Chapter 1985: Chapter 598 Dragon Lizard Prophet_3

Leonard Churchill didn’t feel any hostility, instead he felt a strange sense of trust.

....

There were several older Lizardmen in black robes in the temple, as if they had been waiting for a long time.

Before Leonard and his companions could think too much, the captain who led them in introduced, "That is Clan Chief Morey and the elders of our Dragon Lizard Clan..."

Leonard glanced, the clan chief was of the Eighth Rank, and the elders were also Seventh and Eighth Rank.

Though none were of the Ninth Tier, compared to the sheer number of Dragon Lizard Clan, this proportion of top-tier experts was already quite impressive.

It seemed this was indeed a leader meeting, the Lizard Race hadn’t even bothered with basic arrangements.

Leonard and his group certainly didn’t mind.

Sophia Jones stepped forward and introduced herself using the common language of the Southern Continent.

The Lizardman named Morey seemed to have experienced the human world, being familiar with human aristocratic etiquette.

He returned the courtesy and introduced himself, inviting them to sit on stone benches before the altar, and praised their courage in attending.

After all, under normal circumstances, even if Sophia Jones and Barre Shepherd were strong, just a few of them coming here faced almost no chance of survival if ambushed.

Elder Morey was quite courteous: "Our Dragon Lizard Clan has no intention of clashing with your army, so we’ve invited your leadership to clear up some possible misunderstandings that haven’t been conveyed well through messages..."

Sophia Jones listened quietly, nodding occasionally with official responses.

Upon reflecting, she realized these earth-cave Dragon Lizards intended neutrality, without planning on allowing passage.

While conversing face-to-face, their tone was indeed more courteous, yet they had never agreed to allow passage.

This left Sophia Jones puzzled; not allowing passage nor causing harm, what was their intention?

Leonard, standing nearby, was equally perplexed, having observed these Lizard elders and the surroundings without detecting any signs of conspiracy.

Instead, from the demeanor of these old Lizardmen, he detected a sense of curiosity?

They seemed quite curious about these humans.

This left Leonard wondering what they intended to do.

After the conversation ended, Sophia Jones wasn’t inclined to waste time, and spoke directly: "I harbor no intentions of causing difficulty for your clan, merely seeking passage through Dok Mountain Range. But Clan Chief Morey should be aware there are only two roads via the Abyss..."

Her tone carried the firmness of a General.

She wanted to directly see if they could gain passage.

Upon hearing this, Clan Chief Morey seemed undecided, a peculiar expression crossed his face: "Well... this can be discussed later... however, beforehand, I must explain the reason for inviting your leadership here..."

With these words, Leonard and his companions all directed their attention.

Now, after the face-to-face interaction, they realized this negotiation seemingly wasn’t decided by the Lizard Clan Chief.

This piqued their curiosity; perhaps other forces were guiding the Lizard Race.

Morey didn’t give them long to ponder, straightforwardly said: "’Prophet’ wants to meet you."

This statement brought immediate silence to the scene.

....

Prophet?

Upon hearing this, Leonard narrowed his eyes slightly.

Although he was unaware the Dragon Lizard Clan had a Prophet.

Merely hearing this title seemed to have immediately unraveled the source of all mysteries to him.

It really was akin to Darcy’s earlier speculation, an unexpected situation arose.

Analyzing the circumstances, Leonard understood these words, it seemed the Lizard Race’s Prophet had foreseen something of the future, leading to this leadership meeting.

In human classic books, the common explanation for Prophets is: individuals who comprehend the operational rules of universal entities.

They typically possess abilities in prophecy, divination, spirit vision, spirit communication, weaving destiny... and other transcendent abilities exceeding normal human perception.

Now having glimpsed the Rule Power of Universe Rules, Leonard gained a relatively accurate understanding of the Prophet’s capabilities in this transcendent profession.

If one considers the timeline of past, present, and future as a book, then the essence of prophecy is akin to temporarily elevating certain characters from the book, allowing a glimpse into past and future through the perspective of a reader.

Such glimpses are mostly vague fragments, like foreseeing a future flood, disaster, or plague... among other occurrences.

Yet these are sufficient for making corresponding decisions.

Leonard suddenly realized some scenes in the "Prophet’s" prophecy might be related to him.

Prophecies are often influenced by environment and other factors.

Before Leonard’s arrival, this Lizard Race maintained strict neutrality, but upon his arrival, they extended an invitation.

Certainly, this wasn’t a coincidence.

Meanwhile, Sophia Jones and Barre Shepherd couldn’t ascertain what these Lizardmen intended.

The three exchanged glances, sharing a mutual thought.

Since they were already here, regardless of the situation, they naturally had to take a look.
