"Is Lobo Aria sick in the head? The KODA rules are clear. An alpha shall always protect his pack" I spoke up and felt the rumble in my chest that emitted from how angry I was.

"Hunter made me promise to keep it a secret because there are lives that depend on him. "Tala hiccupped. I could tell that the news had broken her.

"Calm down. Let me get you something warm to drink from the kitchen. I will be right back. " I nodded and left my office. Heading to the kitchen, I asked the chef to make lemon water with honey as I made a call to Everest.

He picked up on the first ring and I demanded, "Do you know what Lobo Aria has been doing to anyone who is an Alpha in the pack?"

"No" Everest seemed to be unaware of the matter. " Why ?"

"Tala is here at the pub. She seems broken and hurt, "I informed him.

"She came to see Conri at the site. She asked him for help, but I have no idea for what. Tell me what is going on ?"

"Hunter Hemming is an Alpha. But Lobo Aria suppressed his wolf. "

"What the fuck?" Are you kidding me?" Everest yelled.

"Lower your voice," I scolded him. "I need you to find out how many more alphas are under Lobo Aria suppression. "

"Did you say Tala asked Conri for help?" I asked, replaying the words that Everest stated.

"Yes. ’ Everest affirmed.

"Thanks. I will call you later," I stated as I picked up the lemon water and headed back to my office. When I walked in, Tala was calm and Luna was pacing up and down. I placed the water on Tala’s extended hand and she drank it quietly.

"Patiently wait. " I walked over and placed a hand on her shoulder. "You need to trust him. He knows what he is doing. If he was brave enough to reveal what or who is he, then that was a step in the right direction. "

Tala nodded and then added, " I doubt the men who have been set to Mount Chugach will gain anything. Hunter already saw through our plan. He told me it was useless and that we would find nothing. "

"Something fishy is going on. Do you think they let Lyal escape and that is why they don’t want anyone near the Chugach prison?" I demanded.

"That could be it. " Luna nodded.

"When I followed Hunter, he told me that Lobo Aria has been watching him. And true to his words, enforcers found us early in the morning, but I managed to escape. " I muttered.

"You slept in the woods with him ?" Luna raised an eyebrow.

"In the meantime, it would be best not to expose Hunter. If Lobo Aria even suspects that you are mates, he will not hesitate to use this as Hunter’s weakness. "I informed Tala.

"I have a feeling that Hunter has realized that Lobo Aria is using him. "Tala nodded. "But I will lie low and wait. Thank you for your advice"

"I will drop you home" Luna walked over and held hands with Tala.

"Let us go together," I interjected. My gut feeling told me that it was better to stay close to Luna at all times.

We left the pub together as I drove Tala home. She leaned on Luna in the back seat as I watched them from the mirror and fell asleep. Once we arrived at Anisha’s apartment, where Tala was staying, Luna woke her up.

"We have arrived," she informed Tala.

Tala nodded and just as she was about to open the car door, I felt Gold warn me that we had company.

"Wait," I commanded her and then turned around to say, "We have company. "

I stepped out of the car and walked around it pretending to be going round to the door where Tala would alight and then sensed the presence of two enforcers who hid by the building. I turned around and spotted them and they looked shocked as I rushed towards them with speed. I hit one before they could run and as the other took off, Luna was already out of the car and kicked him.

They both groaned on the ground and looked scared as Luna growled, "We know who sent you, but why?’

"Alpha asked us to watch if Hunter would visit Tala in her apartment, "One enforcer confessed.

"Why?" I demanded

"We have no idea why Alpha thought that Hunter would come back from Chugach straight to Tala’s apartment."

"Scram," Luna growled, and they rushed off as Tala chuckled behind us.

Luna turned around and said, "Why did you get out of the car"

"Lobo Aria is getting more and more paranoid," Tala snickered.

"You are coming with me," Luna stated as she draped Tala up the apartment while I remained at the parking lot, keeping watch. They came down twenty minutes later carrying a suitcase and bag, and I knew Luna was being a protective mother.

"You and Benjamin are just mated. Why would I live with you? " Tala complained as we left Anisha’s apartment and I drove through the roads, headed home to the pier.

"I am not taking any chances, "Luna affirmed.

As we got home, Tala’s eyes widened, and she cursed, "Fuck, this is where you live ?"

Luna nodded I parked the car in the mansion and we alighted. I picked up the suitcase and bag and walked ahead of Luna and Tala.

"Oh Ma, you got so lucky "Tala laughed and it was good to hear the hearty laughter after the heartbreaking sobs earlier.

"I did. "Luna beamed and winked at me.

I opened the house and ushered them in as Luna showed Tala around the house and I set her bags in the bedroom that was downstairs. When I walked over, they were standing on the balcony staring out at the beautiful sea view.

"My goodness Benjamin, you are such a darling. " She rushed over and embraced me in a warm hug.

"I am lucky to have your mother as my mate, " I responded as I returned the hug.

"I am going to call you Dad from now on, " Tala stood back and announced as she winked at Luna.

"What?" we both responded in surprise.

"Dad, thank you for being here. I do appreciate you. I am off to take a shower and goodnight. Thank you for today" She rushed out of the balcony and disappeared.

"What just happened?" I turned to Luna, whose eyes were filled with tears as she hiccuped and bit back a sob. "Why are you crying ?"

She moved in to hug me and said "I am happy "

"Do you think Lobo will stop?" Luna whispered. " I fear that Hunter will not be able to protect her.

"Hunter had to challenge Lobo, but without Conri’s help, it would be futile. " I advised.

Luna stepped back and said, " Tomorrow, let us go see Conri and discuss this matter."

I nodded and then pulled her from the balcony, and slid the doors shut as we walked up the stairs to our master bedroom. After a shower, we both got on the bed and cuddled, as sleep eluded both of us.
