Catastrophe Containment Facility
Chapter 483 - 481: Wild Soul

Chapter 483: Chapter 481: Wild Soul

Wen Wen was very satisfied with Qin Shuang’s abilities, but he didn’t dare to stay long in the Sanctuary. After the test, he came out directly from the Sanctuary.

The entire testing process was actually very quick, and even if something had happened outside during this time, Wen Wen could still handle it calmly.

After coming out, he straightened his clothes and continued observing the village, as there were too many things in the village that piqued his curiosity.

He hadn’t wandered for long before he came across Flame Sparrow, who was also strolling around the village, though her purpose was to find an opponent.

The two did not communicate, but Flame Sparrow looked at Wen Wen strangely, as she could intuitively feel that Wen Wen had changed from before.

Originally, she knew that while Wen Wen appeared refined, he was actually similar to herself, but he had hidden his true self.

Now, Wen Wen’s aura was vaguely emitting a twisted, icy, and bizarre presence, as if he had given up on hiding.

Just then, a blue light burst forth from Xun Ying’s room where he was interrogating the four elderly Demon Spirits, shooting up into the sky and merging with the barrier.

Wen Wen was startled initially, fearing that Xun Ying and those four old monsters had clashed, but upon closer consideration, he realized that the blue light seemed to be some kind of marker.

He levitated and flew high into the sky to look towards the mountain range, sensing that many monsters bore the unique essence of that blue light.

The longsword appeared again, this time a hundred meters tall, with countless normal-sized light swords flying around it, as if guarding.

Xun Ying stood at the top of the longsword, issuing orders in an even tone, "Rangers ’Wild Soul,’ ’Cangyan,’ ’Dragon Spear,’ and twelve others are the prime culprits of this incident and have lost their Ranger status."

"They are now within the Qi Ling Mountain Range. Find them, capture them, and retrieve the stolen Supreme Treasure of Demon Spirit Village."

"Also, the monsters that tried to break through the barrier have been marked. While you hunt down the traitors, kill them too."

After speaking, Xun Ying flicked his hand, scattering over a hundred small white jade swords, one of which flew into Wen Wen’s hand.

"From now on, within the Qi Ling Mountain Range, no flying allowed unless in possession of the Jade Sword!"

As his words fell, the countless longswords surrounding the giant sword dispersed, covering the entire range of Qi Ling Mountain.

The longswords continuously patrolled the area, spaced every few tens of meters, forcing all flying monsters to reluctantly retreat underground.

A disaster-level three-winged monster bird, exceedingly stubborn, tried to break out of the range covered by the longswords, but was almost instantly turned into a sieve by the swords.

Seeing the dire state of that monster bird, Wen Wen’s heart chilled. This Xun Ying was excessively powerful.

The Disaster True Sequence was already unreasonably powerful, but its strength would usually cover only the range of a mountain, whereas Xun Ying’s sword formation directly enveloped the entire mountain range!

However, as his power extended to this extent, he probably couldn’t achieve precise control any longer. Otherwise, he could use those longswords to kill all the monsters in Qi Ling Mountain on his own, without needing the Rangers to take action.

"In the Jade Sword, there is a Sword Intent. Stimulate the sword tip and hilt three times continuously, and I can receive your distress signal, but try not to use it with someone who’s not fit to be seen."

Wen Wen sat cross-legged on the hilt of his sword and finally said, "Now, go!"

All the Rangers dashed out in different directions. The Dragon Village Chief closed his eyes, somewhat unable to bear it. If this incident had not occurred, Demon Spirit Village could have provided shelter to these monsters, but now, in order to retrieve the Qilin Pearl, they could only go to their deaths!

...

A man with a bare upper body, disheveled long hair, and twisted tattoos covering his body sat in a cave, looking up at the towering giant sword and chuckled.

"Will you find me first, or will I become an existence like you first?"

He was known as the True Order Ranger ’Wild Soul’; he held an illusory bead in his hand which contained a spectral seven-colored Qilin, the very Qilin Pearl he had stolen.

The strength of the bead kept surging into his body, causing his veins to swell as if they were about to burst, but it was still within an acceptable range.

"Lord Wild Soul, you will certainly break through the limits of humanity to become an existence that transcends humans, the ninth Judicator of the Hunters Association!" a figure fully covered in black cloth knelt behind Wild Soul and said reverently.

Wild Soul shook his head and said, "Being a Judicator or whatever does not matter. As long as I gain strength, that’s enough. Only with strength can one make rules. I don’t want to live under someone else’s rules!"

He knew what he was doing and why he was doing it.

Wild Soul had become a target of the Demon Hunters for the pursuit of strength; his previous diligent service in the Association had also been for the sake of becoming stronger.

Gradually, however, his strength reached a bottleneck. No matter how hard he tried, he could not break through even a bit, and becoming a Catastrophe Level seemed to have become an obsession in his heart.

During an encounter with Demon Spirit Village, he accidentally discovered this figure being chased by a group of monsters, and he casually rescued the fellow.

Afterward, this figure recognized Wild Soul as his master and told him about the Supreme Treasure of Demon Spirit Village, the Qilin Pearl, which could turn a superpower user stuck at the True Sequence limit into a Catastrophe Level creature.

Wild Soul was immediately tempted, but he wasn’t foolish enough to completely trust this mysterious individual. Instead, he conducted extensive investigations within the Association, gathering information from various sources, and confirmed the real existence of the Qilin Pearl and its potential to help him break through.

Such a treasure, left to be venerated in a rundown village, was indeed a waste. Thus, Wild Soul conceived the idea of seizing it.

Of course, he did not trust the figure who provided the initial information. From planning to preparation to execution, not a single step involved this figure.

That figure might have had ulterior motives, but even if he was being used, as long as he could break through, Wild Soul would have no regrets.

Invested in absorbing the power of this bead, Wild Soul had done his homework. He knew that forcibly absorbing this power here would only cause him to burst.

If it had been in the past, even if he had seized the bead, it would have been useless. Therefore, it was likely that he would have only sighed in regret, rather than taking action.

However, some time ago, the Association began researching the topic of sharing power. If someone else shared the backlash with him, would he still be burst by this power?

Thus, Wild Soul spent a great deal of effort to secretly obtain part of the research results, then found more than a dozen other ambitious Demon Hunters, signed a contract, and together, they absorbed the power of the Qilin Pearl, jointly resisting its backlash.

Feeling the power growing inside him, Wild Soul sneered, "Now, I must be considered a traitor... But it doesn’t matter. As long as I succeed in breaking through, you will all come to me willingly..."
