Chapter 155: Chapter 167: I Take Responsibility For Her Life (8)
After hanging up the phone, Joseph Tucker returned to the dinner table, picked up his wine glass, and toasted Mr. Clarke with a restrained smile. He said, "Mr. Clarke, I might need your help with something now...""
Once Joseph Tucker had carefully explained the situation, Mr. Clarke did not hesitate to pick up his mobile phone and call Edward Shaw.
At this late hour, Edward Shaw had already gone to bed early with his beautiful wife, Lily Adams, after engaging in intimate activities to strengthen their bond. They were now fast asleep.
"Suddenly, a phone call rang, startling Lily Adams in Edward Shaw’s arms. She furrowed her brows, somewhat displeased, and turned over in his arms."
Edward Shaw was already awake and quickly grabbed his mobile phone, silencing it. He then kissed Lily Adams’ forehead and carefully let go of her. Quietly, he got out of bed, covered her with the quilt, and left the bedroom.
Once he was out of the bedroom, he went to the railing, looked down at the empty living room below, and leisurely picked up his mobile phone. He answered the phone with a simple "hello.""
Under the chandelier, the golden light cast a warm yellow hue on the snow-white walls. Edward Shaw raised his hand and tapped on the railing. Seemingly casual, his full attention was focused on his brother-in-law’s words over the phone.
When the call finally went quiet, Edward Shaw slowly stood up straight, turned around, leaned against the railing with one hand on his waist, and kicked the soft wool rug in the corridor. With closed eyes, he smiled and spoke in an anything-goes tone, "Alright, brother-in-law, wait a moment. I’ll call ’Magnificent’ right away. After I know the news, I’ll call you back.""
After saying that, Edward Shaw politely said "goodbye" over the phone, hung up, and quickly searched for ’Magnificent’s’ phone number in his mobile phone to make the call.
The phone hadn’t even rang once before it was quickly answered. The manager’s attentive, courteous voice came through. "Brother Shaw, what can I do for you?""
Through the phone, Edward Shaw could already guess the fawning expression his employee was making. He couldn’t help but chuckle and blurted out a mischievous and malicious remark, "Tell me, did you study flattery in university instead of business management?""
The person on the other end was left a little annoyed and speechless by Edward Shaw’s comment but was familiar with his boss’s usual talking style. He chuckled sheepishly in response.
Edward Shaw didn’t continue with his sarcastic remarks, quickly moving on to the main point. "Help me find someone named Elijah Smith. Which private booth is he in? And while you’re at it, check on a female named Isabel Smith.""
It was the manager’s first time hearing their boss mention another woman’s name beside his own wife. He hesitated for quite a while before stupidly asking, "Isabel Smith? Female?""
Edward Shaw, being perceptive, didn’t miss the suspicion in his employee’s voice. His expression immediately turned cold, and he grumbled before yelling into the phone, "Just do what I tell you to do! What’s with all the useless talk? If you don’t want to do it, get out of here right now!""
"Yes, yes, Brother Shaw, I’ll go check right away." The manager on the other end of the phone trembled after being yelled at by Edward Shaw, quickly hung up the phone, and went to do his job.
