pack. "

" Why ever not ?" Zeeb growled.

" You are just biased because she is your mother, " Another member retorted.

" What about me?" Lucian stepped forward

" CEO Lucian, the Golden shifter back needs an Alpha with authority and one that can defend our pack" A member yelled.

" And what If I say that I support Alpha Luna, what are you going to say next " Lucian demanded.

There were low grumbles by the members and then one said " Our final decision is that we can’t have Luna Elijah as the Alpha of the Golden Shifter pack.

" How about this? Let the person who deems fit step forward and challenge me for the post. I will fight them " Luna declared and the members of the packs all looked shocked.

" You know very well that no one can fight a pregnant woman. Your mate will kill anyone who tries to harm you. How is that fair? " The head of the pack enforcers Amon Cain finally stood up and spoke defiantly.

" Finally, he has shown himself " Levy muttered through gritted teeth.

" Amon, do you want to challenge me for the post of the Alpha? "

" No. But I would like to Nominate someone for the position" Amon raised his chin.

" By all means do so " Luna raised her hands at him.

In that instance, the doors opened and Boris Carter and Keith Isla walked in. I heard the intake of breath coming from Lucian and Zeeb.

" Where the fuck did these two crawl from? " Anisha muttered.

" I hope we are not too late Alpha Luna " Boris’ voice rose and it was laced with sarcasm.

" Not at all," Luna nodded. " Welcome "

" Are you pretending to be happy to see us ?" Keith’s eyes blazed angrily.

" How else should I act ?" Luna demanded.

" How is the investigation of the death of my family members going on ?" Boris demanded.

" Nothing has been done so far sar " Amon Cain’s accusatory tone rose.

" Lobo Aria killed your mother and the hybrid Isamu snapped your son’s neck. Tell me Boris, how is that for investigation ?" Luna growled and all felt her Alpha power. The wolves heard her whining as they retreated. " I will not let anyone accuse me of not doing my job "

" I thought you knew where Lobo was? Wasn’t it Isamu that held you back in Japan?" Everest crossed his arms and his legs widened.

" We are here to propose that Boris Carter be named the Alpha of the Golden shifter pack" Amon Cain interjected again.

" What ?" Lucian burst out laughing.

" Yes, " Keith nodded and Levy snickered.

" I doubt that Boris can protect the pack. I would bet on Luna to protect us" Anisha chuckled.

" You are not a member of the pack. How dare you speak up" Amon yelled and in a nanosecond, Lucian had moved with speed, grabbed Amon’s neck, and banged it on the table. He held him there as we watched the magic aura surround Lucian and then felt the power of Freki as Lucian growled and the whole room rattled.

" What the fuck did you say " Lucian demanded as his eyes blazed golden.

" Brother, let him go" Anisha stepped forward.

" No. He disrespected you. The best I can do is break his finger so that he can always remember never to utter such words ever again. As the newly appointed head of enforcers, your loyalty seems to be inclined towards another alpha"

We all listened as Amon whined and fought for air.

" Lucian, let him go please " Anisha begged and Lucian let Amon go by dropping him on the ground and then walked over to stand by Luna. The magic aura around his body receded as the pack member stared at Lucian in awe.

" Are you seeing this?" Zeeb whispered to Levy and Levy could only nod.

" I Lucian Freki maintain that Luna Elijah remains the pack Alpha "Lucian’s voice boomed over the hall and we watched fear lace all the pack members’ eyes.

" Nephew, who is trying to scare" Boris snickered.

" How about we fight it out ?" Lucian faced Boris and raised his eyebrows

There was pin-drop silence in the room.

" Come one Lucian, I can’t fight you " Boris stuttered.

" Why ever not? The position of the pack Alpha can be fought out " Luna responded.

" I can’t believe I am standing in a pack that thinks that a She-wolf is not a good leader to be the pack Alpha because she is pregnant. All I know is that Luna is carrying Alpha pups and if they are born they will be destined to be the Alpha of the Golden shifter pack. " Lucian spoke up.

" What?"

" Twins?"

" Alpha pups"

" That is good news "

The rumbles and murmurs of the pack members rose.

" Congratulations Benjamin " Everest beamed at me.

" Thank you " I responded but the thunderous look on my face never faded as I made a mental note of the persons who disrespected Luna.

" I do believe it’s too early to dismiss me. We have until eight months when the pups will be born. My wolf will not let anyone hurt them and moresore my mate will protect me. But that does not mean I cannot take anyone down who dares harm the Golden Shifter pack. " Luna announced.

" Well said, " Everest responded.

" That sounds about right, " Anisha nodded.

" But to be fair we can vote. I don’t want to be seen as an alpha that dictates’ ’ Luna smiled and raised her hands in the gesture that we should proceed.

" The members of the KODA council are the ones who begin to vote," Keith said.

" You are not a member of the KODA council, " Levy pointed out.

" He replaced your father. As the chair of the KODA council I vouch for him" Boris raised his chin defiantly.

" Those are two votes, " Luna nodded.

" Your vote does not count, " Keith stated.

" I vote for Alpha Luna " Benjamin spoke up and Boris smirked.

" I vote for Alpha Luna, " Hunter’s voice rose from the door. Next to her was Tala Elijah. She rushed over and hugged Luna and pressed a kiss on her cheek.

Hunter slowly walked past Boris and Keith and then he growled so loud at Amon that he whined and dropped to his feet. Hunter snickered and uttered " Fool". We all felt his Alpha powers as he stood tall and defiant.

" You are back, " Lucian nodded at Hunter.

" I am back " Hunter turned to face the pack members. All the enforcers shied away as their eyes darted across the room.

" Are we in a stalemate ?" I heard Keith whisper at Hunter.

" Why should we be ?" Eliane Due’s voice rose from the door as she walked in with Elder Zaya.

" I vote for Alpha Luna. " Elder Zaya smiled.

" That would make three votes for Luna " I chucked as I laced my hand with Luna and beamed down at her.

" With that said and done, we will stick around for the pack to vote" Elder Zaya slowly walked over and Lucian pulled a chair for her. Eliana remained by her side but her eyes were glued on Boris Carter with hate and disgust.

" Take your time pack members. We are not going anywhere " Lucian spoke up.

Boris and Keith seemed uneasy as they whispered amongst themselves. Amon stood up and was about to leave the room and Hunter’s words stopped him short " Where the fuck do you think you are running off to Amon? " Amon took a step back and remained stoic.

" Are you threatening him? " Keith snickered.

" No. I am not. I wonder where he was rushing off to when the pack was about to vote. " Hunter’s voice boomed. " A word of advice to all the pack members, If you vote for Alpha Luna, you will support me as the pack enforcer and the support of Elder Zaya, Eliana Due, Lucian Freki and Anisha Nora, Everest Gold and Levy Isla, Tala and Zeeb Elija. But if you vote for Boris Carter, you will only have the support of Keith Isla. The choice is yours"

Boris Carter’s eyes blazed with anger while Keith Isla muttered curses under his breath. A small smile played on my lips as I knew that none of the pack members would risk voting for Boris Carter.
