Chapter 665: Chapter 655: The Millennium Sanctuary

After Dr. Feng finished the conversation, Wen Wen directed his gaze toward Ais Wakaz, "Returning here once again, how do you feel?"

Ais Wakaz didn’t respond immediately. After a good long while, he finally said to Wen Wen, "Can you let me leave the Sanctuary? As long as you can, I’ll do anything you ask."

Wen Wen curiously asked, "Even if it means getting pregnant?"

Ais was taken aback. He knew of creatures in his records with the ability to self-impregnate as hermaphrodites. If he truly had to become pregnant to leave this place, then he could actually do it.

"Don’t overthink it, I was just joking." Originally, Wen Wen intended to shoot Ais with an arrow as well, but since Ais seemed capable of doing it himself, Wen Wen lost interest.

"I have several questions for you. As long as your answers satisfy me, I can let you leave this place." Wen Wen pointed to Ais’s cell and said with sincerity.

Ais was doubtful of Wen Wen’s words, "Are you serious?"

Wen Wen nodded and said, "Of course, I am serious. If I don’t make it happen, may I walk outside and be crushed by a meteorite or stepped on by a passing Giant of Light..."

"What a lot of nonsense... But I have no choice but to believe you. Ask away; I’ll answer you to the best of my knowledge." Although he found Wen Wen’s words hardly credible, Ais was in such disarray he had to agree.

Wen Wen nodded with satisfaction. It was rare to find monsters as cooperative as Ais after entering the Sanctuary. He raised a finger and said, "First question, what was the Sanctuary like a thousand years ago?"

Ais Wakaz was startled. He thought Wen Wen should know better than him what the Sanctuary was like, but he still answered seriously, "Mysterious, powerful, terrifying."

"Before the Sanctuary captured me, I had no idea what it was. But back then, every monster knew that aside from organizations like the Glory Church, there was another secret organization capturing monsters. Those taken by this organization would vanish without a trace, never to be seen again."

Wen Wen nodded. According to the Hunters Association records, a thousand years ago, it was the Glory Church and several other secret organizations protecting the world; the Hunters Association had not yet risen to power.

"That organization was like a bloodthirsty monster lurking in the night, the nightmare in the hearts of all monsters back then, with countless terrifying legends about it. It was only after being captured and brought here that I realized those legends were all true, and this place is even more terrifying..."

At this point, Ais shuddered. The Sanctuary from a thousand years ago had instilled so much fear in him that even thinking about it made his whole body tremble. That’s why he was so desperate to become a Catastrophe Level Being.

Ais described in detail what he knew of the Sanctuary. His knowledge of the Sanctuary was actually limited, but as a prisoner from a thousand years ago, Wen Wen still learned a lot of new information from him.

A thousand years ago, the Sanctuary was managed by four Catastrophe-Level Experts, including Jin Kela, who oversaw the four layers of the Sanctuary, handling various matters and being the most terrifying figures in the minds of the monsters.

But regarding the master of the Sanctuary and the manager of the fifth layer, Ais knew nothing at all.

Another noteworthy point was that a thousand years ago, the Sanctuary not only imprisoned monsters but also had a place called the ’Punishment Facility,’ where monsters who committed grievous crimes were endlessly tormented. It was because of Ais’s experience in the Punishment Facility that he held such dread of the Sanctuary.

After digesting what Ais had shared, Wen Wen held up another finger, "Second question, how did you all escape from the Sanctuary in the first place?"

A flicker passed through Ais’s eyes, "That... I’m not sure," he said.

With a flip of his hand, Wen Wen’s chains burrowed into Ais’s body, beginning to punish him. The intense pain quickly made him alter his statement.

"It was the ’Guide’ who lead us out from the Sanctuary. The Sanctuary was very vacant at that time. The Guide released us from our cells one by one, and before other Catastrophe Level Powerhouses could discover us, led us out of the Sanctuary."

Wen Wen continued to inquire, "And who exactly is this Guide? Do you remember how he unlocked the cell doors, and how you all left?"

Ais shook his head, "All I remember is that he did it all with ease. He gathered us together, laid his hand upon our shoulders, and we all appeared outside of the Sanctuary."

Wen Wen’s brows furrowed. To leave the Sanctuary with a large group, only Wen Wen himself could do it in the present Sanctuary.

"The Guide’s power was very strange, a kind of light much purer than that of the Angels. As for his strength, I am not clear; he said he wasn’t Catastrophe Level, but even in my True Order Realm, I still found him unfathomable."

After hearing Ais’s description, Wen Wen became curious about this Guide. The person might have high-level access to the Sanctuary or strength even greater than that of Jin Kela and the others.

Whichever was true, for Wen Wen in his current state, this person was a significant threat.

Wen Wen raised a third finger, "Last question, I want the detailed circumstances of your organization—hiding places, personnel structure, and their abilities..."

Ais, resigned to his fate, laid it all out for Wen Wen, "Our organization is very loose, so I don’t know much. There are at least ten or more True Order Realm superpower users, and maybe even more; who knows how many have secretly advanced in these thousand years..."

"The two most powerful on the surface, one is the Death Knight, who controls the Power of Death, and the other is a Hydra that controls nine different elemental strengths..."

Wen Wen recorded all that Ais said, as these were valuable intelligence for him. After Ais was finished, he looked expectantly at Wen Wen, "Do you have any other questions?"

Wen Wen thought for a moment and said, "Not for now."

"Then when can you let me leave this place..."

Wen Wen revealed a sly smile and said, "Heh, right now."

Then, with a flip of his hand, Ais’s cell swapped places with Dr. Feng’s...

"I’ve already let you leave your original cell. I will come to you with questions in the future." After speaking, Wen Wen whistled and left.

After remaining silent for a good while, Ais sat down helplessly on the ground. He had guessed that Wen Wen might not keep his promise, but he hadn’t anticipated such a brazen way of going back on his word.

The monsters in the other cells gave Ais strange looks, having never seen someone so compliant on their first entry into the Sanctuary, and not even uttering a word when duped.

After feeling their unusual gazes, Ais Wakaz coldly snorted in disdain.

It seemed that these imprisoned fellows hadn’t yet endured the true terror of the Sanctuary. Once they experienced it, they would not have the courage to rebel.
