Chapter 117: WASGO-SEA WOLF

Exactly six hours later, I got to the Island of Sitka, shifted once I reached land, and then blended in with the people in the city. The beauty of Sitka was that it was almost seven pm, but the sun was still high on the ground. I walked into the hotel that I had booked before I left. The old guard named August, who worked at the pier that I had contacted, came to deliver clothes for me.

"Sir, it’s been years since you came to Sitka" He bowed placed the clothes on the bed, and pushed the cart in for the room service he had ordered.

"How is your family, August?"

"They are doing well, sir. I also found information about the Hemmings. But an additional person is living with them. She is their niece."

"That complicates everything," I groaned. What about the jet ?"

"It is ready for take off tomorrow morning. The two bodyguards you hired are already downstairs. I will introduce them when you are ready. " He bowed and left.

An hour later, I had showered and eaten; I pulled up the leather jacket, placed the old clothes in a plastic bag, and left the hotel room. I walked down to the visitors’ area and found August with the two guards.

"Dispose of these clothes," I instructed August and handed him the plastic bags. "How many cars did you bring?" I asked the bodyguards

"Three cars, "one bodyguard responded.

"This should be a clean job. In and out," I commanded.

"Yes, sir," they both responded and then walked ahead of me as we left the hotel. August bid us farewell as we sped off to Halibut Point where the Hemming family resided. By the time we arrived at the meetup point with our contact person, it was already eleven pm.

"How is the security? " One bodyguard asked him.

" Clear. The guys who were assigned are locked up in the basement of one house. The security cameras have been disabled and the alarm system has frozen. It should be a clean job," He responded.

We moved in stealthily and arrived at the house where the Hemmings resided. The lights were still on, an indication that they had not turned in. I walked to the door and knocked on it. A young man who was the spitting image of Hunter opened the door. " Who are you" He demanded as his eyes widened.

"I want to speak to your Mother" I responded.

"Who is at the door at this time, Aspen?" I heard a female voice and then a woman in her mid-twenties stood behind him.

"This man is looking for Ma, "Aspen growled.

"Let him in, "I heard a frail voice from the house say.

Aspen moved aside while the female remained adamant. " Move aside Addison, " the woman’s voice scolded.

Finally, the woman moved aside and then I walked into the house as the wood creaked beneath my feet as the bodyguards remained at the door. The house looked warm as I walked deeper into the house and found a large living room with a fireplace. There was a middle-aged woman seated by the fireplace knitting a scarf.

"Good evening Ma’am " I stood at a distance and greeted her.

"My eyes are lying to me. I thought I would never see your kind. " She smiled and stood up, placing the scarf and knitting needle on the chair, and walked over to stand in front of me.

I grinned at her and said, "We do exist. I am Bering Tizheruk"

"I am Mrs Lusa Hemming." I bet that Hunter sent you and found a way to get us out of here, "she chuckled as her broad shoulder shook from the effect.

"Yes," I nodded at her.

"It is too dangerous. " She shook her head.

"Yet here I am. " I raised my hands.

"How much time do we have?" She asked.

"One hour," I informed her.

She turned to her children and said, " Pack what you can. We need to leave. "

Addison and Aspen moved with speed and disappeared upstairs.

"Who else are we carrying along? " I asked her with a raised eyebrow.

She stared at me for a moment and asked, " Do you think you will be ready for her?"

"What do you mean?" I took a step forward.

The kitchen door opened and out came a young woman, with blonde hair and green eyes. I was star-struck as I felt like I was staring at myself and then my serpent beast stirred in my head.

"This is Haida" Mrs Hemming stated.

"The Wasgo Sea Wolf "My serpent beast sent the words through our mind link.

I stood staring at Haida and she turned to Mrs Hemming and said, "Are we leaving?"

"Yes," Mrs Hemming nodded at her.

"Let me grab a few things, " She said, and she was gone in a flash.

"What the hell?" I whispered more to myself.

"It seems destiny brought you here. She has been searching for her kind for a long time. I took her in when I found her hurt by the fishing bay. " Mrs Hemming supplied.

I could only nod and listen.

