Chapter 99: Chapter 0099: Someone else’s teacher [Part 2]
Chu Feng naturally had no objection to this kind of thing, besides, being a class leader was really no big deal to him.
"I have no objections," Chu Feng said.
Since Chu Feng did not consider it a big deal, Tie Mu cared even less, saying, "I also have no objections."
Qi Houbo also had no ideas about the position of class leader; he wanted the position of arts committee member, so he simply said, "I also have no objections."
With all three having no objections, Han Chunsheng naturally said, "I too have no objections."
Tie Mu said, "They say the class leader is elected by voting. It’s okay if the four of us have no objections, but our class clearly has more girls than boys. Can you handle those girls?"
Luan Fei smiled slightly and said, "As long as the four of you have no objections, that’s fine."
Having said that, Luan Fei directly took his leave.
After Luan Fei had left, Han Chunsheng then said, "This Luan Fei is not simple."
Tie Mu said, "It’s just being a lousy class leader. What’s so special about that?"
Han Chunsheng said, "The class leader during college is entirely different from the class leader during high school. The college class leader is added to the student records. Moreover, the college class leader directly assists the teacher in managing the class, acting like a half teacher. He holds considerable power and, because he communicates directly with the teachers, is naturally very familiar with school matters."
Aside from this, the class leader is more likely to enter the Student Union and also more likely to hold a position in the Student Union. Our Management College’s Student Union is indeed a hot pick where many companies choose their talents."
Tie Mu asked, "Why?"
Han Chunsheng said, "If someone can manage a group of management students well, don’t you think he would be a hot pick in the eyes of companies?"
After hearing this, Tie Mu nodded, somewhat understanding.
After a pause, Han Chunsheng continued, "Moreover, Luan Fei chose his timing very well. It is everyone’s first day of meeting. He took advantage of the fact that we are not yet familiar with each other to speak up, making it hard for people to reject his proposal."
Tie Mu said, "You analyze things so well, why don’t we choose you to be the class leader?"
Han Chunsheng said, "I’m not suitable. I’m too rational, which can give people a distant feeling. Plus, my presence is very low; I cannot fulfill a leader’s duties."
Chu Feng had not expected that being a class leader in college would involve so much, nor had he expected Han Chunsheng to have such a rational mind.
Chu Feng chuckled and said, "You may not be suitable for leadership, but you are definitely the best chancellor."
Upon hearing Chu Feng’s words, Han Chunsheng first looked stunned, then soon revealed a slight smile.
Chu Feng glanced at Luan Fei, who was chatting cheerfully with the girls, and then stopped paying attention to the matter. As for the class leader position, Chu Feng really had no desire for it.
Besides, Chu Feng had his own company and did not need people to recruit him.
With the sound of light, crisp impacts between high heels and the floor, a teacher dressed in a silver-gray business suit entered the classroom and walked up to the lectern.
Seeing the female teacher standing on the lectern, Chu Feng’s expression inadvertently stiffened, and Tie Mu, even more excited, said, "Is that... is that... Sister-in-Law?"
"Sister-in-Law? What Sister-in-Law?" Qi Houbo asked, puzzled.
Tie Mu glanced at Chu Feng’s stern look and sheepishly smiled, "Nothing, I was just talking nonsense."
Xie Mengying had naturally seen Chu Feng and cheerfully winked at him.
"Let’s quiet down, everyone. This year I will be your class advisor as well as your Business English teacher. This is my name." Xie Mengying wrote her name on the blackboard.
The male students in the class, seeing such a beautiful female teacher as Xie Mengying, were completely mesmerized.
"This is truly a teacher from someone else’s school."
"We finally caught up."
"Now we can also be envied by others!"
The fellow students, looking at Xie Mengying, were generous with various compliments.
"All right! Now, everyone please introduce yourselves so I can get to know each of you," Xie Mengying said with a smile.
Then, each person took their turn to go up to the podium to introduce themselves.
When it was Chu Feng’s turn, he approached the podium, only to hear Xie Mengying whisper, "You little rascal, bet you didn’t expect me to become your class teacher, did you? If you dare to misbehave again, you’re in for it."
