Chapter 93: Chapter 105: I Don’t Know You Well (6)
By the time Isabel Smith and Raymond Thompson finished washing their hands and came out, Percy Stanton had already served the hot meals prepared by the nanny from the insulation box, one by one on the dining table.
Raymond Thompson entered the dining area one step ahead of Isabel Smith, politely pulled out a dining chair for her, then pulled out another chair from the side for himself. As he climbed onto the chair, he pointed to the first chair he had pulled out, and said to Isabel Smith, "Sister Isabel, please sit."
Isabel Smith thought that Raymond Thompson, such a handsome and well-behaved young boy, was really quite rare. He can always do something touching beyond his age, warming people’s heart to the brim.
Percy Stanton served the last dish, placed it on the table, then pulled out the dining chair opposite Isabel Smith and sat down.
The meal was a Chinese breakfast, with balanced meat and vegetables, nutritious and healthy. Each person had an egg and a bowl of seafood porridge.
Raymond sat on the chair, happily eating his meal.
As if infected by Raymond, Isabel’s mood also improved significantly.
Perhaps it was because her mood was too good, which led to some excitement. When Isabel was picking up a piece of fish, her chopsticks became unsteady and she dropped the fish on the table.
The fish was steamed and a bit tender.
Embarrassment prevented Isabel from picking up a second piece, so she awkwardly changed the direction of her chopsticks and picked up a strip of lettuce.
As she lowered her head and slowly chewed her vegetables, suddenly a pair of chopsticks reached into her bowl, and then a whole piece of fish belly was placed inside.
Percy Stanton was sitting right across from Isabel Smith. As she looked up, she could see Percy’s enchanting face, his serene demeanor as he picked up other dishes, quietly lowering his head to continue eating.
Even his eating was so elegant, his whole body exuded an aristocratic aura, making Isabel feel that the scene in front of her was more like a landscape.
In fact, it had been many years since she had dined at a table with someone else. Although Percy didn’t talk much, and even when he did, it was mostly directed at Raymond. However, looking at the scene in front of her, Isabel felt a long-lost sense of peace rising miraculously from her heart.
Isabel paused for a moment before lowering her head and slowly biting into the piece of fish that Percy had picked for her.
This meal took quite a while to finish. In fact, Percy had already finished, but Raymond ate slowly, and Isabel seemed to be affected by this environment, showing no sign of stopping, so Percy held his chopsticks and joined the two of them.
The breakfast lasted a full hour and a half before it finally ended.
After finishing breakfast, Isabel felt a bit embarrassed and took the initiative to clean up the leftovers on the table.
Isabel dumped the leftovers into the trash bin, then put the plates and bowls in the sink to wash.
Six years ago, when she lived in the Smith family, she was surrounded by many servants and never did these things.
Fast forward to six years later, she lived alone and in the United States, where she mostly ate fast food and rarely washed dishes.
So when Isabel was pouring detergent, she used too much. The moment the water rushed in, the sink immediately filled with white foam.
Percy Stanton was just finished wiping the dining table and walked into the kitchen when he saw Isabel Smith struggling against a sink full of white foam.