"You know what she is?" Mrs Hemming pressed on.

"Yes," I responded.

At that moment they all came down with light bags and said we are ready. But Haida kept hiding behind Aspen, and for the first time, I felt a pang of jealousy in centuries.

I walked out of the house, and they followed me to the car. We drove to the airstrip and found the jet waiting. We boarded the jet as the bodyguards remained behind while the air hostess moved around the cabin, checking on everything.

"Where are we headed?" Mrs Hemmings asked.

"Yukon in Canada" I responded.

"I want to see Hunter," Aspen spoke up.

"You will in due course. For now, the paramount thing is to get you to safety," I responded.

The buzzing on my phone interrupted our conversation, and I groaned when I checked the caller ID. " Master"

"What is it Conri" I spoke once I connected the call.

"You brat, where are you now?" Conri demanded.

"Dont you ever sleep? Do you know what time it is?" I deflected.

"Bering" He growled.

"I am leaving Sikta as we speak. The jet is about to take off. I will land in Canada. Once I settle, I will give you a call. Tell Tala that the mission was successful" I disconnected the call and switched off the phone.

"Who is Tala? "Haida spoke up before the rest could ask. Her clear green pupils met with mine and I could feel the pressure of the question that sounded like a demand.

"Hunter’s mate," I responded and had the gasp from Mrs Hemming.

"He found a mate?" She sniffed.

"Yes. But they are not yet mated. It’s complicated" I huffed.

"Will Lobo Aria follow us?" Aspen asked.

"He will not be able to find you," I snickered and leaned back on the chair as the jet took off.

"You seem confident, " Addison observed.

I remained silent and then Haida poised the question, " What are you? My beast is never afraid, but it has retreated since you walked into the house. I can sense your power, and I know you are lethal and dangerous. "

"Did Haida finally find her voice? " Addison teased her.

I raised my head and stared directly at her. " Why are you so curious ?"

"I don’t like being in the presence of someone who can take my life at any minute, " She pointed out.

"You can relax. I am only here to deliver all of you safely and get back to Chugach. I have no other business," I responded and placed my head back on the chair rest.

"I don’t like him, " I heard Haida whisper to Mrs Hemming.

"What there not to like? He is charming, handsome, and powerful, " Mrs Hemming chuckled.

"I sense he will bring us trouble, " Haida pressed on.

"You mean to bring you trouble? " Addison laughed. " You seem to be attracted to him, Haida. That is why you finally found your tongue. Since you moved in five years ago, you rarely speak to me and Aspen. But today you have words rolling from your mouth. "

Addison’s teasing and observations must have worked since Haida remained mute for the rest of the flight. We arrived in Canada late afternoon the next day. The cars were waiting at the airport as Hunter had made arrangements. We left the airport drove deep into the glacier mountains and arrived at a large villa by the Emerald Lake.

I got out of the car and the security team received us as we walked into the posh villa. The villa looked new but was fully furnished with staff who rushed to attend to the Hemmings. I was ushered into the guest room and before I could enter I heard Mrs Hemmings’s voice " Thank you, Bering ’

I turned around and found her standing by the corridor her eyes flowed with tears. I walked over to her without inhibition and pulled her into a warm hug. ’ You are now safe. "

"It has been a long time since I felt free. I have been under his mercy for years since he took Hunter away, "She confessed.

"Dont worry. I promise to get Hunter here within the shortest time possible, " I stated.

She moved away from the embrace and stood looking up at me. " I need another favor "

"No" I shook my head, knowing well she wanted me to look after Haida.

"She is your kind. She would thrive well with you. " Mrs Hemming begged.

"I will sleep on it. "I nodded, walked to my room, and closed the door. I slid down by the door in fear and anxiety. The minute I walked into Hemmings’s home in Sitki I knew that Haida was my mate. I felt it in my bones and Bering my beast stirred. No wonder the tattoo on my back was a wolf. The gods knew that Wasgo-The Sea Wolf was my mate.

" Finally, " I whispered in pain as I closed my eyes and the tears came through. I had finally paid for my sins and would be free of the curse from the moon gods.
