Catastrophe Containment Facility
Chapter 872: Supreme Containment—Creator of Humanity

Chapter 872: Chapter 872: Supreme Containment—Creator of Humanity

That’s right, the ones who emerged from the giant’s toes are humans!

Five men from the left foot, five women from the right, all bald and naked, with vacant eyes and frail bodies.

Their bodies were covered in a slightly fishy-smelling liquid, possibly some kind of nurturing fluid, or perhaps... amniotic fluid!

According to Wen Wen’s observations, their physical condition resembled that of newborns, except some appeared older, some younger.

Once the ten people emerged, staff from the Hunter Association draped clothes over them and then took them away.

The ten offered no resistance, easily transported onto the truck; any bystander might think it was a scene of human trafficking.

Trucks parked along the east side of the giant, hundreds of them, had transported heaps of corpses over, and would now take these newly ’created’ people away.

Before the initial ten could board, another ten emerged from the toes, seeming endless.

It’s hard to imagine just how many humans this colossal body can birth.

Wen Wen looked at this massive ’human’, his expression so dour it seemed one could wring water from it.

From this scene alone, numerous dark and crazed speculations flashed through his mind, but he didn’t let those thoughts spread. Instead, he asked Sun Shanxing in a deep voice:

"What is this thing?"

"Supreme Containment, Code Zero Two... Creator of Humanity."

"Heh, you’re saying humanity was created by this thing?"

Wen Wen’s tone was disdainful, but he had no intention to underestimate the giant; the code Supreme Containment Zero Two was of immense significance.

Monsters caught by the Hunter Association and contained items were referred to by level and code, with the highest being Catastrophe Level.

But when something surpasses Catastrophe Level, it’s termed Supreme Containment.

And Zero Two indicates it’s the second containment item of this class discovered by the Hunter Association.

Sun Shanxing shook his head: "Whether it’s the source of humanity, no one dares to confirm, but genetic analysts at the Association have determined that everything about these humans it creates is identical to naturally born humans."

"They feel happiness, anger, sorrow, joy, bleed and get hurt—all that humans can do, they can too. Some, endowed with high inspiration, even have the potential to awaken supernatural powers."

"In other words, they are the same as us!"

Sun Shanxing lit a cigarette, sighed deeply, and said:

"I wouldn’t dare claim all of humanity was created by it, nor would anyone, but at least now, over half of the human population carries the lineage of humans it created."

"At least half..."

"Half is a conservative estimate," Sun Shanxing added.

Wen Wen felt a whirlwind of emotions, even more complex than when he learned the Hunter Association could modify the memory of an entire city or even a province.

Like most in the Federation, he believed humanity evolved from apes, but now that belief wavered.

"It’s shocking, isn’t it? I was too initially, upon seeing this giant," Sun Shanxing exhaled a smoke ring.

"According to the Association’s archaeologists, Supreme Containment Zero Two appeared in this world at least ten thousand years ago."

"Many primitive tribal relics feature primitive worship imagery similar to Supreme Containment Zero Two, proving Zero Two was likely a widely worshipped deity in that era."

"Many wall paintings passed down through various sects depict humans kneeling at the feet of a deity, originating from this one here."

After saying this, Sun Shanxing didn’t elaborate for Wen Wen.

He intended to let Wen Wen see Supreme Containment Zero Two to also ’intimidate’ the Black Cross Organization, showcasing their strength.

Displaying such a powerful card from the Hunter Association means they hold an advantage in future negotiations.

As Vice President of the Capital Hunter Association, Sun Shanxing also knew little about Supreme Containment Zero Two. Only Judicators and branch presidents were qualified for comprehensive understanding.

However, Sun Shanxing knew the Hunter Association didn’t have strong control over Supreme Containment Zero Two. It hadn’t shown explicit intelligence, yet collaborated proactively with the Association in certain aspects.

In places suffering severe population shortages, the core members of the Association would communicate with Supreme Containment Zero Two through some method, prompting Zero Two to use an incomprehensible way to appear nearby, devour numerous corpses, then begin creating humans.

Supreme Containment Zero Two doesn’t engage in combat or harm any life proactively, yet if attacks against it exceed certain limits, it displays utterly unreasonable combat abilities, decimating all enemies.

Moreover, devouring corpses isn’t to use them as material to create humans, but to fulfill some kind of ritual.

Human after human emerged under Supreme Containment Zero Two’s feet, truck after truck driving away, this giant continuing to produce humans until the outputted population could sustain the region ravaged by the Undead Catastrophe.

This also resolved Wen Wen’s curiosity about why, despite frequent major events causing massive human casualties, the overall population never seemed to decline.

After initial bewilderment, Wen Wen felt a surge of gratitude for his inherently maddening nature, allowing him to confirm his birth from his parents, rather than being generated by this thing.

Regarding those transported away, Wen Wen could generally surmise the Association’s actions.

They’d fabricate new memories from survivor recollections and instill them into these blank slate bodies, then they’d begin new lives.

With the Hunter Association’s operation, no more than a couple of years later, this place would seem just like before.

After a moment of silence, Wen Wen asked Sun Shanxing: "Will there be any hidden dangers with these manufactured humans?"

"There are some risks. They’re essentially newborns, memories less stable than normal humans, so there might be some individuals experiencing memory collapse and, over time, leading to large-scale memory deviation within the local population."

"But all this is within controllable limits, causing no significant unrest."

"Well... that’s good," Wen Wen sighed and left directly.

This Supreme Containment Zero Two scene was indeed grand, excessively so, stifling his spirit to the point he couldn’t stay any longer.
