Chapter 1984: 598 Chapter Dragon Lizard Prophet_2
Leonard Churchill was also uncertain about what kind of "uncertainty" this deduction involved.
However, that only made him more curious.
At his current realm, a situation he couldn’t deduce was most likely touching upon those ancient secrets.
As he thought, the six of them had already arrived at the entrance of a dimly lit cave, which was the rendezvous point specified in the letter.
Leonard Churchill clearly sensed several gazes monitoring them as soon as they arrived.
Beside him, Barre Shepherd also slightly raised his brow, evidently sensing some "air."
But as there was no malice, he let his eyelids droop and ignored it.
Compared to the nervous tension of the three little ones, Leonard Churchill, Sophia Jones, and Barre Shepherd remained calm, their expressions unchanged as they waited quietly.
After quite a while, it seemed that the hidden Lizardmen confirmed there were no others, and footsteps echoed from the depths of the cave.
Looking carefully, they saw three Lizardmen wearing Leather Armor cautiously approaching, their large tails swaying.
The leader seemed to be about Sixth Tier, not weak in strength.
The Dragon Blood Lizard Clan were innately gifted magicians, though there were also a few warriors among them.
They looked at Sophia Jones, the leader, and said, "Follow me."
Their tone was neither warm nor hostile.
Sophia Jones listened and, without hesitation, followed them in.
The earth cave was very dark, with only the faint glow of some Luminescent plants as the only source of light.
This was the favorite living environment for cave-dwelling creatures, with labyrinthine pathways serving as a natural defense against outsiders.
Without the guidance of the Lizard Race, venturing in recklessly would almost certainly lead to losing one’s way.
That was also why the Rebel Army had not dared to forcibly enter before.
However, for Leonard Churchill, the complex pathways held no meaning.
He clearly remembered every fork in the roads and even identified the restrictions that interfered with sensory perception.
They walked for a long time, seemingly descending thousands of meters underground.
They knew they were close to the core area of the Dragon Lizard Clan.
As they proceeded, the Elemental Power in the surrounding air became increasingly dense.
It was even denser than the Magical Beast Forest.
Leonard Churchill exchanged a glance with Sophia Jones; this situation was somewhat similar to their last journey to the Death Domain.
Such a concentration of Elemental Power gathered underground usually indicated one thing — there was a Supreme treasure here.
It seemed increasingly likely that the rumor was true, that a Lava Heart indeed formed here after a Godfall.
However, what surprised Leonard Churchill slightly was that it seemed most of the Dragon Lizard Clan were unaware of their visit this time.
There were no signs of an ambush.
The chosen path seemed to have had no footprints for a very long time, more like a "secret path."
Seeing this, Leonard Churchill was almost certain that this wasn’t a joint ambush by the Lizard Race and Silver Wind City.
He grew even more curious about what these Lizardmen were really up to.
The six of them continued downward.
Leonard Churchill sensed that they had probably left the densely populated area with a lot of gathered "air," heading deeper into the cave.
Soon, they emerged from the dark passageway into an open view.
Ahead was a Divine Temple.
Even Leonard Churchill hadn’t expected to see such a magnificent temple underground.
It spanned an area as large as four or five football fields.
The temple was suffused with an indescribable air of mystery, a weight of history borne from the passage of time.
"Obsidian," after all, was as precious a magic material as "Mithril."
And before them stood dozens of enormous obsidian pillars supporting the entire temple.
For a card master, the visual impact was akin to seeing a temple built entirely of Gold.
The torches on the walls flickered occasionally, illuminating the strange creature statues and ancient runes carved into the obsidian pillars.
These runes and statues emitted a faint but persistent elemental glow, serving not only as decor but also as part of the magic array that protected the temple.
The temple was not just a structure for the worship of God but sometimes used to seal Extraordinary Power.
Leonard Churchill had seen many temples.
The three young ones behind him were already stunned by the sight before them, their faces immediately showing vigilance.
Because this was an ideal space for restrictions, and also the best place for an ambush.
Even Sophia Jones cast an uncertain glance at Leonard Churchill beside her, as if to ask: Did you understand this?
But Leonard Churchill just raised a gentle, relaxed curve at the corner of his mouth, indicating reassurance.
Seeing that, both Sophia Jones and Barre Shepherd suppressed their faintly restless fighting qi.
Leonard Churchill’s knowledge allowed him to read the meanings of those runes; there was a significant overlap between Lizard language and Dragon Language.
For him, the temple’s meanings were mostly comprehensible.
The functions of those ancient runes were largely sealing and transformation.
While there were some offensive runes, they were mostly ancient installations of a defensive nature.
Moreover, the concentration of Elements in this temple was the densest place they had encountered along the way. Leonard Churchill’s thought process pieced together a complete logic.
This temple was the root cause of the anomalously dense Elements in the Earth Cave of the Dragon Lizard Clan.
What was sealed beneath the temple was the source of energy; even if it wasn’t a Lava Heart, it was likely a special area akin to the Rainbow Spring.
In the Southern Continent, mysterious realms like this were very numerous, not at all surprising.
What surprised Leonard Churchill was that there was no record of such a mysterious realm in the Classic Books about the Dok Mountain Range.
And the fact that the Lizard Race brought them here showed they truly did not see them as outsiders.