Hearing Xie Mengying’s quiet warning, Chu Feng could only offer a bitter smile.
After a round of introductions, the time Luan Fei was most concerned about had arrived—the election of class officers.
"Now that everyone is acquainted, let me discuss the next order of business. You all have two weeks of military training ahead, which is different from previous years. This year, your training will not be held on campus but in a military camp. Therefore, the teachers hope to elect some individuals who can temporarily help manage the students. Feel free to voice any concerns," said Xie Mengying.
"Teacher, I believe I am up to the responsibility of class monitor, and I trust that I have the capability to serve my classmates better," Luan Fei confidently stood up first to say.
Xie Mengying glanced at Luan Fei, her eyebrows slightly knitting together, but she still smiled and said, "Very good! It’s commendable that Luan Fei has such awareness and confidence. However, is there anyone else willing to take on this important role?"
Luan Fei’s expression turned a bit unnatural after hearing Xie Mengying’s call.
After speaking, Xie Mengying also specifically looked toward Chu Feng, continuously giving him meaningful glances.
But Chu Feng pretended not to notice, intently counting the light bulbs in the sky with his friends.
Chu Feng’s attitude frustrated Xie Mengying so much that she stomped her foot.
"Any other students?" Xie Mengying asked again.
Hearing Xie Mengying’s question for the second time, Luan Fei felt something shift within him.
If the first query was a normal inquiry, the second one seemed a bit abnormal.
Seeing indeed that no one stepped forward, Xie Mengying could only say, "It seems that everyone is still not familiar with the environment. For now, let Luan Fei serve as our temporary class monitor. After the military training, we will hold new elections for the class monitor and other class officers."
Luan Fei frowned tightly upon hearing Xie Mengying’s decision. Clearly, this was not the outcome he wanted, but since Xie Mengying was the teacher, what she said went. He had no choice but to accept.
"The teacher was giving you signals just now, why didn’t you respond?" Tie Mu nudged Chu Feng and asked.
Chu Feng said, "Really? I didn’t notice."
Hearing Chu Feng’s response, Tie Mu rolled his eyes at him.
Suddenly, Chu Feng felt an unusual gaze directed at him. He looked up and saw Luan Fei quickly turning his head away.
"That Luan Fei was staring at you just now; he probably noticed something. People like him seem enthusiastic on the surface but are very sinister behind your back," Han Chunsheng whispered to Chu Feng.
Chu Feng could sense it because of his strong Spirit Sense, but he didn’t expect Han Chunsheng to notice too, which was truly beyond his expectations.
The first meeting ended just like that.
As Chu Feng and his friends were about to leave the classroom, Luan Fei suddenly blocked their path, all smiles and casual as he said, "Chu Feng, it seems like you know our class teacher?"
Chu Feng furrowed his brows and casually explained, "I came to report, and it was the class teacher who took me to the dormitory."
Upon hearing Chu Feng’s words, Luan Fei’s expression relaxed, saying, "Oh! So that was it! I thought you knew the class teacher personally. If you really did know her, just give me a heads up, and I would have let you have the position of class monitor."
Though Luan Fei spoke casually, anyone could detect the barbs in his words.
"What do you mean? Are you suggesting we need to pull strings to become class monitor? Even in a fair competition, you wouldn’t stand a chance!" Tie Mu, always quick-tempered, ignited immediately.
Luan Fei smiled slightly at Tie Mu’s words, saying, "I was just speaking casually, really meant nothing by it. Besides, we are all supposed to compete fairly, and you all expressed your support for me just now, so I..."
Chu Feng didn’t even let Luan Fei finish, cutting him off coldly, "We should just compete fairly."
It was clear that Luan Fei was intentionally provoking Tie Mu, aiming to make him say those exact words about fair competition.
Chu Feng didn’t care about being class monitor, but if Luan Fei was going to use his friend as a pawn, Chu Feng couldn’t agree to that.
Upon hearing Chu Feng’s words, Luan Fei’s expression turned icy, saying, "Fine! Then we’ll compete fairly."
