Chapter 484: Chapter 482 Siege Lion

After rushing into the forest for a while, Wen Wen stopped, a slight frown on his face; that feeling of being followed had emerged again. That guy sure was persistent.

But if he insisted on following, so be it, as long as Wen Wen didn’t enter the Sanctuary in front of him, he wouldn’t be able to find any flaws in Wen Wen’s behavior.

Because of his pursual, Wen Wen’s actions in the forest had become much safer, but he couldn’t incarcerate monsters in the Sanctuary anymore, which he found particularly regrettable.

"Since I can’t capture any monsters, I might as well gather more materials to take back. The last time I came here, there was so much I couldn’t carry away, but for the current me... this place is a treasure trove!"

"Next I’ll start hunting, can you keep up? If you can... there’s no harm in letting you follow."

Wen Wen soared into the sky, spreading his hands into position, as a spear autonomously flew into his grasp.

He then closed his eyes, beginning to sense the nearby monsters emanating a blue light energy.

Next, he opened his eyes, targeted a giant anteater shimmering with a blue glow, and violently threw his spear at it.

The spear, descending from the sky, pierced through the anteater’s skull, and then Wen Wen’s figure appeared out of nowhere, grabbing the spear, kicking the creature’s corpse, and directly putting it into the Space Ring.

After that, Wen Wen’s movements didn’t pause for a moment as he threw the spear again, piercing a wild boar ablaze with flames, instantly collecting its corpse.

Then his speed reached its extreme, leveraging the Throwing Spear and the blue humanoid’s space shifting ability, Wen Wen achieved a maximum speed that was unreachable by other Mid-Tier Powerhouses.

At this velocity, in just a few breaths’ time, Wen Wen had killed six monsters and appeared seven or eight kilometers away.

After slaying six monsters, Wen Wen finally stopped, breathing heavily, the sweat on his body evaporating into steam, forming a white mist around him.

"Indeed, such extreme maneuvers put too great a burden on both my mind and body... yet before, I never even thought I could go to such lengths."

Just in the time of a few breaths, to traverse such a long distance and slaughter six monsters, was something the former Wen Wen would have found unimaginable.

However, killing the monsters so rapidly resulted in the Space Ring reaching its limit. It was okay for carrying personal items, but the monsters here were each huge in size.

Most importantly, that feeling of being watched persisted, casting a shadow behind him, which meant he couldn’t shake off that person by relying on this method, and continuing like this would only be mistreating himself on one side.

In a place out of Wen Wen’s sight, an old man with white hair wearing a white robe wiped the sweat from his brow.

"I’m getting old. I almost lost him just now. Are young people nowadays all this fearsome? Even that kid Yin Hu is terrifyingly quick-witted, even I can’t keep up..."

This elder was none other than Chief Investigator Zheng Diao, he had transferred Wen Wen here because he wanted to see Wen Wen’s response in the face of such a significant event.

He hadn’t shown himself during the Demon Spirit Village incident because he knew Xun Ying greatly disliked them investigators, and rather than stepping out and being met with that guy’s disapproval, he preferred "out of sight, out of mind."

"If only you weren’t so involved with the ’Black Cross’."

Chief Investigator Zheng Diao had reviewed Wen Wen’s profile, and given the potential Wen Wen had shown, if his background were clean, he would’ve already received a hefty share of the Association’s resources for cultivation.

Wen Wen released all the monsters he had stored in the Space Ring, skillfully removed the usable parts from their bodies, and left the rest of the carcasses there.

The flesh and blood of monsters contained a vast amount of energy, so these bodies wouldn’t go to waste here; other monsters would devour them. Wen Wen only needed the essence of these creatures, which was enough for him.

Watching Wen Wen’s proficient technique, Chief Investigator Zheng Diao nodded slightly. With such a proactive approach in scavenging spoils of war, perhaps he really didn’t need the Association’s preferential resources.

After dealing with several monsters, Wen Wen sensed the Qi of another beast that had once neared the boundary and threw his Throwing Spear.

To Wen Wen’s surprise, his Spear was deflected by a swipe of a paw. When Wen Wen used the Spear to Teleport there, he saw a gaping maw snapping at him.

Wen Wen’s gaze sharpened as he, too, opened his mouth; a beam of purple-black light burst forth, hitting the monster in the mouth and causing it to roll around in agony.

It was only then that Wen Wen got a clear look at the beast. It was a giant lion, twice the size of an elephant, with fur that shone with a metallic sheen as if forged from fine iron, able to pass for a statue if it stood still.

"No wonder it could deflect my Throwing Spear. This lion has Disaster-Level strength and a body as solid as steel. It seems to be a well-rounded monster in both offense and defense, though its oral cavity seems to be its weakness."

The lion rolled around for a while before quieting down; then it crouched low, baring its teeth at Wen Wen, "Despicable human, why do you ambush me."

Wen Wen shook his head and said, "Ambush? No, it’s not an ambush, this is what I call... a blitz attack!"

Then his figure flashed, and he appeared beside the lion, aiming at its flank, and lunged forward.

After a heavy, muffled sound, the massive lion was pushed by Wen Wen several dozen meters away, crashing into a clump of trees. Nonetheless, the lion sprang up agilely and roared at Wen Wen.

"I am the Siege Lion, not even city walls can injure me in the slightest, and even if you are stronger, you won’t be able to kill me," it declared.

"Oh..." Wen Wen, digging his nose, replied, "If you’re an engineer, then I guess I’m an investor."

The lion paused, then asked seriously, "What kind of monster is an investor?"

"It’s not a monster, never mind, you wouldn’t understand even if I explained," Wen Wen said, glancing at the sword formation in the sky and smiling, "Have you ever thought about soaring under the blue skies one day?"

"Are you dumb? Lions can’t fly," the Siege Lion replied, looking at Wen Wen as if he were mentally challenged.

Wen Wen posed as if about to sprint, "No worries, I’ll help you take off!"

Underneath the Siege Lion, there was a Longsword that Wen Wen had discarded, he only had to snap his fingers to appear beneath it and, just like before, he shoved the Siege Lion upwards. As it was about to fall, he pushed again.

Before it could react, Wen Wen had launched it dozens of meters into the air, and the Longswords in the sky, sensing the presence of flesh like piranhas, rushed toward the Siege Lion, instantly turning its indestructible body into a sieve.

"What a pity, I really like stroking cats. Blame the one who has his eye on my place," said Wen Wen.
